"Ancient and Modern, Mystical and Temporal" "Persist through contradiction, Evolve through conflict" One hella way to perfect describe the world of Terra, and the best showcase of if you cook it properly, doesn't always be a complementary ingredient, just somehow make it the same direction.
this. the advance of tech are caused by limitation, if no such limitation exist then the advanced may wouldn't happen or take different path. what matter is whether it worked or not, if normal hunter in Terra can pull a compound bow several times the weight of british longbow then why should they rely on "advanced" tech with the same effect?
@@hermanwillem7057 The R6S crew mentions in passing they're not sure the chemical processes used to make smokeless powder on Earth - which is a lot more powerful than the Originium-derived propellant used in the local firearms - actually even _work_ under Terra's subtly different natural laws, IIRC. (RI boffins managed to cook up an analog but the results are much inferior to the ammo that came along from Earth; beggars can't be choosers tho as the Arts-blind Earthlings can't use Terran ammo at all.) Which alongside the apparently higher baseline physical performance of Terrans (the highly conditioned R6S spec-ops Earthlings were frankly startled) and their routine use of Arts to augment their weapons and capabilities - a world of Physical Adepts in _Shadowrun_ terms - no doubt contributes heavily to firearms being merely a sidegrade to muscle-powered arms in the setting.

@@oyaoya5200 fun fact: this presentation was shown before on CN Near Light stream, while global only did a 2.5 anniversary stream before Invitation to Wine starts. That's why there's no Kjerag in it
It's insane how all of that Terra is probably but a fraction of the planet they are in. The nations and factions were already interesting and there is still more to discover. I'm up for it
Terra is explained as basically the hxh world, the map that we think as the centre of everything is just a small region in the complete globe. The "Dark Continent" beyond Terra is either unexplored or already explored but nobody came back to tell the whole story of it. Fascinating enough to find it resembles hxh world so much, now i hope we reach the point of exploring what lies beyond and not prematurely getting cut in between.
The map of Terra is shown as hexes becase each hex represents a city plate for mobile cities, since even countries have to be mobile due to catatrophes and the land itself being constantly changing for map topography to be useful.
@@Kleowi I'm not sure that's quite right, for example Kjerag is completely immobile yet it is portrayed with hexagons, I'm pretty sure it's just a stylistic choice, perhaps because maps on terra are imperfect due to lack of satellites
And most of these cities are supposed to be landships, huh? It sure would be nice to actually see an animated landship, just to know how they actually operate.
At the end of the day they're just big slabs of machinery on EKSBAWKS HUEG caterpillar tracks, with buildings in the real-world style sprinkled on top (which makes no engineering sense whatsoever but let's just roll with it). Think "land-going ocean liners" and you're on the right track. A bigger question is how critical municipal logistics like _water supply_ are actually supposed to work there...
As an spanish, I love Iberia. It has influence of both our old and recent past. The religious influence and lost golden age based on sea supremacy is reminiscent of the colonial age, when the Catholic kings and their descendants ruled strong defending the faith and the empire reached the height of its power through the new world But the present isolationism and bleakness is reminiscent of post civil war spain. But of course all of it has its Arknights twists to it. I particularly love that Iberia is the first and only line of defense against Lovecraftian horrors, even after losing everything. One things for sure, iberians are stubborn in every world.
Technically it's the Aegirians under the sea that taught them seafaring engineering and that are the first line against the seaborn, but I love that with the Iberian Inquisition the Iberians have developed their own culture and way of fighting against them.
Hope we eventually expand to the entire globe to be honest, when you set up a game that basically starts at an isolated region of the entire globe for its lore, you already know that you can milk it sooo slow that it’ll take years before fans gets a taste of it lol
The land is vast, the sky is limitless, and the mountains connect the two just like a bridge connects us to each of those nations. The knowledge we learn and the one that we seek, is it what we need? Was it what we really deserved? Those are the questions that keep us moving, keep us attentive, for every step, no matter what path it takes, will lead us to what we must know. Great job at creating this narrative, Arknights and Doctors, we only saw this many places, and there's still more to come, so why not take a seat, pick a drink from the menu and accept our Invitation to Wine?
So I'm guessing that the current map that we have of Terra is all based on a supercontinent, with Bolivar and Iberia being the only places to have bodies of water large enough to be considered seas. I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong) reading a point that the in-betweens of the countries are mostly wastelands, with minor settlements dotted here and there.
This feels like a mission debriefing and I'm sitting listening pretending I understand what ex wi- i mean the esteemed dr kal'tsit is talking about... I have other things around base that require my attention! "Low on LMD again... need to grind... sanity diminishing..." *flat lined*
Not sure, but I'd quess that's because their cities were giant advanced ships that allowed them to expand into the see (quite literally, they could live and build on it) and use it's wealth basically uncontested. And that expansion allowed them to establish themselves as the major land power. Kind of like the maritime advancements of our world's Iberian powers made them richest European empires for a while. There's also something about Aegir, but I still can't figure them out.
@@SoundGuideline but they were sea powers still, looking how the Spanish and French sucked at land combat during that time (besides against the less advanced people they conquered) and the British that didn't need to worry about land combat against equal foes. The Spanish Sucession war is a perfect example where the Spanish and French got clapped on land while they probably had the best navy at the time.
@Zirpharis French were more balanced, but I get you. Still we can't really deny that both were land powers, and major. And Iberia seem to have been more advanced than it's neighbors and probably no less influencial seeing how Sargon can't even govern its western frontier properly and Siracusa is being all gangsta. Definitely enough to be an independent entity. Also, I do believe that "Marine technology" isn't just referring to the good battle ships. I recall Abyssal Hunters were also created by Iberia. But I'd need to clarify that. ... I now think the I can actually misanderstand the topic and terms in this case, due to my native language giving me funky associations.
I'm on EN so I'm yet to go through the Stulfera Navis event. It will definitely go into more details on that topic. So far I only work from Under the Tides which was like what, half a year ago?

