@@kirk7608 I remember when I would get all the way to the drop down stairs and the scythe guys would throw their scythes at me and decapitate me instantly and I’d have to restart the whole room 😅
Something I didn't realize as a kid playing this on my GameCube is just how useful the flash grenades are. They seriously make any group of those head parasites incredibly easy, especially that room with the six knights for the King's Grail.
Resident Evil 4 is one of the greatest games ever, and also one of my most favorite of all time. I played this game so many times since late 2000s, and i only play Pro Mode. Here's my tips for Pro Mode * It js advisable to finish Separate Ways first to unlock Special Costume 2, this costume will make the game easier especially when it comes to Ashley * To conserve ammo do the following 1. Knife enemies if possible, 2. Take advantage of exploding barrels etc to kill enemies, 3. Take advantage of dynamite throwers, 4. Memorize every corner with ammos, 5. Upgrade the firepower of guns to make them stronger and use less ammo, 6. Upgrade the capacity of guns when near empty or empty so merchant will fully upgrade capacity with free ammo * To earn lots of money and spend them wisely... 1. Buy and upgrade only guns you'll use the whole game, 2. Always combine treasures before selling, 3. Memorize chests/boxes/portraits with no money, 4. Sell old guns including Punisher (useless to be honest) and the Broken Butterfly from castle (you never need magnums if you're good) * Memorize location of herbs especially yellow herbs. Farm chicken eggs in the farm area, and the fish/black bass. Always carry healing items around * Avoid unnecessary enemies to save ammo and healing * Always buy a bigger attache case as soon as a bigger one is available * Save the dog at the start to make it help you with first El Gigante fight. Choose the El Gigante path to save ammo instead of left path full of ganado and chainsaw sisters. * Don't buy scopes they're useless. Buy TMP earliest, to make use of lots of tmp ammos and to rapid fire (superior than handgun in my opinion) * In the castle onwards complete the shooting range mini game for lots of money * To finish Verdugo and most bosses easily, just buy a rocket launcher, one shoot would kill most bosses. If you are good finding money, there's a lot of it in exess. RL will save you from consuming a lot of ammo and prolonged damage/healing * Buy the STRIKER ASAP. this shotgun is the only weapon to grant you extra speed using the ditman glitch, also superior to other shotguns by consuming less space, holding more ammo and greater spread of blast. * Use ditman glitch to go off bounds when fighting the two el gigante, you can kill them out of reach or just go to next area an skip the battle to conserve ammo * Use thermal scope to kill regenerators, sell the scope after the prison area in the Island. * QTE are now harder, concentrate hard pushing buttons and be very quick when dodges are needed * Use Ashley to lure enemies, since she cannot he harmed. If enemies carry her, they will fall to the ground..knife enemies after they fall. * After maxing all health, sell all yellow herbs (mix first with green and red) to sell 10,000 each set
In the Two Gigantes fight, if you use the rocket launcher, you can kill the second with the lava trap. Skip the cut scene, run out of the room and back. If you are quick the money from the kill will be on top of the trap and you can get it before it despawns.
Same here. I'm currently on my 14th or so playthrough since 2006. And yesterday is the first time that I ever noticed there is a stair leading to Salazars balcony.
Same here, for the most part. The only difference is that I've been playing this game since 2010 (admittedly behind my parent's back at a friends house, since my friend and I were only 10 at the time.)
By the time I reached the final Saddler fight on pro, i had 18 G/R/Y heals, 6 first aid sprays, and 300,000 cash after i fully upgraded broken butterfly. I was super stingy during the entire playthrough and rarely ever upgraded my weapons (unless if I needed the ammo). I still made out like a bandit. It honestly does help to leave/return load areas and to reload checkpoints to manipulate enemy spawns in harder areas. Especially if you're dying a lot/taking a lot of damage. That's how I was able to stockpile a lot of stuff throughout most of the game.
how do you guys save so much in pro mode even after following this guide my loot is left very scarce although it can be due to the version of game I am playing. It's the gamecube which I am playing on pc with mouse and keyboard it is really difficult to aim in it
@@dhruvmishra9148 GameCube version has pretty much the same cash drops. Between the gc, PS2, Wii, Ps4, and pc I usually max out the red9/bb/semi auto rifle/tmp with money to spare. And the GameCube version imo has the best ammo drops, I always end up with too much ammo when I get to saddler. Too much health too.
After the first flying insect room you can use the sniper rifle to kill the watch tower guy before crossing the bridge, this will prevent the catapults from activating
All these yrs later and still learning as well. I've beaten all forms of the game except professional. This is REALLY DIFFICULT. Barely through the game and struggling. Though I must say, and I've yet to encounter Ashley, it DEFINITELY helps having the option to use costume 2 when I began the game. At least I won't be having to worry about her safety later on. Damn this is truly hard on professional. I'll be ecstatic if I complete it. I'm seriously trying very hard. Send some luck my way or hints/tips ALWAYS Help! Much love and appreciation to my fellow gamers. This has got to be one of the greatest games ever created. Definitely at least top 5!!!
I'm only 10 minutes in, but I can already tell this is an exceptionally well made guide. I already finished RE4 in all modes several times, but it's very useful to see an optimal route. Subscribed, also because of your very good Mercenaries mode guides.
