Yes I remember when I was younger there used to be a little pink caterpillar roller coaster and it wasn’t called “fort fun” it was called “Rockys” it’s so sad what happened to it, me and my friend are at the beach opposite it now and we just looked at it, all the slides are broken and on the floor :c
This is such a shame to see. Some kids in my primary school class used to have birthday parties here and it was such a blast to try out the attractions such as inflatable balls, the water park (which actually wasn’t even that old to begin with) and then of course there was a horseback that I remember was really fun. It is such a disappointment that everything is sat abandoned because with a little upkeep and renovation it could be great! When I drove past this place on Monday 12th February, I was so sad to see the water park completely gone and of course the slow process of the main area being dismantled. I had such great childhood memories here, but from what kind of heard they are thinking of having an indoor play area and a place for extreme sports. Not getting my hopes up because again, councils love flats, but maybe we might get lucky. Fingers crossed🤞🤞
Also in the section that you said you couldn’t remember what was there, I’m pretty sure it was different little buildings that had ladders, so kids would pretend the be police officers and fire fighters
Fort fun was brilliant used to take my children alot up until it closed. They actually re did the inside it was lovely. And the part you wasn't sure what was there outside, used to have a small village with wooden shop / police station / fire station etc with ride ons etc. They also used to host party days there where the staff would do disco & games with prizes & balloon modelling etc. It was such good value for money! Miss it lots. 😪
When I was younger this was one of the places I went to, it had plenty of rides and was half decent…there were lots of people I remember in the summer. It actually got brought by a company named partyman. When I left secondary school they got a load of teenagers go paint the fence so it was cheaper for them to do… I was one of them👀
Have not been here before, looks like it was a nice place to visit when it was in its hay day. With the sea views, that alone makes it attractive place to be. Sad to see these places shut down and dissapear, especially having kids myself, they love to play out on stuff like this. They love soft play centres which we visit a lot. They also love theme parks, however near us, 2 of the most known parks (Camelot and Pleasure Island shut down, one of them I visited when I was a kid....I'm 46 now, even visited it many times over the years as part of my job. (During school holidays, Half terms, Easter and summer we set up fun days for kids, free for them). This big park closed for good and left quite a large gap in the theme park business in the area meaning those that were left open got more custom. Unfortunately some places are to far away for some families to travel to. Your spot on saying theirs less to do for kids these days, on some estates they aren't even allowed to play football on the streets despite thier being loads of grass. We had several conversations with the local clowncil in regards to giving the kids somewhere to play football that had lighting, but to this day, they still have kept saying that the kids can play on the sports centre pitches, which are not free! Many of the kids I work with, thier parents can't afford to pay for pitches, they live hand to mouth mostly. I will keep fighting for them, will keep doing my job to the best of my ability. Keep up the uploads, you did well not getting chased off! Look forward to the next upload. Stay safe and well!
I’ve been here before, if it was the one in Eastbourne then definitely. I can believe it is because of the view and the houses next to it telling me yes and the way it’s set out. I don’t believe it’s actually abandoned they’re just leaving it there for the future idk if it’s already reopened

Thank you for the information on that part as it had changed a lot from when I was younger

Yeah it definitely is I’d recognise it anywhere! Always sad how it got abandoned like this :( hope they redevelop it at some point
It’s opening back up in 2 months time
That'll be amazing, hopefully itll be as good as it used to be in its heyday....fingers crossed itll go really well for the new owners 🤞
There used to be cars and houses in that area with just the sign ive been to this place many times its hard to see people graphetti it and destroy it
Adding on to this the water park was the best sad u cant turn it on as its all boarded up
The water slide area used to be go-carts
Thank you, wasnt the outdoor soft play area where the rollercoaster was?
Also this place isnt abandoned the eastbourne council are doing something with it
went here yesterday
no slides
no anything really its a big mess now
Yeah I heard its all been cleared now, it wouldn't surprise me if a block of flats are built on the site in the near future 🤔
kids are getting less and less of outdoor entertainments and the prices are disgusting
Exactly that 👍
