Only because of ur video I have fixed and repaired the coil wire. Now my fish tank heater is working. Thank you so much for sharing your video. And my husband said how can you do it. I just got a heater from Amazon. Mine is doing the same thing. Light comes on, but no heat. I'm returning it. Thanks for the video because I couldn't figure out why it appeared to be working because the light was on.
The cap should seal it however I don't advise opening and repairing a heater and re using it this was more of a could I find the problem and fix rather been able to re use it
My heater broke but upon inspection everything inside is not burnt up or broken? Light comes on but it doesn't heat. I must conclude that the thermistor or temperature sensor is the problem.

Is it ok to open your heater? How about the to put it them together, do you have a problem of leakage in the area where you remove the cap?

It should go on and off with a thermostat. It shouldn't always he on