In the water room, a good method is to have Ashley wait on the downstairs door’s left. Doing so causes the enemies to target her and get stuck on the door, allowing you to easily headshot enemies with the sniper
I would recommend this guide. Beat pro mode years ago and looking back at it, playing this game again on the switch and watching this vid I can agree that the tips and tricks given from this video can help players beat pro mode.
I got to the part where you have to run away from Salazars Giant Statue on pro. Its impossible to hit the buttons to JUMP at the end. Any tips please???
@@Sarcosuchas I stopped playing Re4 for about a month. after you replied to my comment I picked up the game again and got it done in 2 tries. you are the best! I subscribed to you as a thank you.
this is the best guideline i've come across. i never knew you could defeat el gigante with a few grenades and a blast from the shotgun, then slashing his plaga. i always used the tmp with the stock and went all out. nice one sarco!
You can knife enemies through wooden doors if you make a small hole, but there are less wooden doors as you get to late game. Very useful for the first village fight. For the twin chainsaw sisters, they get stuck behind the explosive barrels. You can lure every enemy there to kill everyone with one bullet. At novistadores first encounter, you can kill them with a single rifle headshot while they're waiting to ambush you (or be ambushed lmao). The two giants after the fossil mine can be killed even easier. Drop one in the lava and the second can be cheesed by climbing the ladder and jump down before he shakes the platform. You'll have time for few knife slashes before climbing up again. For Saddler, you can shoot anywhere with a minethrower to expose his weak spot. Buy one and upgrade only capacity. Striker is arguably the best shotgun in the game. Higher damage, faster firing rate, takes less space, wide spread will take down everything in front of you. You don't want to snipe with shotguns anyway.
@@mbatistas I generally used the normal shotgun and upgraded it I’d say it works well although I have never bothered to use the mine thrower although I might use it now after hearing what you said.
Learning to use handgun, shotgun, knife and melee appropriately can really improve odds in pro. Handgun for ranged melee setups, shotgun for crowd clearing and plagas and knife in various applications for ammo conservation. Running instead of unnecessary engagement is good too. That and using certain exploits (not necessarily glitches) can really make professional doable.
I followed along with this playthrough the whole way. Watch a section, play a section. Learned some new things along the way. Such a great game. Arguably one of the best video games ever made. Appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Thanks dude!
I'm surprised you'd skip the TMP, I'd say it's the best weapon of the game, both able to set up kick/knife combos like a handgun, do crowd control like a shotgun and it has extremely high DPS if you just unload it on (mini)bosses like a magnum. You can even use the Stock to make it stable and let it work accurately at a medium range, meaning you can substitute it for the rifle in a pinch. The game hands out ammo for it like candy as well, both from prefixed drops as well as random drops when you have about 200 or less total bullets. I usually run TMP, a pistol, a shotgun and a rifle and never really miss out on the magnum.
same. tmp is the unsung hero of pro mode. I usually sell the magnum right after I get the kings grail bc thats the only time I ever really use it. tbh once you get the semi auto rifle betweeen capacity upgrades and the way they throw rifle ammo at you compared to magnum ammo the semi auto rifle is my magnum mine thrower is also horrible under rated since its better as a tool vs a weapon
I've done runs without handguns, substituting TMP in its role and I gotta say it's not too shabby. I think it better fits a melee-centric playstyle like mine rather than a spraying playstyle.
I have actually found that that the TMP is really good for dealing with dogs. The shotgun doesn't seem to be a guaranteed stun, and that brief window can cost a lot of health. The TMP basically stunlocks them though. But I love the TMP so maybe I'm biased.
Just got past the Castle. I've saved ammo too much that after defeating Salazar, I still have a lot of ammo to spare. Your guide is truly helpful man, saving me a lot of ammo on pro walkthrough
Well as a VR user, this definitely help me in passing both the normal and the professional difficulty. Seeing the regenerator in VR makes my white pants turn brown. After watching your video on how to stun lock the regenerator on the floor. The table instantly turned! Thanks for the guide
I would like to thank you cause this video inspires me to beat professional. I normally play in normal mode and after beating the game and collecting some secrets or unlockable I move on the next game. After many tens of hours playing and dying and reloading check points I manage to beat it and man I was so proud of my self beating it. Thanks for the tips and inspiration your video gives me.

Also lastly I just wanna point out, in the canyon fight you don’t even need to fight any of the enemy’s. Just run , dodge and scream “bye bye” as Dante would say and grab each half key from the chests and go. I understand what you mean by saying the ladder is the easiest way but I say the “Nike technique” is definitely the fastest and isn’t too terribly hard.
So, after you beat RE4 into the deepest ground and let us enjoy your challenges with the game for a long time (No Merchant Run, Pistol Only Run, Knife Only Run etc.), you decided to share your deepest secrets of your succes within the game on this Sunday. Praise the Lord for this amazing gift 🤣😅
The work that probably went into this guide is insane wow! It's been 2 years or so since my last Pro run and I have definitely forgotten some things and gotten rusty. If only I would have found the guide a bit earlier hehe because god the Water room took me over an hour to do (should have went for Special outfit 2 but oh well). Also not sure if this is more optimal or anything but during Praying Cultists at 35:53, I threw 1 hand grenade killing every single one of the cultists except the one in the red and by the time he got up and was trying to run for the door they closed. That being said, thanks a lot for the guide!
