PSA to everyone. the madness dudes with the big yellow heads can be killed via parry and riposte. the one closest to the church drops the "aged one's exultation" a talisman (madness in the vicinity increases attack power). and they don't respawn. the rest just drop grapes

The actual Reason its gets the combo is the frame data is. for some reason 2 frames faster than the godslayer sword, while also seemingly having a larger hit box

They used old og elden ring data, if I remember correctly godslayer on release had the same thing on it (beside range obviously) , so probably without looking at updated version just copy pasted it. Similarly how they accidentally nerfed back omen cleaver r2 speed to og version way back in 1.10 and didn't notice since.....

Winged serpent helm gives another 10% extra damage to fire knight skills like the flame skewer
The enemy who drops the flame spear ash of war, also drops a helmet that has a small bonus to "fire knight skills" my testing says 10% damage but I could be wrong. It 100% works on flame spear and flame skewer- not sure about redmane etc etc. I think we'll see a lot of it in pvp when people find out.
There's actually a lot of helmets that give lesser talismmen like buffs in the dlc, most of which hinder your flasks or lower your status resistances ^ this one does not. Just a flat bonus to your ash.
As one of the comments said ↓ the regular fire enemies in the shadow keep have a chance at dropping their helmet too. Although it looks goofy, it gives a minor FAP ring boost, it gave me around 11 health and stamina, and 6.7 equip load. (60 vigour, 35 endurance).
(I think this design changed is interesting, you can tell more about a player's build off of their armour and weapons just at a glance, more than you could do in previous titles anyway. Wonder if people will adopt the stat boosting armours or ignore it entirely)
I'll update this if I find any more relevant stat-armours in the dlc

@@Invader_Hex no no, that's the other one. The pointed hat helmet dropped from the regular version of those enemies does that. And it is great, same buff and the base erdtree favorite

Chase, have you seen how OP Rolling Sparks is? It's what almost one shot you yesterday from the madness perfume bottle, and it might be even more OP in the lighting perfume bottle! I'm curious to see you play around with the perfumes, they're so OP right now!
In terms of damage, the lightning bottle can one shot some of the bosses in the dlc. There´s a video of a guy killing the final dlc boss in less than 15 seconds with it.
Dunno if it´s viable in pvp though.
I'm saying again, the madness one almost one shot chase and insta procced him with madness, the lightning one could oneshot someone if the build was more optimized with magic shrouding cracked tear, lightning scorpion charm etc@@randomstuffzofdoom

Holy shit the aggro distances must have been increased like crazy. The host running around aggroing ever single enemy possible was hilarious.
I equipped the Shabriris Woe talisman to help my friend against the madness boss and then continued on my own adventure, and wondered why everybody in a 5 mile radius was running up on me 😭

It actually has a pretty decent amount of hyper armor. The issue is that it's quite slow so you'll die if you try to use it in pvp outside of duels. It absolutely slaps vs the pve though, and carves through most of the dlc.
@@joshuakim5240 have you used it recently? Unless they did give it hyper armor in the new patch, which I didn't hear of, I've been knocked out of the ash plenty of times. Ever since the poise changes I have never been able to actually hit the damaging part of the ash

I have the Shadow of The Erdtree 1.12 Hyper armour poise values for weapons and other changes on the elden ring pvp reddit if anyone wants to know the exact poise break points for hyper armour and passive poise.
I love it. I hope they don't nerf the damage too much, and just tweak it to be a little less oppressive in PvP.

@@anitaremenarova6662 It can still be viable. Also, I said that because even if this thing is changed so it has the same speed as the Godslayer's then it still has the true combo R1-R1. Just harder to land.
SO many new weapons, weapon types, weapon arts, spells, incantations, and all... I still haven't even seen the half of them. This is so awesome... just never knowing what someone is likely running again. That feeling of early days in this game are so epic. Everyones still learning and figuring it all out for the first time.

Wait, this has the Godslayer Greatsword's R1's!? I am no longer sad this isn't a Light Greatsword.
It's just straight up the best colossal sword in the game even once they'll remove the true combo. Godslayer R1s, Zwei R2s and matches GUGS in damage once you buff it since thanks to the innate fire damage not all of it will get negated by flat defense.

I can look forward to knowing that by the time I get this sword it will be nerfed to the point that it is unrecognizable.