Y'know, I usually don't mind if a game isn't open world. But man it'd be amazing to explore Terra itself.
Hope to see more of Kal'tsit Geographic
Arknights has never failed to impress me with their lore and world building. I have never played a game with much passion as I did with this game, I really hope that it will continue to grow from now on as well
Absolutely beautiful. 🥺✨
I hope in future HG reveal more about terra especially
is there a full ocean in terra?
To think there's STILL some places of factions to be introduced,I mean, look, even known factions still have hidden spots of interest lies beneath many secrets that not everyone can access, and also the catastrophe that makes the technology and their will to survive even sharper than us Earthlings,Terra is truly advanced but also kinda scary if you think about it,I mean this is Dystopian world....with such good kind of Technology style, but also even deadlier consequence of too advanced
Anyways, looking forward for more Terran Factions/Countries and this already make me wondering about Endfield's Planet (Talos-II) Lore
Indeed my friend!!!
At least we know that Siracusa's official government is falling and is actually ruled by the Mafioso, Ursus is facing a social-politic upheaval due to the changing times and power struggle between the nobles and the enterprises. We don't know much about Sami and furthermore with Higashi, except for the fact that it seems like Sami is ruled is bit of theocratic nation with their priests and shamans, while not much have been covered from Higashi...
@@rezafebriansyah8620 Higashi has been mentioned in Operator files etc. to presently be in something of a civil war, split between "Northern" and "Southern" Courts IIRC - which kind of thing happened in real Japanese history btw. Though it's apparently currently on hold as both sides recognise they lack the means to overpower the other and duly mostly just trade dirty looks over the truce line or something.
Presumably this domestic squabble postdates the beating Higashi gave to Ursus (obvious Russo-Japanese War ref is obvious) but who knows, maybe they just put aside their differences against the outsider. Or how did that Afghan proverb go - "me against my brother, me and my brother against our cousin, we all against the world".
@@broadbandislife Oh, wow...
I just learn something new from this.
Thanks a lot.
Also, I wonder a bit about Operator Shirayuki and Madam Fumizuki's past in Higashi?
Why does Fumizuki hates to be sent back there, I mean besides from being far from Wei that is...
@@rezafebriansyah8620 **shrug** Bullshit court politics and intrigue I'd imagine. Likely on a high gear due to all the conflicts of interests and loyalties civil wars engender, too.
Fumizuki doesn't strike me as the type who'd much fancy that kind of setting.
Shira aside the Higashi operators are basically buck commoner (or at most middling samurai analog) stock so their lore about the country and the conflict is duly from the grassroots perspective. Kinda like how Jaye's file isn't exactly the go-to for info on Wei's princely political machinations if you see what I mean. :P
The path ahead of Terra is not entirely certain, but it’s definitely one that will be exciting
L O R E. Y E S. Also we must now start the guessing game for Kal'tsit's password, 8 characters long, not very strong I'd imagine.