Thanks ^^ How the cultists are dealt with is a matter of preference. Personally I like to conserve as much power ammo, including grenades, as possible. So flashing then knifing is how I tend to do it.
This is the best, smartest, most accurate and thorough help video i've ever watched on any game, ever!! Thanks a lot!! Helped me finish pro which otherwise wouldn't.. Now pro game plus will be a treat with all the knowledge plus the upgraded weapons from the start!! Great job sir!! You've been as helpful as the merchant, if not more!!
This is an amazing guide! I have never EVER not bought and upgraded the first guns before the castle. I was left with over 350,000 PTAS at 3-2. Something else I used to do too was this. For the dogs at the maze. If you have the BlackTail and Riot Gun maxed out at the point you’re at in the game, 1 Riot Gun shot and 1 BlackTail shot kills 1 dog. So you don’t have to use 2 shotgun shells per dog. I’m not sure how much this helps, but thank you for the guide! Extremely informative. Im never buying the Rifle or TMP at the start again. Maybe the TMP if I want to have a little fun Edit: about the 1 shotgun shot and 1 BlackTail shot. Lemme rephrase. I didn’t “used” to do it. I still do.
@@skypemee4040 Yes, it's better But it's not required to use it, The moment you have the weapons available in the castle, Ganados get significantly easier.
Wow, short, concise and clear, and I really appreciate your efforts and intentions in making this video, hopefully it will be more advanced in the future, and this video will inspire me to play the resident evil game, Thank you very much 🙏👌🙂
Thanks to you, i got the prl 412. God bless you for the great guide, i couldn't have done it without you. Yeah i died 187 times and it took me about 17 hours and 30 minutes but it was well worth it.
For the second village visit, which is after meeting the Big Cheese, a way to get a bunch of easy kills is to go to the house with the metal door, directly across form the Shotgun house, and once your in, make a hole in the door. Make sure two chunks breaks off the door. This'll let you knife THROUGH the door, but the stops the Ganados from attacking you, instead attempting to open the door instead. Make the hole too big, however, and the WILL attack you through the door, so don't make it bigger than it needs to be. This can be done with all wooden doors, but its best use case is here where Plagas can't spawn, as Type One's can hit you in their flailing about. Type Two's and Three's you're probably fine against, IF you can find a wooden door. In 2-1, if you go back to the way towards The Swamp, a bunch of Wolves will attack you. You can then run back to the boat and Harpoon them for their loot. There's also some handgun ammo in the house with the typewriter I'm pretty sure. And for the cave merchant in the lake you should be able to knife the torch that has the spinel by climbing onto the roof instead of wasting two handgun/TMP ammo on it. Not too important but ammo's ammo. Just remember to pick it up afterwards as you leave. For the Chainsaw Sisters you want to skip their cutscenes so you can gain control back on Leon before they finish their Spawn In animations, buying you more time to run away and set up. Otherwise deal with them however you want. A tip for the sword room is to run upstairs and grab the gold sword first, then run quickly back downstairs before the enemy's spawn in. After you've safely delt/reset the upstairs enemies, you can swap the swords at the bottom, and then run back up and open the door before reinforcements comes, saving you ammo and health.
I completed pro mode when I was 11-12 it was a crazy achievement for me because I couldn’t imagine playing it. My first attempt I had run out of ammo and completely stuck for months so I just reset my entire game and played it more tactically and that prl412 was completely worth it
For the regenerators there's actually an easier way to knife 'em, and it's simple enough that I find it less stressful than targetting the plagas in tight spaces. You just shotgun a leg off, backstep a little, make them miss their first legless hop towards you, and then proceed to stunlock them with the knife. In order to stunlock consistently though those knife slashes _have_ to be mid-torso, 'cause if you're too low at the legs or too high at the head the regenerator has the ability to pounce up still. Some folk can consistently stun lock the iron maidens, but I ain't one of 'em. For iron maidens I definitely prefer the thermal scope + semi-auto sniper combo.
Stun-locking the iron maidens is pretty easy, just need to bait the first spike thrust. I chose to show the knifing of regenerators from behind because a lot of new players will not get the distance right for the pounce and get bitten attempting your method.
Bro thank you so much for this near flawless guide. Also the water room fight can be made easier by making ashley wait near one staircase and bottlenecking the others by hugging a corner.
