I think the biggest mistake I made in a garage is trying to fit every single man cave idea into a 2 car garage. Gym, boxing equipment, laundry, car lift, bicycle, tool box, shoes, tv entertainment, 2 parked cars, and storage. It's just a nightmare and I literally outgrew my space with no place to expand
@@ZeroToAwesome they're like sweeat tarts. Just a miniature black hole sucking your face down into a single pin sized dot.... You really don't want to try them, seriously!😐
If the problem is that your hose is not long enough, there is a simple solution to that. Get the 35 ft hose and also put the vacuum higher on the wall, and put a hose hanger were your vacuum is currently located so the hose is not on the floor. The attachments can be hung too. there is one even better solution and that is to put the vacuum behind the wall and pipe in to 4 convenient locations in the garage.
This is a solid option, will need to add a in-line power switch somewhere in the equation because the switch on the vacuum is at the top but I’m going to be doing some measuring later today…
@@ZeroToAwesome A power switch is a great option if you can fish the cable down through the insulation on the exterior wall. I convinced the wife that she needed central vacuum that we could install when we make over the kitchen. Over the summer we redid the kitchen and I put the vacuum lines from the upstairs down the interior kitchen wall so that we cover both floors. So, we will have the central vac in the basement, and as a bonus, two lines through the concrete wall into the garage. One in the back, and one near the door of the garage. Central vacuums are great when they serve your purpose.
Using a tent as a paint booth is genius! I’ve always just bought a bunch of tarp or drop clothes and cover everything I don’t want to get painted. A portable/collapsible “paint both” looks to be a way smarter way to paint inside the garage. I’m gonna steal your idea
Love the wall control systems I’ve bought. It’s expensive, but it looks good. Appreciate your honesty about the hammer drill - the kind of mistake I would make.
I should have gone with Wall Control, I’ve heard great things about their solution and found out recently they have clearance/outlet sections where they sell scratch & dent stuff. Would probably work out fine for my garage.
Are we long-lost brothers.... so many of the same mistakes!!!! Great video!!!! (And thank you for not making this quick and not way too long.. Great pace on the production side!!!)

