Watch 'Industry 4.0: The Future of Manufacturing' here: • Industry 4.0: The Futu...
Industry 4.0 is already being implemented all over the world by integrated processes and production facilities. This series enters the massive halls of large-scale German industry, getting a first hand look behind the scenes at how it's all done. You can meet the latest technology of robots and machines as well as the people who make it all possible.
    00:00 Bosch
We visit the high-tech factory of Bosch, which produces highly sensitive sensors and microchips for the automotive industry and consumer electronics all over the world. The manufacturing process is extremely complex - including particle accelerators and autonomously acting robots.
    00:45:03 Ford
Once handpicked by Henry Ford, over 1,000 new cars are manufactured at Ford's Cologne Niehl plant. Unlike back then, today more than 1,200 industrial robots are in use.

In the year 2000- 2003, I did not get Silicon wafers in India. My guide at IIT Kanpur Procured Silicon wafers from Motorola company, USA . I used to cut these films in diamond cutters and then annealed in the heat treatment furnace. The furnace I set up in materials Engg department. Then I annealed in high temperature and characterized by different instruments.

I am highly skilled person to take responsibility to work in the clean room. I made a Clean lab at Hyderabad which is a Japanese company. The company is Aisin Cosmos R & D Co. Ltd. Apart from this I worked in the clean lab at Samtel Centre at IIT Kanpur, SSN Research centre at Chennai which is part of HCL Company. The way I manage the clean lab no body perhaps managed the clean lab.

Etching after photo lithography is essential where chemicals required. It's very crucial and important. Lots of precautions used to take care. Chemicals should not touch with the anode layers. Etching is as crucial as photo imprinting in lithography.

Reminds me of my brother telling a story how he ruined a million dollar prototype chip by accidentally reversing the polarity, oops! Sensitive silicon, making our phones process faster, so we could each have powerful tools in the palms of our hands. I'm fascinated by this video!

Ion implantation required high vaccum. Turbo molecular pump only provides high vaccum. Rotary and diffusion pumps can not supply high vaccum. The dry particles of air mixed with either Nitrogen gas or Argon inert gas.

Semiconductor materials processing by using CVD, MOCVD, PECVD, RF and DC Sputtering, Glove boxes, Cluster Tools for dopings and implantations are highly reliable and risk taking process. Most of the vaccum pumps as such Turbo, Rotary and Cryo genic vaccum pumps are essentials to create high vaccum. The 1000 particle clean Room, dress
, shoes, gloves are necessary to operate the vaccum instruments. The silicon thin films should be etched properly to deposit different layers to fabricate the device. Lithography and masking is also necessary. In addition to this all type of characterisations required to know the film thickness, morphology, interface, IV, CV, Efficiency, Crystallography, resistance etc. These instruments calibrations with sensors are highly sensitive tasks. I am one of the semiconductor specialist in this area.

Putting the painted Car Chassis & Bodies in a warehouse is a wrong approach . This is a " Waste " that should be
eliminated . Car Chassis & Bodies should be directed to the Assembly Lines directly , no "in between" inventory .

    • @silentepsilon888

every manufacturing process that uses multiple components must have buffer storage to compensate for production shortages on other components or else the entire line has to be stopped over one missing item. Also, often times production times for individual items differ and therefore nothing can be fed straight from the point of manufacturing straight into the assembly line. Furthermore products need to be quality tested which takes time and again requires a buffer in the event a part is faulty and needs to be removed from the process.

@@silentepsilon888 Study the Just-in -time concept , and hire a Kaizen expert for improvements. At least
50% of the warehouse space can be cut away to save inventory cost & excessive storage time .
All bulky parts should be made Just- in-time and not store inside a warehouse for more than 3-4 days .

@@chopinmack5418and if ALL steps have an absolute 100%, never down availability, you're right. But even in the just in time process, they will still have a container of parts in the warehouse to give time for one container to be removed and the next to be brought in, and god forbid there is a storm or flood or natural disaster anywhere between you and your supplier.
