Its even worse for me.. my husband says what do you want to do for your birthday. I say watch Eurovision 😃 Haha My birthday is 11th May 😂😂😂😂I don't want to go out for a meal not when I have been looking at all the songs being released for months on end, watched all the Pre-Parties.. birthday urm nope we can have a takeaway!!!

HAHA Loved this! I'm one of the lonely American Eurovision fans. I post things on Facebook and my friends humor me but no one I know is into it. On the bright side it starts at noon here so my days this week are planned around making lunch and then settling in. Go Baby Lasagna! I time my exercise by Eurovision songs and watched all the old ESC on TH-cam during my pandemic isolation. That is when the horrible man was president of my country so ESC was my escape. As for flags... I made myself flag flash cards to learn them!
I have found TWO whole Americans who are into Eurovision! It’s crazy, it’s party in my neck of the woods! 😂
I also am now one of like 50 Americans who can point to Estonia on a map.

If i would choose between watch a world cup game of my country (Brazil) or watch the final of Eurovision, i would prefer Eurovision.
This is so much fun 🤣 Being Canadian I can really sympathize with the Celine Dion moment, almost no one watches eurovision and I use it to try to get them interested. I'll let you know when it works for once 😭
My favourite Eurovision songs playlist will keep me entertained all the way on a flight from London to Bangkok with songs to spare for the taxi ride to the hotel.
During Eurovision week we actually run out of clean clothes and eat from paper plates as absolutely nothing gets done around here.

I used to delight in playing old Eurovision tracks on it. One day I played Salome ‘Vivo Cantando’…. My English colleagues on a little confused - but a young Spanish guy I worked with came running over to hug me and say ‘thanks for playing this - we always sing this in our house!’

Omg this was absolutely hilarious! I laughed so hard so many times because it was so real. The Celine Dion one was especially real, but also how in the early part of the year it's the worst year ever and then by May it's the best year ever (my mom sounds like that too). Also, I begged them to get rid of the juries after 2021 when they were the reason that Denmark didn't qualify but now I wish they were back because they would've helped out Malta last year (but I never say to get rid of the televote because I like that we, the fans, have something to say).
One thing that always happens with me when I talk about Eurovision (and they say they're a fan) is asking them what they thought of the semifinals and then they go, "Oh sorry, I only watch the Grand Final. I didn't even know semifinals matter." Me, trying not to show how upset I am: "Oh, so you missed seeing * insert country here * get robbed?? They should have been in the Grand Final over *insert country here.*" Them: "Uh, sure, if you say so." And then I feel awkward 😐
Non-ESC fans at an ESC party: * Talking during the performances, the green room interviews, the hosts giving the points * Us, the superfans: "Everyone out!!"
As an Irish guy now living in the US, I have a unique requirement for a Eurovision winner - "Will I be embarrassed showing this winning performance to my American friends?"

My bday is on May 21th, I've planned my "bday party" according to Eurovision week (I blow my candles at the end of the winner's press conference). Coworkers think that I'm weird because I take vacations in May and not in summer or december holydays. Btw I'm mexican

I never opted out of an important event for a NF but I have declined an invitation to a wedding because it was on the date of the grand final. It was for a second cousin that I hardly speak to so I didn't feel too bad😅. I still sent them a gift though so it's not thát bad 😂.
