¡Que gozada de canción! Perteneciente a su "Tough it out" de 1989, hicieron una gran versión de este tema también interpretado con muy buen gusto por el amigo, ahora amiga, Mark Free (ahora conocida como Marcie).
The song was written by me, my mom and Tony Sciuto. At the time Mark Free was in another band so it was just a demo, there was no talk of him releasing it, we did the demo to pitch to other bands. Well, we tried to make it as rocking as we could for a demo! CBS/Epic Records at first put it on hold for the band Bad English, but decided it be better covered by FM. We got the word they were going to record it and you know the rest....
This is the real story, the backcover of my Indiscreet/Tough it out cd, beside name of the song have (Randall/Randall/Sciuto) i've been searching for this information, thanks, and nice to meet you.
***** Hi Tito...Thanks for the info. Yeah, I was there at this performance. I was playing keys, but apparently was at an angle where I did not make it onto the filmed footage, at least never that I have seen.
i actually went to this video shoot. it was filmed at brixton academy 4/09/89. not a gig just the band miming to the song. but i think the band did play a couple of songs for the fans who went, bad luck and don't stop if i remember correctly. i was down the front but not on the vid. thanks to you tube ,this is the first time i've seen this
Thank you all for the very wonderful comments! I miss those days, these incredible voices and this rock music. In this day and age of auto tune and bells and whistles, none of these singers ever needed any of that.
I saw them 3 times in 1986 ! To this day the BEST 'live' act i have ever seen !!! 'Indiscreet' & 'Tough It Out' are in my Top 5 fav albums - I was lucky enough to meet the boys recently, some 20 years later, and chat about old times !
AWESOME FM !!!! Britains most underrated group of the last 25 years just sublime rock music pure genius ................ thanks guys for still spreading the gospel see ya at the robin 2 in May.
The song was originally wriiten by Robin Randall. FM used this song and so did Dianna Dewitt on their albums. Mark Free worked with Robin Randall to create a solo CD. In essence, none of these bands actually "wrote" the song. It was Robin Randall originally. The band airkraft also covered the song.
FM are opening for Foreigner & Journey in Belfast tomorrow night (12th June 2011) and I am going so came on to check them out and am very impressed.Actually glad it is them and not Styx (like the rest of the UK tour). Can't wait!!
FM RULEZ...They are the one of the most underrated bands out there..They kicked ass in Firefest Festival..I was there and I will remember that forever...The guyz couldn't believe the reaction of the crowd!!!
FM's without a doubt one of the best bands ever. Alltough the 90s albums a slightly less interesting compared to the first 2. Steve Overland is just great. Altough this is a 10 out of 10-song it is Mark Free's version who makes me feel the way "likeavirgin87" descrbied it; "Oh My God that's amazing!!! I almost cry everytime I hear it! Thanx for post it!"
This band should have been huge!! They had the perfect mix of melody and rock, and my God their ballads were amazing! To top it off the voice of Steve Overland, no words can describe his vocal talent.
@robinr1564 OMG !! Are you Robin Randall !?!? I have really loved this song (Both version of Mark Free & FM are awsome) !!! I have never had a chance to hear Diana version . I really appriciate you making such beautiful song !! And I am happy to hear your episode .
I co-wrote this song with my mother,Judithe Randall and friend, Tony Sciuto.Mark Free and Diana did a demo of the song for us. At first it was going to be recorded by Bad English, but then we were told by CBS Records that they decided on FM, then it was given to FM to do.After that it was released on Mark Free's solo record and Diana's version was released on our Venus and Mars album. Thanks for posting this....People said "take out the strange modulation" but Tony and I stuck to what we wanted.
edit: Ok I've read Robin Randall comment so thank for the real story. Hey Robin, can you tell me if your original version was supposed to be so rocking as FM do ?!
wow! no conocia la cancion pero por lo visto parece que es una buena banda de AOR yo conocia mas bien las basicas....toto, asia, giuffria, journey y dare pero esta tampoco esta nada mal te felicito....por cierto la cancion originale es de FM no?
Steve Overland has always been superb. Ever hear the band WILDFIRE? He shudda gone solo. His voice has qualities similar to Jon Butcher and a harder Mike McDonald. Steve maybe still has the potential to try a different direction and could still be a wow. I do hope so.
No, his brother Chris does the lessons. Steve's mum lives round the corner from me! I have also owned a few other guitars played by Steve and seen in many of the vid's. Steve and Chris had a band called Wildlife before FM featuring Simon Kirk (ex. Free)on drums. Steve and his brother also worked in my local guitar shop - I used to go in there and marvel at their guitar skills. Those boys were shit guitarists from a young age.
tienes razon, esta version esta tan recargada de arreglos vocales y de fraseos del vocalista que pierde su melodia principal que es la que hace que se te ponga la piel de gallina, larga vida a Mark Free
Rock melodic, powerfull voices, very instrumental, with guitar solos for example. Other famous bands from 80,s playing this kind of music like Europe. When you see a long hair band, there it is at this time.
I like Mark Free's version better... I think he / she has a better voice. Not to put down FM at all, I enjoy their music very much, also. But I think Mark Free does it better.

AOR= Album Oriented Rock, or adult oriented rock. Great song =)
I miss Nark Free!!
this was written by mark free or FM??
Mark Free from King Kobra?... i love he\she
The best version, without doubt.
Mark Free's is cool too though
Yeah, Mark Free (not Marcie Free!! :-( ) is great, also Steve Overland!!
Didnt Mark Free write it inititally?
Sounds a little like Micheal Bolton bk in his Rock n Roll days..
Impagable el video, BUENISIMO
AOR at its best
this is Mark Free?
mark free's version is cool too, but i think i like this one a little bit better
FM did write this
@AORRADOR

Now since when does Neal Schon sing this well? The lead singer looks exactly like Neal Schon

larga vida a Mark Free
