Love your content! FYI, the Gladiator got a major buff last patch! Pilot has 2x s4's now, shield went up to s2 and # of missile racks doubled! Coupled with tanky HP, I think you oughta give it another look!
The Paladin is pretty interesting since you can control the 4 size 4 guns and someone to man the quad size 5 turret, but i have a rule against buying concept ships because things can change
The Paladin description was updated for the 'United Arms' section: "Each turret hardpoint can be manned by a dedicated crew member, allowing the pilot to focus solely on flying while gunners maintain pinpoint accuracy. When operating with a smaller crew, the pilot can take direct control of the wing turrets, ensuring no defensive position is left unmanned. During quieter moments, crew members can relax in their own private bunks, with onboard living amenities providing comfort and convenience no matter where the Paladin is deployed." Basically it means you can operate it with 2 crew and still utilize all guns, but with 4 crew you get more 'range of fire' I guess. I feel like more ships should be able to just do this, if this one can...but I fear this change is due to backlash that it had no pilot guns, and will change or be quickly nerfed (like a few other ships, you know...just a few others lol). Actually, I feel like a sudden change or addition hours after something is released or announced has happened a few times this IAE...
I wouldn't say it is on the Valk chassis but from the recent jumpoint articles giving BTS looks at design process for new ships like the Starlancer they will start by sort of kitbashing existing concepts from the manufacturer. I think you can see bits of the Valk but also the legionnaire and terrapin.
@@PureZeal66 fair. Definitely looks like there’s a LOT of Valk in its DNA, though. And that kitbashing is just when they’re trying to come up with a silhouette. It usually doesn’t retain that all the way through concept and whitebox
I think that for the most part the redeemer doesn't need significant changes, I predict the paladin will have quite a bit less maneuverability than people think. If there's one thing I think needs to be addressed on the redeemer is the components, power to shields specifically, powering all 6 of those s2 shields takes so much out of your capability, and having a pilot with pilot weapons to worry about keeping on target will make it much more of a hassle to manage over the Paladin. I think the easiest way to fix this would be to simply change the redeemers shielding to a single s3, idk about space, but surely they can cram it somewhere if they're able to put 6 s2s.
So as far as I recall CIG stated that you will have the opportunity to purchase the lightning in game after completing SQ42 I assume it is rep locked in 1.0 but you won't be "given" the ship.
Called the Ironclad Ironside. Ngl, I’d love a broadside cannons Irondclad variant called the Ironside! That would be epic 🏴☠️ Lose cargo for broadside cannons that would be useless against fighters but cool against bigger ships
Here is my dumb and stupid comment...... The Paladin is a good looking ship. I love the Valk but have no use of a dropship, this thing warranted a CCU grab for me.
Agreed and now that they updated the ship page the pilot can control the wing turrets now it is a no brainer to grab a CCU and see how it turns out. As per CIG: UNITED ARMS Each turret hardpoint can be manned by a dedicated crew member, allowing the pilot to focus solely on flying while gunners maintain pinpoint accuracy. When operating with a smaller crew, the pilot can take direct control of the wing turrets, ensuring no defensive position is left unmanned. During quieter moments, crew members can relax in their own private bunks, with onboard living amenities providing comfort and convenience no matter where the Paladin is deployed.
I expected a bit more of a big reveal before just having the Paladin up for sale. This whole IAE feels like the cart comes before the horse a bit with the way they are doing accompanying video content. Just a bit odd. At least to me.
Did a minor upgrade from a C1 to a Zeus ES. It was the only thing i could think of that seemed reasonable/inexpensive (for me) to show some support.

what might be interesting is only having 3 shields powered up and the other 3 in reserve for if the first 3 die