Great guide bro. Just a few tips I'd like to share as well if that's fine with you: Tmp is very effective against El Gigante, just use a flash bang and spray. And since you get like almost loads amount of tmp you shouldn't have a problem with ammo The fight with the three armarduras (not sure how it's spelled) is pretty easy, that's where the mine thrower come into play. You need to line them up in a group however you can then when it's safe you can shoot a mine at them then keep your distance. Once all the plaga are out use the flash (obviously) then repeat. Tmp is also great with JJ. Same tactic with El Gigante, flash then tmp. The only difference is that JJ will never flinch so long as you aim only below his stomach. This one I can't say it's for beginners though but if you feel like you're already good at the game I'd consider selling ammo, heals and your free rocket launcher for more ptas. And lastly, for resident evil 4, there's always only two qte sequence, for the xbox it will always land on X and A or the LT and RT if I'm wrong then it would be LB and RB but I doubt it. So if there is a part in the game where it forces you to do a qte your best bet is to just mash both sequence repeatedly. (Not sure for the PS though, I know it's square and X but for the bumper and triggers... not so sure. But I know it's one of them) Anywho by the looks of it, you probably already know that, bro! Great guide again, I really enjoyed watching! It certainly will help players for pro mode. Lol to me pro is just easy now. P.S: hope this helps for some people
They're called garadors and there's not any point in the game where you fight 3 of them at once. There's one part where you have to fight two at once but other than that it's either by itself or with cultists in that room with the cage.
@@terry85mar I meant the 3 knights in the room. They're called armarduras i think. The 2 garradors before you fight verdugo are easy too on professional but I didn't mean those two lol
During the second visit to the village, I sold all of my weapons for extra storage space and then farmed eggs for like 5 hours to sell to the merchant in the tunnel. If you get lucky with gold egg drops you can buy your weapons back and still be filthy rich for the rest of the game. Great vid, btw! 😊
@@Sarcosuchas True lol I'm mostly just doing it so that when I get to Round 2 I can afford all of the special weapons without much effort. Plus, I've just played this game so many times, it's just kind of a funny way to spend my time; kind of like hitting level 100 on the island in KH1
@@vvwyvernvv4146 Fair enough; though I do find that by finding all the treasures and being conservative with which weapons you upgrade, when I reach round 2 I always have a good 2-3 million.
oh yeah i was looking for re4 content, your video never showed up on the search page, now appeared in my home page, the algorithm blessed both you and me, i'm sure i will love this long trip
For the first village section, if your goal is survivability, there is an easy method to make sure you never spawn the chainsaw enemies. The first chainsaw guy in the video (the one by the exit door) only aggros onto you if you approach him, so stay away from that section of the village. The second only spawns if you enter the shotgun house; if you never enter the house you won't have to deal with him (you can grab the shotgun after they leave the village). With that in mind, you can just do laps around the village, avoiding granados by kiting them. After a few minutes the bell will ring, they will leave, and you will have beaten it with barely firing a shot.
@6:43 I am surprised you didn't buy the bolt action rifle for the valley area. It upgrades to be super powerful, with the only negative being the slow rate of fire, and the bolt animation. With the bolt action, you don't even need to try for head shots.
Thank you for this guide, it really helped me to get 100% trophies on PS5! Hardest parts for me were 2 garradors fight, helicopter 2nd part fight and I also had some struggles with final saddler fight so I’ve bought a rocket launcher, afterwards some magnum bullets took care of him!
I remeber playing professional for the first time after multiple runs on normal for many years. Knifed enemies to death, saved alot of ammo for major fights, upgrading my favorite shotgun for the 100 ammo capacity, even saving the free rocket launcher for Salazar. (yes, i fought his right hand man the hard way, surprisingly i didnt die) The whole time, i was thinking i was gonna die to bosses, enemies i hated facing, even the final boss. I had plenty of close calls but i beat the game with only 1 death. Was it the Bella Sisters? No. How about the 2 El Gigantes? Nope. The constant traps, dynamite, and headaches that came with it? Nah. Oh, Regenerators, right? Hell no, those bastards were easy. What killed me was the fucking QTE cutscene of knife fighting Krauser!!! ALL BECAUSE I PUSHED THE WRONG DAMN BUTTON!!! Lol
Same as you , I keep restart this game because of Krauser QTE . Feel like you need some stimulant to predict what Button will press even the worse one scenario . Also getting distracted always end up Leon dead whenever you press the right button .
Jeez was this mode absolute hell but thanks to the guide I was able to get through I also wanted to say thank you for the mercenaries guides those also helped me a ton ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻
I actually only died 6 times on pro mode (3 to the salazar statue QTE, the other 3 to random BS). Quick resume on xbox really messed me up though, it kept counting game hours even when the xbox was off so my game time ended up being like 60 hours
been very helpful, thanks. i wanted to 100% that game that was my childhood, i will always be grateful of that game. first and last time my father played with me a game. that really mean something to me, what a masterpiece. i love that game.
My favorite and best weapon is the TMP. I shoot in the head or leg, then melee. High ammo count, low cost, high versatility. And it's also a boss shredder. It
I explained that in the guide though. Blacktail or Red9 for dexterity/damage. Riot Gun for damage concentration SAR for its speed Broken Butterfly for its exclusive and because its free to collect in the castle.
Perfect guide to watch with food. Look at those health items that you have in the end thanks to knight Ashley & you still have cash leftover after buying the upgrades, cases, & maps that you wanted. 1:47:10 Never seen that flip before.
Yeah, the game gives more than enough money to suit just about any playstyle if you plan ahead a little. Yeah, I should do a video on flipping the jetski, since there's the flip and the roll.
@@Sarcosuchas Yo, Im almost at the maze and you said its better to kill the dogs but is doing the "looking up" method do-able? Because im sorta low on health supplies
Great video. I finished my first pro mode run today, was interesting seeing the advanced strategies in this video. Might have to try some on my next playthrough.
