About 40+ years ago while I was taking a tour of the Statue of Liberty I was told the statue is in New York but the land it sits on belongs to New Jersey, or was it the other way around 🤔

The full title is united states of America, no other part of America has several states united. Saying America is a shortened version of the most commonly known name in the entire world. Furthermore, Australia is a continent and a country, does new Zealand matter that much you need to whine to them too about it
