    The fade-in and fade-out effect gives a cool look and feel to electronic projects. I made two simple analog fade-in fade-out circuits to control multiple LEDs. It can also be used for you car dome light or for off-delay security light.

    Superb! Thank you. I was looking for a nice fade in/fade out. This looks great!

    Thankyou for sharing this circuit, setting the standby current for the LEDs was something I couldn't on any other circuit! I'm assuming the "on" current for the LEDs can be changed as well by adjusting the resistor between them and the transistor, is this correct?

    its circuit is simple but very interesting for me to work with professional lighting with LEDs will incorporate it into my desk RGB Controller

    well i made the more sophisticated one and the values of the parts are near the same and it works great and it's hard to make it so thanks alot :D

    @RafaelMarrero86 You wanna make a toggle switch and connect it to this circuit. Use a flip-flop connected as a toggle switch.

    I will be using the simple form of this circuit, as I am not concerned with adjusting the fade rates. However, my power supply will a 9V "wall wart" adapter. Can you tell me what my values will need to be for the components running on 9V vs. 12V?

    after many hours of interneting this is exactly what i am looking i just want to use a single red led to mount in a valve socket for a preamp i am building it just to give a bit more "glow" i need a fade in and out time as long as possible any suggestions

  • @pcbheaven
    @pcbheaven  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @RafaelMarrero86 a toggle switch is one solution to your problem indeed. But you can use an RF flip-flop chip and connect it as a toggle switch, and then use a simple pushbutton which will work as a toggle switch. Search for "flip flop toggle switch"

    i was also wondering, from your LED flasher circuit, if we can add a capacitor and a diode in parallel to the LED array, it would give them a fade in and out effect right?

    I would make the same with 5v battery and 2led, in particular 3watt led. is it possible?

    it is great work, i was build a saber light from star wars to play with my son. i make work a led tape only with help of batteries of 12 volts (of alarm car), but i need to ad a special effect when i turn on the lights (like you show on the video) but i dont have a protoboard to build that circuit, and i don't know very much electronics how to use it (hahaha) ¿could you publish the same video but in a impress circuit? or (more easy) explain how to build that circuit without help of protoboard.. however thank you! i will see you web page... (sorry my english, i spanish spoken)

    @dedasdude i am working also on a mind reading device and i read your mind :D xD
    As a matter of fact, i will use this circuit for my coffee maker (maybe) and my PC (for sure) as well ! I'm glad you like it. I first designed it with a PIC, but i came to the conclusion (somehow) that: 1st it is an overkill, 2nd simple solutions should be given when possible and 3rd PICs tend to make me "lazy" and i should think analog once a while.

    If you are still around, could you help me size this for 12v, 250 mA with approximately 3-4 seconds fade in and out? :)

    How would you do like the same but in a
    sequence? So first light on ,as it fades out the second fades in and so on for the 3 LEDs.

      pcbheaven awesome work. Since im noob con electronics I just can say wow. Is there a way to simplify it?

    • @pcbheaven
      @pcbheaven  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      felipe chaves you need a multi channel PWM source, so this is already too simplified.

    Better use 4 transistors and not 1. 4 banks of 3 watts means 12 watts of power that will have to be dissipated with a HUGE heatsink
