If catchy chorus and more hard sounding guitar wise is your thing, then I'd recommend you their Japanese tracks like Endless Night, Eclipse, Don't Light My Fire, Breaking Out, and their earlier works in the Nightmare series like Chase Me, Goodnight, You & I, What. Great reactions there.
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
I see you already have more Dreamcatcher videos, thanks for reacting to them, I hope you react to many more Dreamcatcher songs :D #dreamcatcher #드림캐쳐 #dc #BOCA
Bro. The petals effect😂😂😂 haha you can be honest with your reaction. No hard feeling. I was just like you the first time listening to this song. You just need to listen to the track more. I think a lot of Dreamcatcher's song like that. Hard to process what happened at first. Next is ODD EYE and then pls react to DEJA VU or ENDLESS NIGHT
LoL u make the pre chorus more angelic with the petals editing 😂 BOCA is a major grower track i think, but don't worry,we actually know there's personal preference 😂
BOCA is their greatest commercial hit, which basically translates to 'it's less metal rock'. It's one of those songs that I like when it comes up on my playlist but never click on Spotify to start my playlist with, you know? Dami and Gahyeon own this song, and I love Siyeon's notes near the end. Odd Eye is much more my style. I think you'll like it better too. I am all for a live!
that's interesting to me. i actually am i rock fan and i was trying to find a rock kpop group and i listened to boca and fell in love. it does have a lot of genre mixing but it is more rock than most kpop songs. it is true that dreamcatcher has a lot harder songs though. but it's interesting that odd eye is more your style, since i found that one less rock and didn't like it at first (but that may just mean we like different subgenres/styles of rock). but it grew on me and now i really love it. but that's just my experience and i see your perspective too
@@insomnial8153 To each their own, for sure! To my ears 'Odd Eye' is harder overall (but yes, maybe not more rock) than 'Boca', which is why I vibe with it more, I think? The CD's of DC I listen to the most are their Japanese releases, followed by their earlier work, up until 'Piri' era. I do listen to it all and love it all on Spotify, but when I am near my CD player, I gravitate to a more specific DC sound, I think, and 'Boca' fits that less in my ears.
check out the special MV they did for this song. They teamed up with the wardrobe and makeup team from the Netflix show Kingdom (a zombie kdrama set in Joseon era korea). They change their choreography style a bit to match with how korean zombies move in movies and tvshows. it's fun!
don't worry about giving honest opinions with dreamcatcher fans \:D/ dreamcatcher songs are all different and diverse ranging from ballads to essentially metal so even their own fans won't like certain songs as much as others. I'm more a fan of their rock songs, so the dystopia trilogy songs aren't my favorite - they are essentially electronic pop songs with some guitar :) while their other songs are essentially hard rock/metal songs with pop vocals. boca for example is maybe their most popular song because it attracted a lot of mainstream pop fans, but for my taste I find the raggaeton variant used is a bit too generic sounding. but because they are pretty creative with their genre mashing, I found a few songs with genres I do not like, extremely appealing lol. a lot of pop fans have said the same - they are not a fan of rock but they like dreamcatcher's rock songs. it was one of dreamcatcher's intent to bring fans across different genres together and more specifically make rock more popular in their native country.
Yea no, Boca is a grower. I didn't particularly like it as much as their other stuff at first but it became one of my most listened to songs of the month. I still think I prefer Scream and Odd Eye to Boca but the beat switches threw me off. Honestly, I actually started to like it a lot more when I heard the instrumental and realised the beats don't really switch as much as do a quick fade into each other.
@@joeminjiholic434 true! I found that you actually enjoy their title tracks even more if you listen to the instrumental as well since suddenly you realise there is so many amazing little details and how well they blend it with the vocals.
We are InSomnia, even if you totally dislike what you see or what you hear, we are cool with it. It's okay if you don't like a part of a song, or the entire song. We know that Dreamcatcher is not for everybody. Keep up the good work!
I think you'll like Dreamcatcher's Nightmare series and Japanese releases more. Odd-Eye will also be quite different from your expectations. I hope you also include Endless Nights and No More when you do live reactions.
Glad you’re continuing the trilogy! The article I sent explains a lot of what others mentioned in the comments, I just think it’s fun to read after you’ve drawn your own conclusions first and then read other analyses. I geeked a bit that you immediately heard that reggaeton influence like I did when I first heard it haha. Can’t wait to see the final part for Odd Eye! And also hope you do eventually check out Red Sun 😁🤘
Yo creí que ya no encontraría música nueva, innovadora... y un día me crucé con Dreamcatcher. No exagero al decir que me llenan de energía. 'What' 'Eclipse' 'Poison Love' 'Sahara' 'Diamond' 'The curse of the spider' 'Silent night' etc etc 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
I didn’t feel it too during the first listen, but somehow it keep growing on me, till it became one of my favourite song. I hope you can give it few more listen, just the song without the MV cause the mv can be distracting . But anyhow, awesome reaction as always 👍🏻
A lot of the time I am waiting to get them done, sometimes youtube doesn't translate the english portion for me to translate when I need them. They should be avail later today tho!
@@Cyneward I was referring to the visible english captions for your viewing on the music video. You had them on in the other DC reactions, but not this one. That's why I was wondering if you had forgot or chose to watch without them turned on. Some people don't want to watch with the captions on, so....
@@kevindean0000 OHHH!!!! I decided to watch without them started feeling like it was taking me away from fully enjoying the entire video and feeling it.
Korea has a shame based culture and being attacked on social media is deeply shaming whether the the things said are true or not. A number of Kpop idols and Kdrama actors have killed themselves because of attacks by netizen clowns. That's why Dreamcatcher have confronted the issue head on. They have also been attached viciously on social media, but they're having none of it. The third song, Odd Eye, is slightly different as it expands their criticism of internet culture to warn of the lies, distortions and propaganda that infest it. Everyone should use their 'odd eye' (in Korean mythology people with different colored eyes can see through lies) on everything that comes through the internet, not just the obvious haters. Odd Eye is set in a Dystopian future where the internet has corrupted language so much that truth is hard to find and the Tree of Language is pretty much dead.
The best part of this song is actually the raps and the high notes, i pretty sure most InSomnias and other reactors can agree with that so kinda unds if u feel that the chorus is abit underwhelming
I don't know many people who really loved Boca the first time around but I will say that it's an explosive grower. I went from disliking it to having it being my most played song of 2021. 👀 Not even just K-Pop, my most played song in general. Once you hear more of Dreamcatcher's discography it's easier to get on board with Boca. If you're new and you listen to Boca the "genre salad" aspect is very off-putting.
well you just found one lol. boca was the first song i heard by them and i instantly fell as in love as one possibly can with a song (i usually don't even particularly like kpop so i was stunned). it's my favorite kpop song and one of my favorite songs in general too. but i understand people not liking it at first. actually there are a fair amount of dc songs that i had to listen to a few times to really like. especially odd eye, which i didn't like at first, but is now one of my top favorites.
Yeah. Boca is definitely one of my least favorite of Dreamcatcher but still very very good. I find myself these days listening to their b-sides way more than their title tracks.
It's funny but Boca actually heavily out performed Scream and Odd Eye so there must be a much larger general public love for it than their other songs. However, Scream and Odd Eye are a bit more my style (Boca's rap is still god tier though and so is Siyeons high note at the end)
You should react their song "Deja Vu" its one of the hardest song of Dreamcatcher
