In Canada, where Alvvays originates from, when you scan a winning lottery ticket, the terminal plays a “Wahoo” sound effect which is seared into most Canadians’ brains.
Molly's voice is being used more instrumentally than ever on this album, and it's fantastic. She's always carried a serious melody and thrown in some memorable, hooky falsettos here and there, but the vocal synthesizing and layering effects on this album are a really big step up. Tons of left turns mid-song, and beautiful crescendos like the ending of this song. This album was a great listen, a real headphones type of album, and this song was a great (almost) closer.
Alvvays is just one of those bands that knows how to make real music and actually are talented that I actually see myself still listening to them another 10-30 years later for their music is timeless! 🎶😌🎧

This song is messing me up. The intro and first verse is so heartbreaking, yet the song becomes into this epic anthem at the second verse, while retaining its melancholic theme. It's killing me, but I can't stop listening to it. Whan an AMAZING band Alvvays has become, they went from great to superlative on this record.

This flipping ensemble. What a baaaand!! I mean there was Robert Johnson, there were the Beatles, and then there was Molly Rankin and Alvvays... in which everybody sings?! Everybody slaps? The bridge is the best part and I still wanna live that bridge. It felt like those true to life movies coming to a good conclusion - that type of vibe. God, I'll always love Alvvays
Alvvays es de mis bandas favoritas pero el álbum del mismo nombre y Antisocialites tienen algunas canciones que de plano no me gustan, como todo. Pero todo Blue Rev me fascina, no hay ni una sola canción con la que no haga click. Valió totalmente la espera, este récord viene del mismo cielo.
Por fin encuentro alguien que piensa lo mismo! Soy mega fan de Alvvays desde el primer disco, pero en los primeros había canciones que no eran tan buenas realmente. Incluso algunas llegué a quererlas de tanto escucharlas, aunque no me gustaban tanto. Pero lo de Blue Rev es increíble: no fallan un solo track. Ninguno. Es de locos. Clásico instantáneo, este álbum es un regalo de la vida.
