For American trucks, Volvo, Mack & International are the only heavy truck manufacturers that use solid steel cabs. Volvo is the only truck manufacturer that offers a driver side airbag as standard equipment.
39:15 correction: Queensland is an Australian state, South Australia is a separate Australian state. Perhaps the narrator should have said “Queensland AND South Australia”. Also, at 39:17 that’s a Victorian (yet another Australian state) plate on the trailer! I’m feeling left out living in New South Wales… but loving this documentary.
not to sure about the new volvos but if theyre anything like the new macks that have water cooled starter motors so after driving for 3-4 hours your waiting a while till the starter has cooled down if you have shut the engine off
Once the dynamic steering system has issues, such as the wrong camber angle, the steering becomes wobbly, it pulls trucks left or right randomly by itself.
Volvo and others have to develop electric drive trucks with regenerative braking. Yet a small battery and a diesel generator that fires up when battery power is below 20% or at highway speeds. This will give the best of both worlds, until newer battery technology has been developed. This will allow them to compete with Tesla. And provide long distance trucking with electric advantages today.
Limited detail??? Sorry it offended your highfaluting values to distinguish between a documentary and information about progress that is being made for safer vehicles on the road.

Is Volvo going to Electric / Battery trucks Or Hydrogen Fuel Cell Or Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines ? In Arizona South East of Phoenix Arizona For the last few months , Nikola Trucks has been building and delivering , Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered Class 8 Heavy Duty Trucks ( the truck that pulls Trailers in Semis , 18 wheelers ) and Cummins Diesel , has Built a Hydrogen powered version of what was Used to be their Diesel Engine , in 2017 The American EPA will crack down on Pollution standards for Diesel Trucks, and make it hard to Build a Diesel engine that will comply with those Regulations
All European truck manufactuters are going electric and some also offer hydrogen. Nikola is a rebadged Iveco truck although Iveco and Nikola parted ways a few months ago.
The problem with all this technology is the truckers are being harassed by safety departments and by personnel who knows nothing of driving a truck. The are taught front from CONTROLED information. Not REAL life situations. And the biggest hazard for trucks is 2 part. 1 , cars !! They don't follow the rules and do not pay attention and cut trucks off constantly and cause problems constantly. 2 , the lack of actual schooling. 4 weeks and they are a professional?? No way. They drive a truck like their personal vehicles, they have no idea of control . They can't back up in spots . The schooling needs to be increased to at least 9 months. In all 4 seasons in all weather. Yes technology is a good assistant but it CAN NOT FIGURE OUT REAL LIFE CONDITIONS OR ADAPT TO THEM. I have 25 years behind the wheel and I can perform better without the Truck taking control. That is a safety issue. Especially when in a corners when it throws the brakes on and will cause a roll over . The same when roads are wet or winter roads. It can NOT know what is really happening. And we are consistently criticized for our driving by safety for what the truck does. Not at all right. You need to seriously work with seasoned drivers NOT JUST ENGINEER'S. the do not have all the information.
some math does not add up...not trying to be a smart hat , but idk if you mistyped something but its 99.9999% impossible to be able to run 900,000 KM (=562,500 miles). like i said I'd like to think its some mistyped .
@@jkoonce4244 I drove Team, 10 hours on and 10 hours one, pretty much non stop from CA to NY, 72-73 hours, drop a Trailer, pick up and Trailer and head back to CA. That would make it around 345-350K a year.
This guy he’s not got a clue about driving trucks most of the time it’s down to the car drivers cos they think that they can under cut us or try and jump in front of us and they don’t understand that trucks can’t stop as fast as cars can this guy needs to drive a truck for a week and see how bad it is
Why people have to suffer the consequences. Companies need to stop killing people and start building its own roads. It’s murder. 80,000 commercial vehicle vs a 4,000 vehicle 😅😢

End of Day its the DRIVER who matters
He should be Attentive and Responsive
"Noise can make people sick" 41:41
I wish I could convince my neighbors of this.
😂😂😂
If you think you have "seen it all" watch this one! Besides very interesting content, here is a really nicely made documentary! A pleasure to watch!

I like how that one crash test into the wall the truck had its windscreen wipers going
Queensland & South Australia are two completely different states within Australia.
I HOPE THE HAMSTER GOT TO EAT THE CARROT!!
Paid by the hour makes me relax!
That hamster was hungry. Feed him that damn carrot!! 🤣 Impressive technology overall!
Wonder how these trucks would do on roads from Worlds Deadliest Roads?

A great Volvo commercial presentation, but fascinating anyway.
This is just like the way all the new Trucks are becoming, I'm a truck driver
Thank you very much for your video
Volvo infomercial. Most of this tech has been available across most European truck manufacturers for years.
good video love the stunt performed by jean claude van damme with volvo trucks on volvo trucks youtube channel.
The trucks were driving in reverse, how do you know if it was not filmed in reverse?😮
Once the dynamic steering system has issues, such as the wrong camber angle, the steering becomes wobbly, it pulls trucks left or right randomly by itself.
Volvooooooo 🎉❤❤❤❤
Im rootin for Volvo
Am fascinated about this.
Volvo paid bro some big money😂😂
Does the driver come in hi-tech like the truck too
Using a Weight Sensor to Show how light steering is ❌
.
.
Using a Hamster to do that ✅
somehow I doubt any truck drivers were involved in this truck.
Will dispatchers be trained in remote repair, or lack thereof? 😮

Does the dammy have to be that of a "black"??
I'm writing a song, "69 buzzers, 1 ramp to go!"
Guy sounds exactly like ruud gullit 30.00
Safty system best in world only on volvo trucks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
27:48 looks like they brought in a Finnish guy to talk about drifting.
what about jack knifing.
Volvo always good for safety 👏
the driver will come to rely on that system to much.
These are more advertorial like Benz and Volvo etc
Truck drivers are the cause of most accidents ? Are you kidding me the statistics say just the opposite especially here in the USA
Because nobody can drive in the usa .in Europe they can so most accidents are caused by truck drivers ..
A few years ago when I heard Volvo has sold some parts of Volvo to Chinese, I felt bad about this company!
You shouldn't. It saved the car company. On the other hand, Saab was sold to the Americans and it died.
Limited detail, this is more an Volvo advertorial than a documentary 👎
You obviously do not drive trucks!!!😂

As a volvo owner i support this. Lol.
They're undeniably the best for sure
When you think about safety Volvo is the first to come to the mind....
Why can't all the Volvo's have auto parking..it would've saved the new deivers like me a lot of time 🙏
If you need it to do it for you , your not a real driver. You need more schooling.

I'm not sure about all Volvo trucks going electric. But I do know there is one in multiple sizes. There may be more though

Hitech trucks with super high-tech price
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Please keep in mind that in the United States of America we don't use Metric temperature , please give us a conversion from Celsius to Farenheight
Get with the times you colony
Well, it seems to be the Americans' own shame, the vast majority of countries in the world use the metric system.
can't even spell Fahrenheit correctly, LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Come on man it’s 2023 go online jeez
somehow all trafic accident caused by un-attentive human driver and somehow these advanced tech can replace those drivers
