@@SensationsRim hope so! I’ll definitely be ordering a couple of them to compare. Maybe the bearings will actually come in facing the correct way this time
It’s very close aestetically and it honestly bums me out, really wish they wouldn’t put the legit logos on there. They could make some good original knives if they didn’t just copy everything
Right?? They can still have their in-house, high end pieces, but to offer an actual production budget line of the Rosie would be a good idea. So many people want one. Reate or Kubey would be great options for that too. I smell what you’re steppin’ in 🫡
I’ve got a dlc compadre on the way cought one of the last ones they had for sell. I know only the newest Rosie’s have the contoured clips it’s pretty recent on them like a month maybe. Geez I can’t believe ur saying the fosie has a snappier detent that’s crazy. I assumed all the small details were done a lot better. Is the lock bar engagement the same on the fosie. I wonder if u put skiffs in it if it would make it any smoother on the fosie. Also I just sent out some clones to alchemy apex for him to do hrc test I sent an spk and if all goes well I’ll send the fosie in the next batch. could u feel the second detent on ur fosie or the real one like I showed in my video? Sry so long thx for any info.
Nice!! I’m stoked to see how you like the compadre! And the Rosie is just sooo smooth almost to a fault. I could feel the point where the second detent ball engages the tang but it was waaaay less obvious than on the Fosie. The fosie is clunky by comparison. Lockbar engagement was literally the same though! I suppose I could’ve deepened the detent holes on the real Rosie and bent the lock bar in to make the detent stronger, but I did not want to do that to such an expensive knife. Maybe in the future if I win another lotto 😂
@@FerretChlorideI hear u about not wanting to alter an $800 knife and I’d dare say for $800 u probably shouldn’t have to. It did look crazy smooth and I’m surprised at just how much thinner the blade stock is it was pretty noticeable. Did u see where he’s making a skeletonized fosie? Do u have the spk clone? I can’t remember if u told me or not. I’m thinking of acid stone washing my blade and scales on my fosie I got the acid and a rock tumbler to give it a try. I’m prob going to run a few test on some cheap fixed blades I picked up so I can try to dial it in. I’m excited about the compadre I always wanted a padre but kept putting it off then the compadre came out and I had already spent my knife funds for that month lol. Have u seen the new Kizer feweed that’s dropping on the 1st? I think it’s going to be a winner. S45 dlc and 80’s is one option but I honestly think I like the purple carbon and black stone washed the best there’s even one in zwear and jungle camo.
@@SteelAddicted that thing was STOOPID thin lmao. That’s the only way I could put it 🤣 a mega slicer for sure. I did order 2 spk clones actually from the most recent drop. I’m excited to get those in hand! You might have a hard time acid washing the titanium scales, let me know how well that goes for you, you may have to try “Blackening” them instead with a torch and oil. I tried to dip titanium scales once and it didn’t work at all. But if the steel blend is different then maybe? But let me know how that goes! I like the way you think dude 😆
@ yeah it’s dropping Jan 1st at 9pm eastern if ur looking to snag one I’m definitely considering it instead of the mini growler by divo as both r similar prices. I think the divo will be cheaper given u can use the wmk 10% discount code $162 s90v and contoured ti or camo carbon but there’s only a few of each camo carbons
@@jkstdstang it wins on a few things for sure. Just my opinion of course, coming from a pricing standpoint. The real thing didn’t have the kind of impact I thought it would. The hype for the Rosie definitely got me though.
@ the Rosie definitely has a lot of hype behind it. Ive wanted to try one for a while but on paper it doesn’t really fit my preferences being small with flat slab handles. Theres no hand work on the Rosie so its essentially a small batch production knife and that makes the Fosie easier to get so close in its replication being practically all CNC work. Then there is the price point of the Rosie vs what it offers. It is USA made which is important to me and i do own several other blades in that price range but they are all more complex. I suppose some of the Rosies appeal is its simplicity though, idk i haven’t handled one yet but despite all that id still like too. The plus side of the high price is the secondary market is inflated so it would be difficult to lose if it wasn’t for me and went to resell so in that sense it would be worth buying one, if you can win a lotto. So back to the Fosie maybe? Appreciate the comparison video!
I would say absolutely try to get your hands on the real thing through a lottery. If you can win, it really is a special experience and I don’t want to minimize that at all. Being able to buy one for $775 after shipping was a blessing. But I just wouldn’t spend more than that amount on this particular knife. I personally think when you compare it to other American made knives, it’s just not a lot of bang for buck in my opinion. I usually like weightier knives with slightly thicker blade stock I guess 😂 Spyderco still has my heart honestly. The Para 3 remains my most carried knife to date and idk what’ll ever replace that. But I appreciate the comments dude thank you!
its defiantly a great fake but I wouldn't be able to stomach supporting a company that is so obviously steeling from such a great American made company.
One more difference: The real Rosie weighs in at exactly 3 ounces. The fake weighs in at 3.2 ounces.
I wonder if any improvements have been made to the upcoming batch.

@FerretChloride hear me out, Oz just needs to go directly to Bestech/Maxace and get them to make a budget version for us poors 😅