Great video, lots of useful tips. Although I’m not sure why you decided to use armored Ashley’s costume. It’s kind of an easy mode, I always considered it a NG+ type of thing
Because the entire point of the guide is to make life easier for those who may struggle. Hence why I recommend unlocking it so they don't need to worry about her.
They don't do as much damage in the PS2 version, far as I know, but they're still very effective. It takes up to four Incendiary Grenades to finish off his first phase here, although I usually just use three, then fire a few handgun bullets to finish the job.
The biggest difference to me is that sometimes you can die in one hit while your hp bar is still green if it's low enough, which has caught me off guard a few times xD (I think often times you're left with 1hp first on normal, right?) but if you're good at the game, you'll probably play on the highest version of normal quite often, and in that case I agree (still an enjoyable difficulty doe xD)
Well I thought with the krasuer boss they actually wayyyyyy insanely upped his hp and not everyone can master the cheese knife technique. I’ve died literally over 60 times on that boss fight on professional and I’ve been playing re4 for years since GameCube
@@octobercameron786 There's not much to master with the knife. Mangum his feet, knife him and keep it up unless he hits you; then magnum him again, rinse and repeat.
Thank you, friend. You helped me a lot. Despite the fact that I am a Russian-speaker and do not understand English, I perfectly understood the whole guide. It made my first walkthrough very easy. I wish success to your channel in the future.
Thank you. Thank you so, so, much. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to beat Professional Mode, but I just managed it thanks to your guide. I'm bad, so I never had the stock of grenades and healing items, and I was struggling so badly for ammo that I was forced to pull out the Broken Butterfly a few times during the final large ganados battle, but I still pulled it off. So, again, thank you so much.
@@Sarcosuchas I had to make SO many concessions when it came to money and treasure: I skipped the extra Dr. Salvador in the village and the Ganados route after the cabin sequence, and I used the ammo refill from capacity upgrades to conserve ammo. I died 37 times, 8 of those to the final stage of Krauser and 6 to Mendez, and I had to resort to the rocket launcher against Salazar (for some reason, he's always given me fits). Ironically, the notorious Water Room and Novistadore levels were some of the easiest for me. Saddler also went down like a chump--I only had 2 hand grenades, but I only needed to knock him down 5 times, 3 hits with the Broken Butterfly and 2 with the knife, before Ada tossed me the rocket launcher special. But, now I get to revel in my reward and have my revenge via the P.R.L. My only regret now is that I'm not quite good enough for your guides to get me through 5-star Mercenaries, lol (the guides are excellent, I've just found that I'm not good enough to pull things off).
@@maileesaeya3614 Mercenaries just requires practice, so just keep cracking at it with my guides and other videos (high score runs and such) to see how it's done.
Even years later this guide is still surprising me, I'm doing professional to get the last trophy and i'm doing it without the use of grenades or Updating my guns at all, it makes me have to find way more creative ways to kill them and if had watched this again before the lava room i think i would have used alot less ammo if i knew i could just shot the chains off. Great job on this video man.
Thank you for this video. This is one of the best guides I have ever seen, no joke. It was kind of like having a mentor along for the ride so, Thank you. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for taking the time to make a video for beating this game on Pro. You definitely helped me along my way in completing it and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this. Thanks again and I'm leaving a like and subscribing!
Thought I knew the game in and out, you showed me at least 3 different treasures I've never heard of b4. The Antique Pipe, the scepter, and one of the red gems for the mask
I want to thank you again my dude, I wanted to complete this game on professional before going to the remake and you made that experience as smooth as possible. You're a real pro. Looking forward to seeing the remake videos! Cheers!
Idc how late I am you literally saved my playthrough with your 5-4 grenade tip, I got stuck for three hours on the triple gatling gun room and beat it first try after seeing that thank you so much, I genuinely almost threw my controller into a wall
About to start my platinum run on PlayStation was looking for a tips&Tricks Video this one just so happened to be the first one I clicked on and won’t be needing another! Big thanks for all the info and great vid!
For some reason I've always struggled with this game my whole life I had it for the GameCube so I never played it... getting hyped about the new remake this one was on sale for like $4 on Steam great video I needed this 20 years ago thank you
Thank you so much for the guide! I loved this game as kid and now I'm playing as an adult, I don't think I would have ever even tried professional mode of it weren't for your guide. Can't wait for my next run through so I can buy the typewriter and have some fun with that.
In the main village once u take care of both chainsaw men. Go to the house with the single door. Make a hole in the wooden door and slash away. You will never be hurt by them but you can mow them down for pick ups. Same when you come back. Go the the door again make the hole and get more pick ups
I don't recommend this for the first fight due to the danger of being surrounded while dealing with the chainsaw, hence why I recommend the metal door. For the next fight, this strat is fine. However, you can be hurt by them in rare cases, usually if they throw something at you.

If you use the TMP on El Gigante until his plaga is exposed. Get as close as you can and shoot the plaga 2 times in quick succession with the shotgun. Repeat the TMP to expose the plaga again. Then if you have a rifle on you shoot hime either once or twice, depending if you successfully hit all pellets the first 2 times. Saves you grenades to use later and ammo for the shotgun
Havent played this since 2020 when i last spedran it. Now after having forgotten everything i started a new game on Pro for the first time. Enjoying it, but the Cabin and the Water room almost made me quite. Thankfully i got passed em.
