This next to the Timmy, Blue Ecstasy, my favourite od pedal. It really makes your amp sound like it's saturated with bell like tones. A bit like when John Mayer gives a great blues solo on the neck pick-up. So clean, smooth and open.
first one secondhand, just arriving brannew second one!! acts as: clean boost/eq/od/dist/treble boost! all in all one heck of a tone king! ( sorry Analogman...) after my Mad Prof Simble brings note definition and that SUMTHIN you didnt know was missin!! if you haven the Simble or Twimble get one! highly recommended!!! Hejsan, K😎
I love how you take Beatles-songs and play them like you do with overdrive pedals without killing the mood in them! My favorite demo by you is probably the one with JHS MorningGlory were you player Yesterday :D
Great demo Mike. Your playing is fantastic as always. I do prefer the straight on camera compared to the angled view from the head stock. Half the fun is watching your fingers glide over the fretboard.
this is soo cool a pedal! froma basic king of tone/klon....with bass n treb tube screamerish......., I thought it was too bright: not, some one said it s too bassy:not.............my first one is secondhand, just today got a brannew one................ I use it after my Simble, but about the brightness: I have the ( 2) DoD/shoe Looking Glass for like strat brightness after the Simble, but the Royal Blue isn t too bright at all!! plus I really havent ventured the realm of the Looking Glass yet!! these are complex pedals but with patience I dare say they almost can be set for the madding crowd..., there is one( ha ha) simple fet pedal that Im going to keep, and that is the mighty BOSS OD-3! and a Nobels ODR-1( for Jazz), anywroad, ABBAY road, get Mad Professored by: Simble/Twimble/Royal Blue, and Ill be seeein ya! jaaaazzzzyyyyy, K😎
This one is really cool, sounds like it could stack nicely with a boost too perhaps? Was hopping you would do a review since the first couple of vids popped up on a few months ago, thanks and rock on :)
You guys just make the best demos, period. Say, what kind of amp/mic/recording setup do you run everything through? It might be kind of cool to do a "behind the scenes" episode. Anyways, you are amazing!
just finefinetuned one of my strats: with MAD PROF Simble: great. then into Royal Blue: more note def and stuff....!!! all controls have meaning! a very very finely made pedal , I think different finnish designers: Simble and Royal, but togehter its a match made in heaven!! owning 4 Simbles( discontinued) and 2 Royal Blues I wont let go of them, they are my base camp!!!!
Is this a timmy type pedal? I actually have one, and I love how quick the attack is, and how well it stacks with a dist pedal. So I want another one, only prob is I have no space, so I'm thinking the mxr timmy might do the job.
We met tacoma guitar trade show couple years ago i like your vedros please let me know if you come across little green wonder hand wired complete i would be interested Jscott
great gear, superb playing...still I can hardly hear the difference between all those drives. I guess it is still the Hands... I guess I also Sound with evry amp and pedal the same- ready to swap all my gear for your skills .... chapeau
Is this pedal similar in tone to a Klon pedal (or the Red Snapper, or Soul Food pedals)? Each of those pedals really sound great to my ears when using the neck pickup of a strat. Curious if you’d think it’s in the same pedal “family” as those tone wise.
I know you said it's not like the Timmy, but how would you describe the Bass and Treble function? Is it setup like the Timmy where noon is neutral Clockwise adds and Counter-Clockwise cuts? Or is it only a cut knob? Or only a boost? This thing sounds fantastic!
Timmy is 199. I am not positive this is a timmy ripoff but it certainly sounds like one. The lovepedal amp 11 is a timmy ripoff. It is a real shame because Paul is such a nice guy and innovative. These people keep stealing designs and these folks will stop innovating.
This is not a Timmy copy, but our own design.
after 5 years is still my n.1 pedal. Very dynamic and it can do everything from low gain boost till mid gain bluesy tone, the eq is so powerful!
Wow, seems like every pedal from MP is incredible. Fantastic tone. Great playing brotha, thanks for the fantastic demos.
Best demos on the web! Such interesting music!!
Have one since a couple of years. Love it! Best overdrive I've ever had.
Absolutely fantastic demo and tunes!
Mike H, youre such an inspirational guitarist, thank you for it!😎

Man.. Love at first sight. Had to order asap. And beautifully played.

The light overdrive setting at around 11:50 is great! Just what I'm looking for.
I love how you take Beatles-songs and play them like you do with overdrive pedals without killing the mood in them! My favorite demo by you is probably the one with JHS MorningGlory were you player Yesterday :D
I love that guitar! That has a Lollar mini hum in the bridge and a Lollar Firebird in the neck
Great sound and even greater playing!
Thanks for the kind words! Dr. Z or Swart amp > Shure Sm57 > Apogee Duet > Reason
Cool. I've been going back to that angle. It's nice to switch it up
Great demo Mike. Your playing is fantastic as always. I do prefer the straight on camera compared to the angled view from the head stock. Half the fun is watching your fingers glide over the fretboard.
I cannot wait to see the gut shots/schematic to compare to the timmy. If it is not the timmy, or mod of one, then hats off, sounds great.
yeap, best demos ever... subscribed :D
Thanks a lot Austin! Much appreciated
Great demo, tasty licks!
You DO that! You wont be disappointed!
Especially with Rick Springfield's Sabbathesque riffing
I've got one with a compressor and the Fulltone OCD before it in the signal chain. Royal Blue is a bit choppier, very sensitve to dynamic playing.

I haven't heard that version, but I'll check it out

Stay tuned! Hopefully soon...

THanks so much!
Glad I got the wake-up call to get this before it too is discontinued like the mighty Simble, my main pedal!😎
just tried it, brings great finesse to the Simble: Mad Prof rules!😎
Dang, I just have to get another one..
also acts as a treble bleed! a vry valuable quality!!
just finefinetuned one of my strats: with MAD PROF Simble: great. then into Royal Blue: more note def and stuff....!!! all controls have meaning! a very very finely made pedal , I think different finnish designers: Simble and Royal, but togehter its a match made in heaven!! owning 4 Simbles( discontinued) and 2 Royal Blues I wont let go of them, they are my base camp!!!!

Big nuts, nasty sound :-)
Love it !

killer demo..
How is this guitarist called? He is awesome
Mike Hermans.
He sounds exactly the same in every single demo so no idea about how the pedal actually sounds always just sounds like a swart ast
Nice!

I love this crunchy high treble distortion tone, but this pedal is kinda expensive for me. Do yo guys know any cheaper alternative? Thx.
Is there a good red blue clone out there?
What amp is used in the video?
What amp are you using?
How would you compare it to the Mojohand fx DMBL?
kinda more complex tone, more verstility...I had the DMBL once, close what I was looking for, didnt know about the Royal then...🎶🎶
is this similar to wampler euhporia?
Similar? Maybe... I have both. Euphoria is great and has more variation in tones, but the Royal Blue has the better 'pure' tone.
maybe i found my overdrive :D
ok that's the one. very scofieldian.
Does it sound like bluesbreaker?
Has the curious effect of turning you into a Werewolf.🤔🤔🤔
Sounds like tweed 57 from wampler.
Beatles!!
That is a horribly written comment. Where is the punctuation? Looks like English is my second language!
Sounds like a timmy with the tone pot lugs reversed. So it sounds great but I would not want to support a ripoff...
It’s definitely not a Timmy. I have both.

This is definitely not a Timmy. I have both. Both are transparent though.
Thanks!