IBERIA'S FUTURE BRIGHT AS THE SUN
Looks like a Call of Duty mission presentation video this Terra regions.
We actually on duty to bring peace in Terra region (pun warning)
They could make one game each for every nation and each one would be as rich and immersive as any other game.
i like how they are trying to improve arknights worldbuilding, it's pretty nice to have this kind of video that describe how is it going.
I feel like most people at the beginning of the game thought of some post-apocalictic world where it's like this in only a few places on Terra
"Ancient and Modern, Mystical and Temporal"
"Persist through contradiction, Evolve through conflict"
One hella way to perfect describe the world of Terra, and the best showcase of if you cook it properly, doesn't always be a complementary ingredient, just somehow make it the same direction.
this. the advance of tech are caused by limitation, if no such limitation exist then the advanced may wouldn't happen or take different path. what matter is whether it worked or not, if normal hunter in Terra can pull a compound bow several times the weight of british longbow then why should they rely on "advanced" tech with the same effect?
Described the entire Terra like it was said by Ahoy
@@hermanwillem7057 The R6S crew mentions in passing they're not sure the chemical processes used to make smokeless powder on Earth - which is a lot more powerful than the Originium-derived propellant used in the local firearms - actually even _work_ under Terra's subtly different natural laws, IIRC. (RI boffins managed to cook up an analog but the results are much inferior to the ammo that came along from Earth; beggars can't be choosers tho as the Arts-blind Earthlings can't use Terran ammo at all.) Which alongside the apparently higher baseline physical performance of Terrans (the highly conditioned R6S spec-ops Earthlings were frankly startled) and their routine use of Arts to augment their weapons and capabilities - a world of Physical Adepts in _Shadowrun_ terms - no doubt contributes heavily to firearms being merely a sidegrade to muscle-powered arms in the setting.
this is not a Tower Defense game, this is a whole life journey and adventure experience..

There are still many untold stories of Terra. When the time comes, it should be known
I can't wait for 3.0, this are awesome.
Grey sword icon involving Rhodes Island in many battles and operations.
@@Kleowi i dont think thats true.

Battle of Four Emperors to Victorian Era... Sus
Can't wait for an event at Rim Billiton
And most of these cities are supposed to be landships, huh? It sure would be nice to actually see an animated landship, just to know how they actually operate.
At the end of the day they're just big slabs of machinery on EKSBAWKS HUEG caterpillar tracks, with buildings in the real-world style sprinkled on top (which makes no engineering sense whatsoever but let's just roll with it). Think "land-going ocean liners" and you're on the right track.
A bigger question is how critical municipal logistics like _water supply_ are actually supposed to work there...
Legit, Mortal Engines has _nothing_ to what these guys are on.
As an spanish, I love Iberia.
It has influence of both our old and recent past.
The religious influence and lost golden age based on sea supremacy is reminiscent of the colonial age, when the Catholic kings and their descendants ruled strong defending the faith and the empire reached the height of its power through the new world
But the present isolationism and bleakness is reminiscent of post civil war spain.
Golden age will return again! >>song from new event of Iberia.😆
Hope we eventually expand to the entire globe to be honest, when you set up a game that basically starts at an isolated region of the entire globe for its lore, you already know that you can milk it sooo slow that it’ll take years before fans gets a taste of it lol
If such world existed in real life, I would move there just to see how it feels to live in it.
If only geography classes are like this
So Ursus seems to export sound equipment to Bolivar

and thats just a single continent

Terra 2: Electric Boogaloo
Originium boogaloo. XD
This stuff is so amazing, i love it so much
So I'm guessing that the current map that we have of Terra is all based on a supercontinent, with Bolivar and Iberia being the only places to have bodies of water large enough to be considered seas. I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong) reading a point that the in-betweens of the countries are mostly wastelands, with minor settlements dotted here and there.
yes wasteland is eveywhere. bolivar got sea to their west and to their south for iberia. yan and highashi got seas to their east
Bolívar has a sea to their west? I only knew about an artificial lake in Dossoles.

"Thanks to its incredibly advanced marine technology, Iberia was once a land power" What? Why were they a land power because of a strong navy?
@@SoundGuideline well with a land power you'd usually associate sth like Russia that just overwhelms you with tanks and infantry untill you are done. Or the frontier movement in the US.
But not collonialism. Or countries like the US that use sea based technologie like aircraft carriers to bully their enemies into submission.
The Victorian Era, hu? I wonder if we witness the start of its end with chapter 9.
