Every Speccy that played this tune for the first time probably wept with unbridled joy😂, as it emitted music of a caliber it never knew it was capable of producing. Tim Follin probably has sheds full of thank you letters from lots of very happy Spectrums.😊
Tim Follin is quite the legend indeed. Known for two things. Pushing sound hardware past it's limits, and making music that doesn't at all relate to the game, but still sounds great (pictionary being a prime example). Seriously though, listen to stuff like the title theme for the NES game Solstice, and tell me he isn't a music god.
An awesome tune, so many memories of great gaming times as a child, in my bedroom with my curtains drawn, when i really should have been outside, playing with the other kids and learning social skills.
A much older video upload of this same track had a comment I shall reproduce, for the original has been lost "soundchip limitations? whats that? I don't see any"

alberto gonzález is up there, too.
Tim Follin, heck yeah! One of my favorite tunes from him.
Fancy meeting you here, SJS
@Lloig_Ah-n-gha-drn I completely forgot about this comment from 6 years ago. My username wasn't even SuperJet Spade then!

So sad :(
I hope you have a better life now
how is that sad??@@leothehuman_9476
0:31 Anybody notice how the intro part of LED Storm shares a leitmotif with Tim Follin’s older ZX Spectrum tune, Chronos?
i am pretty sure a lot of tim follin songs have the same leit-motif
That's interesting, because for me it reminds me of the Agent X title theme instead.

Tim Follin's AY work: I came, I squared, I conquered ;-)
Tim confirmed Jules Cesar
Those arpeggios, Tim was certainly one of the best and underrated musicians out there.
AY YMFAO

What does that mean?

It's a pun with the name of the AY chip and the Yamaha chips.
*AY* *YM* fao.
@@RedTsarOldChannel-INACTIVE Yeah but what about "fao"?
Another sweet tune from Tim Follin!
Describing this music:
HAHA ARPEGGIOS GOES TRRRR
Average rap fan: NO YOU CAN'T MAKE A GOOD SONG WITHOUT VOCALS!! THAT'S BAD SONGWRITING!!!
Average chiptune enjoyer: haha arpeggio goes trrrr
Its that moment at 2.01. All before it is a superb intro to set the mood. Awesome.
Just 3 channels, but a great sound power!
Literally just listened to this yesterday on my repaired Spectrum +2
Fantastic tune!
I love this style of retro music always impresses me :)

Goes hard af
I wish it repeated instead of just playing once xD
AY lmao!
Literally lol'd when i saw it on descriprion
Your dumb comment lmao!
Follin is GOD XXXX
excellent!

I don't see any"
Sounds like the Sega Master System!
This makes me wonder what Follin would have been able to make with the SMS. He would have definitely got an incredible sound of it.
@@quadpad_music We can get close with Matt Furniss' SN76489 conversion of Tim Follin's Incredible Dummies soundtrack.
Well, both the Speccy and the Master System shared the same main processor (Zilog Z80)...
@@Nikku4211
The Incredible Crash Dummies was actually done by his brother Geoff.
@@RedTsarOldChannel-INACTIVE Same difference.
well, I know where Alberto josé gonzalez got his trademark arpeggios from ;)
in particular, this reminds me of astérix - secret level: th-cam.com/video/5JfZktoLwyc/w-d-xo.html

On par with the Final Fantasy title!
For more variety do Ottifanten: Ghostphobia on the GB. Please?
dude my computer is having troubles with this lol cus the things are moving so fast
Pretty sweet actually, but for me the nothing tops the c64 title theme👌
There's a really good version of this for the SID by Michal Hoffmann. Less heavy on the square waves, naturally!
almost as good as the amiga version... makes me wonder why he didn't try make it like this on the c64 which could have been just as good
Sounds almost identical to the Atari ST theme, albeit with slightly lower notes th-cam.com/video/XTIuMMSqHX0/w-d-xo.html
Not too much of a surprise, given they shared the same sound hardware: the AY-3-8910.
@@talideon i'm pretty sure the atari ST used the YM2149 though, although the YM2149 is just an 8910 clone anyway
YM2149F is a clone of the AY-3-8910
