I took my bachelor party of best brothers to this show at Red Rocks. What an unforgettable night, jamming with friends under the stars, and handing out psychedelic diffraction glasses to anyone who would take them. The hope of going to another amazing concert at this venue is what keeps me alive! Jam on, you funky animals.
I saw them by accident at a "secret show" during Winterfest in Miami Beach like around 2003 or so. Walked into a ballroom at the Eden Roc I think, to hook up with my connection. As I waited listening to this group on stage (and about 40-50 people in the audience) it suddenly hit me....HOLY S*&!T this is STS9! I'll never forget that night. Amazing performance!
Also it sounds like the first time I saw Space Kadet. Literally walked in just bc we wanted to get a beer and all of the sudden I hear space funk loud as fuck and was instantly hooked. Check them out if you haven't heard them.
Caught them at summer camp: Tripping so hard and all I saw was colored lights. At one point, I looked at my friends, and said "I need to see their faces". Ran up to the front. It was holy
I remember my first time seeing them was spring of '97 at Home Park Fest at the back of a house in Atlanta and they were just called Sector 9. They rocked even back then. Obviously have changed a ton since then but they were great at all the house parties and other home park fests I got to see them at back then. Love hearing them still!
J MAR : I just want 2 say a BIG GIGANTIC THANK YOU😍😍😍... This list/soundtrack u have really takes me back 2 a solid 8yrs of my life~really living the music...culmination @RED ROCKS!! ❤Colorado!! Thank you XO, 🤩🤩😘 from bottom of my heart ❤u brought back some tear-ibducing & truly beautiful moments in mi life😉 . Lovin this selection!!!🤩🤩🤩
Was really into tribe and the scene back 1998-2005 started with phish SCI and the Dead, saw about 20 or so sector shows 02-06 it was bliss, the best days of my life. I fell out of the whole scene about 06 didn't see another show until 2015, phish played alpine valley which is only 15 mins from my hometown. Right now I'm slowly getting back into the music of my hey days. This tribe is definitely little different from tribe of 15 yrs ago. First few listens to the newer shows I was little apprehensive but now really digging it, this 2nd set is just genius stuff gives me chills, and I'm so glad I'm starting to get back into swing of things. I need to go see a tribe show and feel the heat again!!!
2.0 Tribe is that heat! Funky DnB and oh so tight. Don't give a shit what anybody says, every Tribe show I go to I leave with chills and to me that's everything. This band is one of the best in the biz, right behind Phish in my opinion
Very different than phish but just as amazing. I love tribe, Dead, moe, phish, thievery, anything jammy.. bout to see tribe in a couple weeks at Pisgah in NC. First time seeing them since Murph was kicked out.
Dude definitely worth checking out the official flac audio of their main set at Summer Camp 2018 if you haven't heard it yet. It was no lie the most exhilarating hour and a half of music I've ever experienced live. They literally sent me to another dimension during that time, and the official recordings are not that far off from the real thing.
They are so at the top of their game and I've been an avid listener since 2002. I just caught em at Utopia fest and until the rain blew in they were on 🔥
Great show...I was at this run. What get's me is the direction(director) of the video. Just a bunch of random shots strung together that they sometimes get right! The music and memories make up for that.
I can never see these guys live too many times! Biggest thing I hate about pandemic is no live music. Nothing beats seeing them in 2008/2009 @ Rothbury Music Fest (Mich)!!!
Whewwweee! That lorde song was the heat. Felt like i was flying at the top of red rocks! Was one of my favorite shows out of the 40 or so Tribe shows that I've been to.
I really appreciate you capturing such amazing shots of them and their facial expressions, I normally throw on a set to get my work done but it's too good I have to pause it, do my work, then enjoy the heck out of these jams
WARNING! No pun intended segue ahead... I must've been living under a rock ever since... Literally, where've they been all my life??? I gotta lotta livin' to do in the next 2+ hrs of this video -- WHEW!!
Such great quality footage. I would love to see some shots of the whole band and light show though. The entire show is almost all close ups which is nice but I'd love to see some pulled back shots of the band and lights. great videos! Tribe for life
Fuck, this is FIRE. I used to be a huge Sound Tribe fan back in the day, used to see them a lot of the 2000s, but by 08-09 they got so slow and boring that the last few times I saw them I didn't really enjoy it at all which was a shame. I hate to say it but replacing Murph was the best decision they could have possibly made because they got their groove back and they sound fucking incredible again in recent years.
I felt a lot of funk coming out of this vibe. I just got turned on to this group and I love it instantly. I guess the tribal stems from the percussion? This is true entertainment value.
They're amazing live. Ill bee seeing them this Summer for my 6th, 7th and 8th time. They're the type of band that if you're not a hugh fan you will be after seeing them live
Having seen my first two shows in bars for a 5 dollar cover its pretty amazing to see them flourishing as they are. SCAMP this year was better than night one of Asheville. However, in 2015 Nashville their second set was the best I have ever seen ever. o-O Alana has really elevated them too, she helped expand their catalog from 80 song rotation to over double that..
This is what plays on the big screen at Red Rocks during the show... Cool AF to be certain, but the light setup was awesome and we barely see it in the video!
Luke Chamberlain not so at all I guess it’s subjective. Everybody I spoke too said these rocks shoes were some of the best sound and visual performances they have ever seen
nice! great sound quality. unrelated, I saw a photo on "Colorado Big Game Trophy Wook Hunters" where some people were having sexual relations at this show. :-O
Saw them back in the early 2000's a few times, I liked their mellow, ambient, organic approach, as opposed to the "in your face" style of Particle & some other edm/jam fusion bands. Listening to this now (haven't really followed them since 05 or so), I have to agree w/some of the other comments in this section that they are seemingly now trying to appeal to the Commercial aspects of the EDM genre, with all the searing electronica, beats, & especially all the prerecorded vocals dripping with auto tune (ugh!). This is a real turnoff for me. I recently discovered Papadosio & find them to be the inheritors of STS9's early vibe more than any other band of this type.
The music that played before they went on was so good. I mean that really bassy music that went on for like 10 minutes. I am in the front across from zach, wearing a white shirt.
Kinda boring compared to the 2001 days. That percussionist saves these dudes alot of times. Without him even the grooves wouldnt be that fun. Just way overdone unnecessary electronica. These dudes could play back in the day. This, meh.
I want to like this, I really do. Thing is, it's really CHEESY. I first saw Tribe at roo 03. That show and many others after were little crystals of time, forever hardened and formed out of the white hot flames they used to emit. They used to bring Epic, nasty, jazzy Drum and Bass. When they did bring some house , it was funky, not a huge ball of Cheddar. When the kicked Murph out, they castrated themselves. What a shame. At least, me and mine got to lose our shit at their shows in their prime.
How come theres lots of good jams from pike 2005-2015 and now they sound like this cheeseball shit that belongs on an apple commercial? They taking the string cheese route, selling out the talented sounds that made them big for the cheesy pop sounds younger people like?
sts9 are other worldly for sure

