I had a lot of issues using the 9th gen cap. Throttle relearn code and no response from gas pedal. All was solved with j37 cap. Also used the 9th gen motor. So 9th gen motor, with j37 cap. If anyone having issues try that and see if it helps. Thaks for the video helped a lot!
So why would I have to swap out the motor from my stock one to the zdx tb again I missed the point? I understand the zdx has 9 amps and the stock one has 5 amps but what are the issues?
bro, do not swap the black cover. I did it and I got idle issues that were not resolved even using hondata. Only change the internal motor of K20 and use J37 black cover
My car kept idle surging, after fbo and even a dyno tune. I tried every fix and nothing worked but I can confirm this actually worked. USE THE J37 CAP everyone!!!!!
Now you've got me wanting to open up new throttle body 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. Would it work with the 8th gen throttle body cuz I'm not sure if the 8th and 9th gen have similar throttle body. Now you got me super curious🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for the info now I have home work. I'm interested in what the tuner has to say . Stay safe brother ✌✌
This is not an issue for 8th Gens. The 8th Gen has a separate controller for the TB. It can handle the 9amps or so. The tune tho, I’m not sure if you need to edit.
So i did this modification and now i been having the p2101 code throttle actuator system malfunction and p1683 map sensor reading higher than expected. I switched it twice with the same year tsx and still the same thing happens.
Hey just did the rbc swap with grams throttle body and got a code saying “Throttle valve default Position spring Performance problem” p1683. Wondering if this is the cause
Definitely looking forward to more info on this. Will this fix issues with hunting idle? Seen a lot of posts online of ppl trying to fix that when going to the j37.
I don't have the idle hunt issue either, I never did. I would try it, as it's really an easy thing to do. You can also edit the tune, but be sure to run it by your tuner, if you don't feel comfortable.
Super helpful

Thanks so much for confirming this, I tried every fix and no solution. But this worked, thank you!!!!
Hell ya buddy! I've been looking forward to this. You da real MVP!
HAHA thanks Matt!
Absolute fking LEGEND for sharing this information.
Looking forward to this modification, appreciate the info
They actually make an adapter kit for the 37 to the 24.

Most people that do this are seeing drivability issues. Because the ECU only has 5amps to move a motor that require 9amps. Makes sense?
@@reesescars6871 ok yeah makes sense
hello, very good information, I have a k-tuned throttle body, that modification can be done.
Excuse me, bro! I can do the calibration of the throttle body J37, with a K tuner v2

I’ve heard this from some people. I had no issues.

So i have an 8th gen with the zdx TB, my idle jumps up and down only if i drive the car cold, once it warms up it stops
Would this mod work?

@@reesescars6871 thanks for clearing that up brother. Appreciate your knowledge.
@@juniord1309 Thanks HAMIGO!
My tuner made me swap out my motor from my stock z3 throttle body to my j37.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery? I get a code sometimes if I disconnect the throttle harness while the battery is plugged in.
@@reesescars6871 ohh dang that's a good one. Yah i disconnected it while the battery was connected. I'll try that. Thank you bro 🤙🏾
I disconnected the battery and still doing it. Do u have to do throttle body re learn?

Ever fix it?
NICE JOB BRO . UK
Is this the rdx, ilx? You mentioned both. Also which year?
This one was the 2014 RDX.

*You Think I should do this for my K20z3 ? Heard it takes up a lot of Amps*
You don’t need to do this on the 8th Gen civic
@@reesescars6871 *Yeah I Thought So Guess Mine Is Just A Tuning Issue I Need To Take Care Of Thanks*
Hi buddy, i just installed the j37 on my 9th gen and my iddle is terrible..its going up and down..should i do that mod?
Its not surging...its going from 0.9k rpm to 2k rpm continuisly like up and down
what did you do to fix it
@@eddyjr0767just buy a foxwell scanner and do a tps relearn. You don't need to do the stuff he's doing.
they are saving 9% if coming from a zdx to theirs
My car keeps idling up and down after installing my zdx do you think swapping the motors out will help with that?
Update: it fixed my issue. I swapped the motors out and my car doesn’t idle weird anymore
@@jesuscontreras2499 I've been interested in doing the ZDX swap. How has your car been holding up as of lately?
ZDX is 70 mm not 80
80mm inlet and outlet is 70mm
Just do a relearn ezier
