@@barefootdoctorssailing8567 yeah the boat needs a new paint and couple other things to be fixed in the kitchen area. like the gas burners and stuff. the engine has 1200 hours tho. but the main reason i was interested in was because the hull is Aluminum... so even if it was made in 1974, the hull seems to be in great condition. and it s a 44ft one.. so yeah... shipping it from US will be hardest part i guess. i let you guys know.. btw i really like these videos with Macgregor. love to see it beaches..
A question for you. Do boats using propane tanks for cooking, heat, etc have some sort of gas detector/alarm or is that something you have to add yourself? If so is there word of mouth as to which are the good ones? Do you think you'll stay with the Leopard 45 or go back up to the 50 before long? What's the timeline for you getting the Leopard 45?
Hey Robert, Some boats come with those alarms fitted and sometimes you have to fit yourself. I think they all work fine but get one with a carbon monoxide sensor too if you can - it detects toxic fumes from exhausts that you would not smell and would make you unconscious before you were aware of any problem. As for the timelines for our 45 - we get it in May and we are looking at al the other options for the longer term boat cause there are so money changes occurring now with boat and gear, esp charging systems and power that we are looking at everything again.... Considering Aluminium, trying to get shallow draft and beachable as our difficult preferences so keep watching and see what happens as it is very exciting!
Damn thats a beautiful place ...when you get to the S of france its worth heading inland to a village called Roussillon. It sits on a hill top surrounded by bluffs and gully's of a soft sand stone full of the most amazing ochre colours from dark purples to pale creamy yellows. The village doors and shutters are pale cornflower blue. I've no idea what the name of your green bristle worm might be but the chances are there are quite a few more out there in burrows under the sand... As its not camouflage it might be you're looking a symbiotic pairing a translucent worm like creature but that has a partnership with chlorophyll containing algea 🤷🏻♂️
My 11 year old step daughter called it the Rifle Tower 🗼 🤣 we still this call it that. 💓
