Command Module also got a weapon and utility mount down grade according to the Ironclad Brochure. Current Caterpillar Command Module has two M5As, two Panthers and a tractor beam mount.
I think the Ironclad's command module will serve as a resource for the Caterpillar's gold pass in the future. Much like the Ironclad being a shared asset pool for the Kraken, it'll serve as a shared asset pool for the Cat gold pass.
At 1:17:00 give or take they are talking about modules for base defense. This is where I think argo comes in with a colab with another factory. Argo transport that carries 1 module. Each module would require fuel and would have a sheild gen maybe 1 or 2 size 1. Module for a Turret that raises out of the box. 1 for missiles, 1 for troop transport, 1 for medbay, 1 vehicle repair, 1 for a hab. And even 1 that could be a size 3 shield that covers an area so big. Allowing you to also overlap multiple shields. Options are endless. Basically setting up a FOB
I kind of see the ironclad assault as a defendable bunker/base I can land anywhere with a nursa and live out of / use as a centre piece/fallback position of my base. And also an enormous amount of potential air support to help defend against a ground attack.
I hope CIG considers tweeking the Kraken. Moving the medium flight deck area further back to add 1 medium landing pad, adding extra small landing pads further back and forward on right side of Kraken as well as adding extra usable area /sq footage in wider section below flight decks. Just some TLC!
Didn't hear that the Assault doesn't have tractor beams on it either... based on the model at least, in addition to not being mentioned like on the deck plan of the base Armored Cargo version. Basically the command bridge seats for the tractor beams are NOW for operating the extra turrets in my opinion.
So with an Iron clad assault and a liberator you could launch a hot vehicle ground assault with sustained air support on a position on any planet, would be amazing game play for an org.
The need for Medium landing pads is generally not a high as for small. Why? Mediums have a more significant range so don't require the quantum ride or refueling like most Smalls.
The command module is lightly armored. (if at all) You only need to destroy that. Apparently without it, the ship is useless. And, IF the Assault's roof doesn't open at all, why not just make that area a landing pad for ships up to the Cutlass? ;)
next time put the iron clad next to the liberator . and stick a cutlass on the liberator back end. u may see someing. allso whoud be nice to see if a hornet MK2 fits at all
RSI wall dont fall inwards, they fall inwards in the corridors, this being said, in Polaris the wall surrounding the hangar is VERTICAL, check the videos please.
Awesome Polaris LTI Giveaway! I entered and good luck to everyone! 👍😎👍 P.S. Twitch Point not working for me either. All the other entry points worked fine for me.
39:55 "Damn near everything..." I really hope you are wrong about the Ironclad module being the "new" module. Unless its purely cosmetic. The Ironclad module as a single s2 turret and a bunch of jump seats. The Caterpillar modules has 4s3 weapons, a tractor beam, and is a fully functional ship in all regards, mess, bathroom, two weapon racks, etc. It would be a real shame if the Caterpillar went the way of the Dragonfly and CIG just starts gutting its features in lieu of production speed. 1:04:29 Why is Exe always trying to make this a transport ship. It's a Cargo ship, it's to cargo, to move cargo from A-B with some other potential. The fact he said something about making the ship thinner for a landing pad. No. That is not the purpose of the ship. I will never understand the fascination of people trying to make cargo ships into carriers when we have ships built for ferrying vehicles already. Edit: Also, noted you spoke to the VTOLs on the bottom, but didn't mention the smaller rotating ones towards the front. You can see them rotated in some of the images.
I am having the same issue with Twitch. Following and can't get a +1. I am waiting to see the ironclad in the game. We need more use cases for using these huge ships.
Just buy a CCU and forget about it for 2/3 yrs, its pointless having any discussion, you'll either buy what CIG deliver......or you won't, and after all, its just a kitbash, something the devs threw together. for a sale
BTW who says the command module is not also armored. its a game. then can make that command module as armored as they want it to be at any time . odd known one thought about that. maybe thats why they say u don't want fly it around allot. all that armor may make the command module heavy. if they were to up armor it .
Base model's red is too brown. The brochure is much much redder. The sales site does have it looking pretty brown, but I think the way you have it isn't correct.
Love the channel and grim, but I can never listen to ex theory craftings. It always seems so out there and in the few cases I’ve listened on space tomato and here just wrong a lot but speaks so matter of fact.
Yup, speaks like his theories are official cig release. The modules on the ironclad and cat are likely different since the cat is crew of 4 and ironclad is crew of 6. Maybe 2 more beds.
Fast forward through 23minutes!! Of fluff to actually get to the subject matter. You’re welcome
But I always go to Starjump to watch his wonderfully done videos while getting ready.
LOL, thanks!
Thx
the ship that never will be lmao like so many other ships in SC
thanks! another streamer that just clips and shits out hour+ footage from their low effort stream to youtube as "content"

They have already said that they are interchangeable.

38:43 I like that idea Large and Capital Data Runners.
Fantastic show as always! Gr8 insights on the Ironclad.

Thank you for this video. All the information available in the moment on the Assault.
There are quantum drives but no jump drives. Only jump modules that modify the quantum drive and allow it to navigate jump gates.
Fantastic job to everyone involved in the Cinematic..
So with an Iron clad assault and a liberator you could launch a hot vehicle ground assault with sustained air support on a position on any planet, would be amazing game play for an org.
Great job on the cinema presentation! Been watching thru Invictus
Has the Drake Ironclad Q&A answers/FAQ come out yet? I.e. cig detailing info on ironclad etc
Question: Will the Assault varient door open?
CIG Marketing dept: Yes we will sell more if it does.
You have your answer. Your welcome
Landing a ship on the upper hangar doors makes having the side cockpit more viable.
Just like real hangar doors, the 3 doors will retract beneath the drake logo area on both variants
Everytime I watch this kind of cinematic video of SC I always wondered, what kind of supercomputer are you running it with?
Starts at 10:11
The need for Medium landing pads is generally not a high as for small. Why? Mediums have a more significant range so don't require the quantum ride or refueling like most Smalls.
Its smaller than I thought. It's only as long as the Catipillar. It's like 2 Cats sided by side
That’s why they call it faterpillar.

MkII fits easily

The videos clearly show a slight slant in the hangars too. Check the newest videos.
Awesome Polaris LTI Giveaway! I entered and good luck to everyone! 👍😎👍

Interesting. i will look into this today thank you for the heads up!

I would love to see this full of saddlebags from the mining ships
Omigod. Had to check out on that hard G every time he said "hanguher" for hanger. Otherwise, looked like a good vid.
Who won the polaris? Can't find the video anymore. Was stuck at work, so I couldn't watch the live. :(
Awesome ship, game and content!

Execute highjacks another stream.

Really good video, enjoyed it alot!!! o7!!!
Hey grimm i cant remember what video it was but youd mentioned that someone had Perseus for sale. Not sure how to get in touch but im interested
The command mod should be the same it makes the most sense for drake
This kills the Hercules C2 with almost double the cargo space.
Nothing kills nothing. Not everyone buys for the “meta”. Design style outweighs this in most cases.
Base model's red is too brown. The brochure is much much redder. The sales site does have it looking pretty brown, but I think the way you have it isn't correct.
Drake manufacturer is missing a heavy fighter lineup
You should add noise removal to your stream because your keyboard is making its way onto your stream.

Does the hornet fit in the assault variant?
32 Marines + 32 Titan suits, not bad at all
noone said the inronclad was an capital. and if someone did, please gib link.
23:56 ….you’re welcome
Great video!
Awesome Polaris Giveaway
