Bang, straight on the gilthead, perfect. mounts Bay has some lovely marks, got my first gilt over at the Cape a few weeks ago & it was delicious. I like the look of that gun, maybe next spring
Very nice Catch Joe, I follow you since I saw you at Daniel Mann´s channel. You realy made me jelous with your last video of Azores, that must´ve been an epic trip. Regards from San Sebastián (Spain)
Greetings from Rockport, MA USA! Got out last Saturday 10/22/2022 for a nice dive off the breakwater. Managed to land a few small Pollock, one 20" Tog, and a 2.5lb Cunner with help from an Albanian friend of mine. Very nice autumnal dive with the sun shining bright and the conditions reasonably good. Very stoked to add a new page in my dive journal!
Bream has to be one of my top three’s I find it little meatier/denser than bass and more flavourful shame I don’t really catch them down where I am in South Wales
That's how I cook whole sea bream almost all the time! Sometimes adding some herbs and garlic to the veggies. Also my favorite way of preparing sea bream. Do you let the sea bream sit in the fridge for 3 days so the rigor mortis passes? Amazing content! You really show that spearfishing is not just about wahoos in tropical waters.
Thanks! I really appreciate the comment. I actually find rigor makes the flesh too firm and chewy, though for bream a day in the fridge is fine. Seabass I consider 3 days to be essential...
You got a Gilthead! Some epic headshots, great range of species Captain! Fantastic video. What depth were you at when you shot the Trigger fish? Looking forward to the next video :D
Lovely video Cpt.
The bream located delicious

Excellent video and cook up! What were the water temps? Should still be "warm" from summer I imagine.
Thanks, yes still warm we had about 16 degrees.
Hi man. Great video. Just wanted to ask if the fish is scaled or not and what temperature in the oven?
Hi Jaco, yes I descale the fish first as the skin is delicious, oven temp was 180.
Very nice video!
How deep do you usually find the gilthead?
Usually from the surface!
nice gun Joe, Maybe you can send me one. I would be the most happiest man😂😂😂
Greetings from Greece! Well done, considering the visibility! Καλή όρεξη! BTW, the skin is nutritious, tasty and succulent, if you scale it first....

Thanks boss, was a great day out! Trigger was at 23, often see them in the deep boulder fields down that way but they're usually very skittish.
😋