People that don’t like this are not evolved. This band is so many emotions. Love them!
Sickest band on this planet

Consider yourself very lucky. They are even better in 2019
Also it sounds like the first time I saw Space Kadet. Literally walked in just bc we wanted to get a beer and all of the sudden I hear space funk loud as fuck and was instantly hooked. Check them out if you haven't heard them.
Hell yeah, I work at eden rock doing lighting
Thanks for posting 🎉. This would have been incredible in person. Grateful for all the time I have seen Tribe🙏.

The band is so much cleaner and tighter now, but they still get really weird.

Especially since they have one of the best light shows of any band in the genre except for maybe Phish
these guys all get in a groove and its fucking transcendental
Love the tribe. Music that always sounds of the universe.keep it coming.

newbie question: Does anyone know the best way to capture this audio to mp3? with songs separated?
You can find the audio for this on their SoundCloud
Thank you love you guys
Awesome show, just wish there were wayyyy more full stage shots....
This is what plays on the big screen at Red Rocks during the show... Cool AF to be certain, but the light setup was awesome and we barely see it in the video!
They were making an overt attempt to conceal the inferiority of the new lights guy... Sorry, just facts.
Luke Chamberlain not so at all I guess it’s subjective. Everybody I spoke too said these rocks shoes were some of the best sound and visual performances they have ever seen

Ben S bye
Merph was sloppy and his tone was unshaped, dry, and off beat. He was more imaginative but it came at a price.
Not as weird but tighter. This is the normal progression of every jam band.
I saw them in the early days too but Phipps is taking this to next level. This whole show is unreal! I have enjoyed the evolution.