My first time actually doing a pro playthru. I've tried in the past but gave up on the first siege. But now with watching your vid I think I can do it for real. Thank you for the helpful tips and tricks man
2:10 First Village Fight Grab a grenade from crow in previous location. Rush to exit in north part, throw grenade without being seen by Ganados at the gate. Knife down the Don Salvador then backtrack through Ganado wave to nearest 2 floor building. Grab shotgun, grenade and ammo, then get out through window to the roof. (Be careful with 2 Ganados). Run past ladder to a little safe spot. So, you are pretty much safe. You cannot be attacked from sides or back, only from front. Use shotgun against crowds and another Don Salvador. Throw him a grenade, you picked up, try to kill him to receive 10k ptas. Shown tactic is quite dangerous: you can stagger some Ganados, but others can hit you before you recover from kick. 6:36 2 option here: 1. Stay and kick the gates 2. Snipe 2 ganados on the roof near the exit, go there and knife down anybody trying to reach you by ladder. I, personally, prefer 2 tactic because it much safer. Shown tactic is good, but, as you can see, dynamite can stagger Leon, while Ganados can grab or hit him before Leon respond. 8:30 You can take out Ganado and stagger Don Salvador with single rifle shot to the head. Another one is axethrower, take him out before Don Salvador get up. If you made shot without being seen, Don Salvador will stand up first, then start to run his chainsaw before attacking you. 9:15 Tactic here is the same as in the first fight. Go to that corner and take out anyone trying to kill you. Only difference that Ganado will wait you there, take him out fast. 10:23 Or you can simply shoot them from distance and save the grenade for a little later. +You can spawn up to 4 groups of enemies by shooting the bell. Twice from graveyard area, and twice from church entrance. 12:25 After killing 5 Ganados, horde of them will spawn from, there you came. Use shotgun to dispatch a group, watch out for axethrowers. After killing a horde, another one spawns from the same direction. P.S. On 2 round, there are multiple snakes spawning at that area.13:00 Del Lago fight. Defence over offence. That all that you should know. After this fight you can return to swamps and clear it again. Watch out for dogs, which guards entrance to the swamp. Pro tip: bite dogs (there are 4 of them), run to the boat. This dogs can attack you only from front. Throw them presents from boat. :) 14:55 Never stand like that. Wait for enemy to reach knife range, come and drop him down, then back off. Or you will receive axe in the face. 15:23 El Gigante for those, who sell grenades. Shoot him twice with Shotgun. Keep running around, use TMP or handgun to bring him down. When plaga appears, shoot it with rifle. Repeat it and he will get down. 16:29 If you kill dogs at swamps, dogs at church won't ambush you. Use rifle to snipe down them or lure them with pistol and deal them with shotgun. 18:14 Pueblo. I recommend to kill enemies in that order: kill the one, who spot you; go around the house to shed and kill another one. You should see the granny, kill her too. Go between buildings and carefully turn to the right-another enemy, probably, heard that you attacked granny. After that, go to exit to farms-all remained enemies is in front of you. Watch out for traps. Check Pueblo again for loot. 18:22 Cabin fight is one of the hardest part of the game. There is no cheese strats here. Take all loot, then crash 1 or 2 barricades. Start killing Ganados. If there are too many of them, retreat to stairs. Forget about Louis-he cannot die, but can drop some supplies, although they are not worth it-in order, to receive them, you need to be near him, which impossible. Some time later, Louis will retreat upstairs and Ganados will set ladders to access 2 floor. You can knock them down. P.S. Ganados prefer to attack Leon. Watch out, for multiple plagas.
I appreciate the input of potential alternate strategies for people to try; though I disagree with some of your assessments. Though at this point it is coming across as you just writing up your own guide in general. Why not make a video?

Always use the capacity upgrades instead for reloading your empty guns to avoid wasting ammo
I’ll upgrade my weapons whenever I want!
@Basedlander yeah it’s great
@Basedlander exactly
I always carry around 2 broken butterflys and just keep upgrading the capacity to reload them. Good times.
Omg i have to do this on normal im gonna be so fucked for professional mode lmao
Something I didn't realize as a kid playing this on my GameCube is just how useful the flash grenades are. They seriously make any group of those head parasites incredibly easy, especially that room with the six knights for the King's Grail.
Yeah, they can be very handy for clutch moments or to save ammo.
