Whoa!!! Me and the boys, "The five Chancells"(Dawn Records Bx NY), listened to acappella covers like this and wondered whether we should just "Give Up". But we didn't! Rehearsal can only make you better. I'm the only member who never left "Music" Steve Willette original member of The Five Chancells. I thank The Shells, The Dubs and all the 60s acappella groups who "Kept on Pushin" in-spite of The British Invasion.
Yes, Smokey's original was great, but credit is richly deserved for this Shells version of "Bad Girl." Sad to say, perhaps, but both iterations speak to real life situations for many, myself included, evoking memories we have consigned to the nether regions of our psyche. This tune draws out long-suppressed memories of certain episodes in the lives of many of us. Thanks for posting this gem.
That's a wonderful version of "Bad Girl". No bass singer too which makes it even more interesting in my opinion. Sometimes less is more, as they say in music and art.
Fine Acapella version of the Miracles classic. Every time I hear "Bad Girl" I think of my own bad girl experience from back in the day. Do we ever get over it? I guess I don't know.
Nice cover from the Miracles I love this song out to you Ray ❤😢
Nice cover of Smokeys beautiful sad song 😢❤

Smokey can be proud of the Shell's righteous rendition of "Bad Girl". Hit home with Dzilla.

I would love to hear Stevie Dunham and the Royals do this song.
Well, not Smokey & The Miracles, but a nice Acapella version of one of my favorite songs.