My addiction is 1/4" driver bits. I have this problem that when they are on sale and you get a bunch and it's all in a fancy little bit holder box , something in me snaps and I have to click the buy now button. It's an addiction and I know it but I can't help it. I keep telling my wife when the shoebox gets full I'll get some help.
You’re doing ok. What have you learned? Well, you learned to do a little more research before you get the next tool. Happens to everybody. About the vacuum, some companies make the retractable reel for water/ air drops around the shop. I’m pretty sure there are ones for vacuum hoses too. Maybe you could get a pedestal type mount or a ceiling mount to get it off the floor. Worth looking.
Someone had a comment about mounting it higher up on the wall to keep the hose and vacuum together. I think mounting it up high along with a vacuum reel might be the answer!! Thanks!
to be fair, this the first time I've seen an SDS drill that lacks hammer function, I had no idea they make them and if I was buying one I wouldnt even bother to check if it has all three functions.
I’m surprised you don’t like the Omni wall. I went with wall control and I really like it. The toughest part was getting all 6 panels straight so that it looks nice. That really wasn’t too difficult. The expense for the accessories though are similar.
If that's the 1000 psi 60v Dewalt pressure cleaner I want it! Perfect for routine cleaning off outdoor furniture, small areas of siding if you pre spray a detergent, and enough to attack a foam cannon to do a vehicle or 2 without needing an extension cord or a full gas setup.
Griots foam cannon, it works fine on the big PSI pressure washer. Their snow foam is pretty thick compared to some of the others so maybe something a little more watered down would work.
I just bought the same rotary hammer drill here in Australia. I knew it didn't have the hammer only mode which I was OK with. Where did you get the chuck adapter from - I'm having trouble finding one. Cheers.
That roto-hammer should work. I have a corded milwaukee SDS roto-hammer one (smaller sized SDS+) that I beat out two 9x13 tile from the floor using a chisel bit. Took forever with a 3 inch chisel (biggest you can buy for that SDS+) You put it in rotohammer put pressure on the bit. Works well. They work well for drilling holes in concrete. Mine has more than paid for itself. For shower walls I use a small sledge though. just easier. Would like a corded one. Going to have to take off some epoxy pebbles from my front and rear porch, but it's so large going to use a larger blade and borrow or rent a SDS-max one that is more HD. As for the Pressure washer. I don't want a gas one. I don't need another carb to clean! My electric on is decent. Works for cars and bike. Things here and there. OK on concrete, but you won't win a race against a gas one. Owned about 7 years now. No issues at all. Just use it and put it up... no fuss at all. If I need more.... I will rent a larger pressure washer or hire it out.
Technically it's an SDS+ hammer drill, not an actual rotary hammer. I call BS on DeWalt for calling it a rotary hammer. Very misleading. Worse that it uses proprietary bits, and not standard SDS+ bits. I would have returned that thing in a hot second.
I use a similar battery pressure washer to clean the lichen and grime from headstones at the cemetery. You don't wanna use anything too powerful, so these work perfect.
I tell my wife of 34 years that I'm never wrong you just didn't ask the question I answered. So when she says "is it raining?" And I say "nope" and she goes outside and gets drenched I just say "I was answering should I leave the umbrella home?". Simple
No no no, it’s so bad and only to be used as a punishment! (But also it’s made by Martin House Brewing in Ft. Worth, TX. Not sure how far they distribute.)
Dude a hammer drill and a rotary hammer are two different animals. A lot of people make that mistake. And if you’re only going to use a rotary hammer occasionally, harbor freight rotary hammer would probably work just fine. Otherwise invest in a Bosch. Bosch makes the best rotary hammer bar none. 🤔 Did I just fall for “Click Bait” ? Good job 😂
Those big blue/green Bosch rotary hammers are amazing. My corded dewalt “hammer drill” has the hammer only selection and I was too dumb to read the details and see that this one did not.
First of all it’s sad you need clickbait. Secondly, it’s sad you’re not intelligent enough to understand what actual tools are used for and blame the company. Your lack of any tool knowledge is astounding. Half the tools you own are for the wrong purpose and are the wrong tool.
This guy is a joke and WRONG about all of this. He's just a homeowner tool junkie that. Goes out and buys tools without doing proper research and understanding what a tool can do or its limitations. The drill was the cheapest you could buy without finding out what it actually dose. The vacuum you dont like just cuz it dosen't fit YOUR space and didn't think about what it will take to set it up before getting it. The sparyers all have their place and proper use and sounds like were not used properly, like the bottom hopper gun is for automotive paints, the grayco requires understanding how to use a airless. The wall system is still better then the old school peg board as far as i am concerned (ripped a lot of it out over the years for newer systems)

Ugh, seriously it is SO bad.
Can't be half as bad as linenkugels fruit flavored beers. That is positively the worst fluid i have ever tasted in my 59 years on earth!
We are going to have to track these down for purely scientific reasons

It’s actually a cheap “paint booth” from Amazon, but basically just a little camping tent with a hole in the side to pass your air hose through.
I think that's genius. You can get cheap used tents to. Wouldn't matter if it leaked either.

That Austin Healey looks EXACTLY like one my dad "restored" in the 90's and sold about 15 years ago.
Where was he located? It was restored by a guy in OK around 2012 and sold to a woman in Dallas who I bought it from a few years ago.

I've been there and to be honest, I'll probably get suckered into more tool mistakes because I just can't help myself.
I think there's a trial period with DeWalt tools; and you can return them within 30 days for a full refund--even if you just don't like it.

I’ve never gotten it to produce enough foam out of my foam cannon. Still dragging out the big pressure washer for that.
@ might actually be the cannon or the size tip of the cannon. What are you using? Did youtube research and realized why most of them suck.
Griots foam cannon, it works fine on the big PSI pressure washer. Their snow foam is pretty thick compared to some of the others so maybe something a little more watered down would work.

It was on Amazon for about $20. Not certain what the Amazon shopping/shipping situation is down in your neck of the woods.
You have an air compressor, so you could have purchased a HF air impact hammer kit for $17.00 to remove the old tile.
Still have one shower left in the house to Reno, this is a great idea!

Drills great holes but I needed the 3rd “hammer only” switch that my corded one had. I put the chisel bit in and it spins around and around.

For something that can’t be too powerful it makes a lot of sense!
Most headstones are Granite, so homeowner level pressure washer should be OK.