Personally I've found the backhand blade to be very strong, Blind Spot AoW can counter most attacks an enemy can do, while the likely roll away after you poke them with that can be caught with the very strong running attacks it has. Very fun on an assassin cosplay too! Keen to see you try it in invasions.
blind spot is broken considering the s it gives...not as broken as swift slash tbh, but still broken

Chase, this actually isn’t the best way to build it. Make it flame art and scale it with faith. Fully buff stacked, mine gets to almost 2k attack rating. If you read the description, it says fire infusion will bring out further power, and they aren’t kidding :)
Hope to see you use Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword soon, the weapon looks so cool, and the weapon art is fun, and it has the zweis heavy poke
The AoW on Gazing Finger is absurdly strong! You get a heavy attack hit plus a chargeable knock up cone. I absolutely love it!
Been using this with flame art affinity, Alexander’s great shard, Godfrey icon, fire scorpion charm and fire knight helm and was doing around 5k damage to bosses with the ash of war

to protect my host because a lot of invaders I've run into just make a beeline for the host, so if I disguise myself and act like I want to run they usually think that I am the host

It doesn't work nearly as well as you think. Not only can the invader tell who the host is by the names as they're summoned in, but a host with a rune arc active will have a symbol next to their name that gives it away. Really, the trick mirror's purpose is nothing more than drip.

It does work as well as I think because that is generally what happens when Im doing that kind of stuff, otherwise I wouldnt have said so. Now it wont work for people who invade a lot or tryhards, but it does work the bulk of the time I use it
@@remn8636 The only people it works on are bad at the game and you would've won just by walking at them and pressing r1 anyway, you would be better off using a talisman that actually has an effect

Man i love this sword, It has the perfect move set for its size, when i saw that the zweihander which Is usually as heavy as a greatsword had the same moveset of the ultra colossal greatswords i was quite upset, im glad they made this sword

i honestly enjoy this wep even if the moveset may be glitched out but another wep with the godslayer moveset and a zwi poke soo good and this wep works soo well on faith str builds or pyros hell my wierd 25str 65 faith getting 1095 ar in base game and an ar 2190 in the dlc areas this is with fire buff 22:24 the wiggle dance with a co red amazing video chase and ty for streaming the dlc

Have you tried out the Lizard Greatsword yet? It's one of the new imp drops and it's the claymore moveset but the swings do strike damage and the R2 stabs fire out a projectile (which yes, can build status if the sword is attuned for it) it is *hilarious*, especially because the R2's can double-hit because of the projectile

Have you not tried Swift Slash yet? Backhand Blades are easily the most OP DLC weapon imo.
You can counter those with the poking shield, slap enchanted shield sorcery on it and you are golden.

Right now I don't know of a counter to Swift Slash spam. I'm not sure anyone does yet.
@@saintsword23 Its either blind spot or swift slash itself to counter itself at this point. Won a few matches agianst spammer using endure and banished knight gs so maybe thats something.
Hey Chase I've been invading with the Star-lined sword with the new spell Gravitational Missile, and they feel so right for each other, the sword applies a lot of pressure and the missile can either be shot straight forward for area denial or aimed at the ground or a wall for an immediate explosion! One of my favorite builds for invasions and I'd love to see what a PvP master would do with a similar build
From the crowd that is trying to avoid spoilers, I miss watching Chase videos. Just came across this weapon and, thankfully it's one of the ones I already found, and while I love its moveset, I'm just now learning how broken it can be. Strength/faith in general ate well this time!

TH-camrs should stop overrating this. It is not even close to being a meta set up, it Will just get nerfed at this point meanwhile real broken stuff won't be adressed (thrusting shields, backhand AoWs, status bolts on dlc crossbow, Those re the real broken stuff)
im happy because one of the things i wanted the most from the dlc was an ultra greatsword with the moveset of the godslayer greatsword.
Nice, this is the reason I hurried my str/faith char into the DLC. Will have to kill Rennala to be able to farm for it +yikes+ But totally worth it, it seems.
Always hoped for a nice slender (more realistic/aesthetic) colossal sword in ER, and as I heard about the faster godskin R1s and Zweihänder R2 pokes I knew - I WANT this !

Damn... I immediately upgraded this to +25 when I got it because it just looked so damn cool and fit perfectly into my STR/FTH build. Didn't know it was strong, I actually expected it to just be a Godslayer Greatsword with a better AoW. Now I feel like a dirtbag lol

I’m keen to see the Smithscript Backhand blades, I feel like their throwing heavy is actually useful, especially when cold infused.
Plus they look cool. Keen to see perfumes in action too. Storm stomp into charged R2 is pretty fun.

Hey, Chase, you should check the Sword of Night out. It has an uncharged weapon skill to uncharged r2 true combo (this also works with the charged skill.) The combo deals, like, 1500 damage with the stats I have at +9.
Chase, Chase, Chase, Chase. Hear me out. Smith script weapons. The axe can be thrown while jumping and moving. You can ran at an enemy throwing axes and jump away throwing axes. Its crazy, you can also put an ash of war on it.
Its part of my spartan build using the spear and the lion roar shield.
And perfumed Oil of Ranah, it comes out way faster than you think, has massive aoe hits hard and scales off Dex.
Yeah Flame Skewer always seemed better for PvP, as soon as I got Flame Spear I stuck with that for PvE. The fully charged hit just does so much damage there, but landing it vs actual humans seems basically impossible. Getting this in while it exists make sense, but hope to see more videos of new weapon types in the future! Frenzyflame Perfume when?
