    Jeff cannot fathom that the biggest rival for him is not another man - but the advantages of living a life by herself. Men are usually too blind to see that there are women who like the convenience of not having to pander to a man's moods.

      There are a lot of men in the same situation. In fact, likely most men. you can only hear "oh, i don't know, what do you want" then have her pissed off because it wasn't what she wanted before you realize that being married can suck--a lot.

      @@nco_gets_ityes. I was in a similar situation. My ex( we dated for 7 years…. )
      I got texts from her at 2 am telling me she wants to break up. I had suspicions but decided to just go with my gut. We broke up. In 2015.
      I eventually found proof she cheated on me during those 7 years and got pregnant 3 times. She was going from here( Chicago) to the Philippines 6 months each year to see her brother and sister, parents and other relatives. Then return here to Chicago. I had no idea she went there to give birth.
      I my wife in 2018. Got married, 2019. Still together. My ex returned last year wanting to get back together. Why? Because the guy she cheated on me with, left her. She had no job, 3 kids to take care of, and hoped i would take her back so we can be a family. She even took me to court for child support. The look on her face when she saw I’m not the father in the court room, the evidence I had of her cheating, also text messages where she said she didn’t want sex with me before marriage.
      Her aunt and uncle who live here were very angry at her. The judge let them give my ex a well deserved talking to.
      She still contacts me for money.

      Guys like Jeff actually need their women more than the women need them. But they project that neediness onto the women. I broke up with a guy years ago who for a while kept trying to be my friend, but I wasn't having it. He left me alone after a week. Then about a year later, I was doing well and loving life. I wasn't dating anyone exclusively and ex came along and assumed that because I was single, I must want to be with him again. He kept insisting that I needed him (I didn't) and he was generous enough to put up with me and move in to my home with me.🙄

    Most guys don't just want to be single again randomly out of the blue, with no trigger. Hire a private investigator to see if he's been trying to hook up with other women. As for "pay me for emotional trauma and getting my stuff out of the condo," that's *extortion.* She has every right to have his things removed from HER residence now that they're divorced. Trying to extort money out of her before he'll remove them is just that. EXTORTION.

    • @AuntLoopy123
      @AuntLoopy123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep. As soon as he said that, I would have replied, "So, what you're saying to me is that I should just send every single thing you can claim as your own to your parents' house, all in one big move. Gotcha. You won't have ANY reason to be here. Oh, and I'll be calling the police to report your attempt at extortion. That actually IS a crime, you know. Although, since you only attempted it, and didn't actually succeed, you'll probably only get a slap on the wrist. Still, gotta establish that paper trail, for when this divorce goes to court. It speaks to your character, after all. Oh, and I will be suing YOU for emotional trauma, with the screenshots of our conversations as proof. Especially the part where you mocked me, when you planned to make me homeless, and how you laughed at the idea of me living on the streets, just because you didn't love me, anymore. And just days after saying you loved me, and how you depended on me for so much. Yeah, that's going to really work in court. Uh huh. You know, I wasn't actually planning on suing you for emotional damages. I was just going to walk away and have a clean break, but since you threatened me, I am taking the gloves off, now. See you in court."

    He was laughing and mocking her, at the idea of HER being homeless, but it never even occurred to him that, even if her father didn't own the condo, he would still owe her alimony.
    I feel really sorry for her. I mean, kudos for standing up for herself, getting the support she needed, and getting what was rightfully hers. But now, she's so completely turned off marriage, that she probably will never marry again. She has MASSIVE trust issues.
    So, she basically went from one extreme to the other, and that's really sad.
    I just hope that someday, she meets a man who values her for HER, and is willing to marry her as an EQUAL PARTNER, and not force her into being a dependent housewife, who is at her husband's mercy.
    Thank GOD they were both depending on her father for their home, right?
    And that guy. DUDE! Don't you even KNOW! Don't MESS with a rich man's daughter! She has CONNECTIONS and RESOURCES! I mean, it's one thing to say, "I'm sorry, but I've fallen out of love with you, and I think we should go our separate ways, so we can both find happiness again." That's respectful. You can even manage to eventually get past the hurt and be friends (it takes time, and a reason, such as co-parnenting, but it can be done). But to just say, "HAHAH! I want to see you HOMELESS, and I want to be FREEEE!" is NOT going to go over well. I don't blame her father for pulling out all the stops. As she said, "Nobody wants to work with a man who is so untrustworthy." Not to mention, CRUEL.
    He literally thought that, because she gave up her career for him, that he could make her homeless, and he LIKED the idea. And not because, "Oh, she was a rotten wife, and I want vengeance." Nope! He just got a kick out of seeing her suffer, simply because he is that self-centered and CRUEL.
    I'd bet good money that the "better than you in every way" girl would hove kicked him to the curb just for his cruelty, if she found out the way he treated his wife, even if she knew he was married, when she first dated him. Any woman with a brain would cut loose, seeing that, because "What's to keep him from treating ME the same way, in five or ten years?"

      'Pick a better partner.' Mmm. That can be very difficult given that men tell lies to get what they want. They will put on whatever face is required to secure the goal whatever that may be. How many news reports have been printed where statements like, 'he seemed like such a nice man.' ' I wouldn't have believed him capable of such a thing.' 'Their relationship seemed rock solid.' 'I didn't see it coming.' 'He/they seemed so happy.' have been the do infant theme? Its because they present one face inside the relationship and a different face to everyone else. It's why abused women are never believed, because 'he' seems so incapable of being abusive.
      'Pick better partners.' Pfft. SMH.

      Nope, if you're in an At Will Employment state, you can be fired for any reason. Of course, if you fire someone for any reason other than during the trial period or misconduct, you're on the hook for unemployment payments.

    • @nancyjay790
      @nancyjay790 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even here in the UK, which has a lot of laws to protect employees, many companies have a "trial period", where either side, employer or employee, can summarily say "done" and it's over. Once the trial period is over, companies have to have a particularly good reason, like breaking the law or damaging the company, to dismiss or fire an employee. Even if a company is going bankrupt and closing down, all employees are entitled to severance pay.

    Jeff was all smug & thought he could just kick his loving wife out of the condo onto the streets & live the high life with his secret girlfriend. Sadly for him he was to delusional & on his high horse to realize it's not working out for him cause he forgot his wife & her family is why he's where he was until the divorce. He was so pissed things weren't going his way & was hoping to find a way to make OP suffer/pay him to leave or something that he started projecting by accusing her of cheating on him. Cheer up Jeff you lost your wife(jfc that was sickeningly sweet at the start), lost your high paying job that had good hours, your condo & your girlfriend but at least you found a place to stay, a way to pay your ex off & a job even if it's terrible conditions.
    Feels a little weird that OP mentioned his girlfriend left him cause she found out he lost his job & shit then mentioned she was horrified or something to learn she was an affair partner. I mean yeah it's understandable cause she likely can't support her boyfriend & there's possible red flags if he got fired out of nowhere but these stories usually mention this specifically if the affair partner is using the guy or something but they made it sound like she's an innocent bystander that got dragged into this due to unknowingly dating a married man.

    Sounds like it's in the US. Here, we call it at-will employment. So, unless you're tenured or in a union, you can be fired any time for any reason. If you're in a union, you pay membership dues. The union should step up for you, though I've never heard of this. But, the employer will still go through the steps to get someone fired if they want to bad enough. It will just be slower with more paperwork.

    I don't get the part about how no divorce lawyer would represent him because he had an unwinnable case. How does a lawyer win a divorce? Their job is to negotiate on their client's behalf for the best settlement. It's not like they have to pay for damages out of their own pocket, and they still get paid regardless of the outcome.