Also for the sheer amount of time the enemies spend stunned
Resident Evil 4 is one of the greatest games ever, and also one of my most favorite of all time. I played this game so many times since late 2000s, and i only play Pro Mode. Here's my tips for Pro Mode
* It js advisable to finish Separate Ways first to unlock Special Costume 2, this costume will make the game easier especially when it comes to Ashley
* To conserve ammo do the following 1. Knife enemies if possible, 2. Take advantage of exploding barrels etc to kill enemies, 3. Take advantage of dynamite throwers, 4. Memorize every corner with ammos, 5. Upgrade the firepower of guns to make them stronger and use less ammo, 6. Upgrade the capacity of guns when near empty or empty so merchant will fully upgrade capacity with free ammo
* To earn lots of money and spend them wisely... 1. Buy and upgrade only guns you'll use the whole game, 2. Always combine treasures before selling, 3. Memorize chests/boxes/portraits with no money, 4. Sell old guns including Punisher (useless to be honest) and the Broken Butterfly from castle (you never need magnums if you're good)
* Memorize location of herbs especially yellow herbs. Farm chicken eggs in the farm area, and the fish/black bass. Always carry healing items around
* Avoid unnecessary enemies to save ammo and healing
* Always buy a bigger attache case as soon as a bigger one is available
* Save the dog at the start to make it help you with first El Gigante fight. Choose the El Gigante path to save ammo instead of left path full of ganado and chainsaw sisters.
* Don't buy scopes they're useless. Buy TMP earliest, to make use of lots of tmp ammos and to rapid fire (superior than handgun in my opinion)
* In the castle onwards complete the shooting range mini game for lots of money
* To finish Verdugo and most bosses easily, just buy a rocket launcher, one shoot would kill most bosses. If you are good finding money, there's a lot of it in exess. RL will save you from consuming a lot of ammo and prolonged damage/healing
* Buy the STRIKER ASAP. this shotgun is the only weapon to grant you extra speed using the ditman glitch, also superior to other shotguns by consuming less space, holding more ammo and greater spread of blast.
* Use ditman glitch to go off bounds when fighting the two el gigante, you can kill them out of reach or just go to next area an skip the battle to conserve ammo
* Use thermal scope to kill regenerators, sell the scope after the prison area in the Island.
* QTE are now harder, concentrate hard pushing buttons and be very quick when dodges are needed
* Use Ashley to lure enemies, since she cannot he harmed.
I wasn't aware of that. Handy to know.

you have been a noob since 2006?
Exploiting mechanics like that is always a handy thing to do

this is the best guideline i've come across. i never knew you could defeat el gigante with a few grenades and a blast from the shotgun, then slashing his plaga.

Precisely
I followed along with this playthrough the whole way. Watch a section, play a section. Learned some new things along the way. Such a great game. Arguably one of the best video games ever made. Appreciate you taking the time to make this video. Thanks dude!

I agree 100%! If not THE best it is without question on the Top 5 list.
TMP just doesn't suit my playstyle really. Not to say it isn't a good weapon or anything, of course.
Man created a. Paragraph
same. tmp is the unsung hero of pro mode. I usually sell the magnum right after I get the kings grail bc thats the only time I ever really use it.
tbh once you get the semi auto rifle betweeen capacity upgrades and the way they throw rifle ammo at you compared to magnum ammo the semi auto rifle is my magnum
mine thrower is also horrible under rated since its better as a tool vs a weapon
I've done runs without handguns, substituting TMP in its role and I gotta say it's not too shabby. I think it better fits a melee-centric playstyle like mine rather than a spraying playstyle.
@@Sarcosuchas On the subject of the TMP, does anyone know why you constantly get ammo for it when you don't own the gun?
I have actually found that that the TMP is really good for dealing with dogs. The shotgun doesn't seem to be a guaranteed stun, and that brief window can cost a lot of health. The TMP basically stunlocks them though. But I love the TMP so maybe I'm biased.
TMP deals 40% extra damage to the dogs just like it does to the regular Ganados.
@@Sarcosuchas Huh, even better. So many little oddities in this game.

1 hour 47 monutes and 51 seconds of a guy telling you how to become lore accurate leon from re4. Good stuff
Thanks ^^
Leon manipulating dynamite throwers into killing off their allies is absolutely canon.
I gotta try that harpoon trick. Those dogs are an absolute bitch to kill in the Village. One bite and you're practically dead.
You can kill knights with one single sniper head shot (just circle around for the right moment) to three of them then use the flash grenade 49:43
Bro thank you so much for this near flawless guide. Also the water room fight can be made easier by making ashley wait near one staircase and bottlenecking the others by hugging a corner.
You're very welcome ^^
Great guide bro. Just a few tips I'd like to share as well if that's fine with you:
Tmp is very effective against El Gigante, just use a flash bang and spray. And since you get like almost loads amount of tmp you shouldn't have a problem with ammo
The fight with the three armarduras (not sure how it's spelled) is pretty easy, that's where the mine thrower come into play.
But I know it's one of them)
Anywho by the looks of it, you probably already know that, bro! Great guide again, I really enjoyed watching! It certainly will help players for pro mode. Lol to me pro is just easy now.
P.S: hope this helps for some people
Thanks ^^ And yeah, your tips may help some other players too.
Just kiss me al ready daddy
@@terry85marhe’s talking about the knights. The armaduras.
An incredibly time-consuming method when finding all the treasures gives you plenty of money.
@@Sarcosuchas True lol
I'm mostly just doing it so that when I get to Round 2 I can afford all of the special weapons without much effort.
Glad to know I’m not the only person insane enough to do that.
hands down best guide i have ever seen on the internet, i cannot love this channel more
Many thanks for such a compliment ^^
oh yeah i was looking for re4 content, your video never showed up on the search page, now appeared in my home page, the algorithm blessed both you and me, i'm sure i will love this long trip
I hope you do ^^
Thank you so much for this guide, it helped me so much dude. It's a great guide and also a great video, thanks for ur hard work on that!
Happy to hear it ^^
For the first village section, if your goal is survivability, there is an easy method to make sure you never spawn the chainsaw enemies.
Or just stay in the tower at a specific spot where the molotovs don't hit you.
@6:43
I am surprised you didn't buy the bolt action rifle for the valley area.
It upgrades to be super powerful, with the only negative being the slow rate of fire, and the bolt animation. With the bolt action, you don't even need to try for head shots.
I see no need for it, honestly. And the firing rate of the SAR is preferable for areas such as the Water Hall
That's actually why I always pick the bolt-action rifle-well, that and its smaller size.
Your separate ways tips made the game easier than the last time i played it in 2014 you're the best
Glad to hear it ^^
Used this guide, and survived Professional by the skin of my teeth. Thanks a ton man, professional is no joke lol.
Glad to hear it ^^
Thank you for this guide, it really helped me to get 100% trophies on PS5! Hardest parts for me were 2 garradors fight, helicopter 2nd part fight and I also had some struggles with final saddler fight so I’ve bought a rocket launcher, afterwards some magnum bullets took care of him!
I'm glad it helped ^^
Lol
Can relate to this lol
@@hardrandom4498 Not on the older ports.
I'm glad all my guides helped :3
I actually only died 6 times on pro mode (3 to the salazar statue QTE, the other 3 to random BS). Quick resume on xbox really messed me up though, it kept counting game hours even when the xbox was off so my game time ended up being like 60 hours
been very helpful, thanks. i wanted to 100% that game that was my childhood, i will always be grateful of that game. first and last time my father played with me a game. that really mean something to me, what a masterpiece. i love that game.
I'm very glad to hear that ^^
I also noticed that You can actually knife the 2 green buttons in the first cage with it
I'm aware
My favorite and best weapon is the TMP. I shoot in the head or leg, then melee. High ammo count, low cost, high versatility. And it's also a boss shredder. It
It is a good weapon, I just don't tend to use it
@@skypemee4040 its too good
I love the guide but I would also love to know the reason behind your gun selection and how it fits into your strategy.
I explained that in the guide though.
Blacktail or Red9 for dexterity/damage.
Riot Gun for damage concentration
SAR for its speed
Broken Butterfly for its exclusive and because its free to collect in the castle.
Playing on pro mode made me feel like crap, but your tips definitely helped and i just made it passed the canyon. all this for Prl
You've got this ^^
@@Sarcosuchas Yo, Im almost at the maze and you said its better to kill the dogs but is doing the "looking up" method do-able? Because im sorta low on health supplies
@@GhilliedMan Yes, the lookup method is doable but you need to keep it going for the entire maze. Remember that fire grenades insta-kill the dogs.
@@Sarcosuchas thank you so MUCH. The fire grenade tip really saved me
Great video. I finished my first pro mode run today, was interesting seeing the advanced strategies in this video. Might have to try some on my next playthrough.
Feel free to test them out ^^
Great video, lots of useful tips.
Mendez can be killed with 4 red grenades and the red barrel i think
It varies depending on the version, hence why I showed multiple ways to beat him.
They don't do as much damage in the PS2 version, far as I know, but they're still very effective. It takes up to four Incendiary Grenades to finish off his first phase here, although I usually just use three, then fire a few handgun bullets to finish the job.
If I’m being completely honest, pro mode is really not that much harder than easy or normal.
True, but some will feel the difficulty increase more than others
The biggest difference to me is that sometimes you can die in one hit while your hp bar is still green if it's low enough, which has caught me off guard a few times xD (I think often times you're left with 1hp first on normal, right?) but if you're good at the game, you'll probably play on the highest version of normal quite often, and in that case I agree (still an enjoyable difficulty doe xD)
@@unsavourylittlerunt That's a good point, in this video there's a moment I do nearly die

Not easy to condense the entire game down into under 2 hours lol
@@Sarcosuchas even speedrunners struggle to put it under 1h lmao
@@Chloey780 True, so I've managed to put a guide for all areas into that timeframe.

Glad to hear it ^^
@@Sarcosuchas I had to make SO many concessions when it came to money and treasure: I skipped the extra Dr.

@@Sarcosuchas really ? huh i never know
@34:00
The color gem the insect enemy drops, is related to the color of its eyes when you kill it.
@@Sarcosuchas I dispatch the other chainsaw man by locating him on the second floor and pushing the ladder off.... Then I pick him out of the mob easily.

@@Dominus396 Thanks, my strategies were designed around making things as simple and safe as possible for new players.

2:10 First Village Fight
Grab a grenade from crow in previous location.
6:36 2 option here:
1. Stay and kick the gates
14:55 Never stand like that.

53:00 if you shoot the enemies that warn the catapults the catapults won't be activated if you kill the enemies that warn them first
I'll need to test that
Yeah. Same with the catapults before mechanical tower. If you kill patrolling enemies. Catapults wont start
I noticed that to save 1 bullet, you can knife the blue medallion behind the barn with all the cows
You can also use the knife to get one of the Spinels off the tunnel roof after the first boulder run.
