Great episode guys, love watching local trips and adventures around Perth, gives me fantastic ideas about what we can do on our own family/friends outings :)
That section of beach just north of Lancelin is bloody treacherous. Little do people know that in that area, which claims just about every 4x4, is the fact that there is an underground stream that runs along that area. Before the Army closed the tracks to North of this treacherous section, we used to go through the dunes and come out on the beach, then carry on until we reached Wedge. Its an iconic place and the State Govt should keep their noses out of the shacks, that have been there for several generations. Its a safe place for kids to play, and be courteous when driving through the area during school holidays. My son and I were on that beach heading back to Lancelin when his Patrol got stuck, managed to snatch him out and then we both got well and truly stuck. Fortunately one of the 4x4 companies had their vehicles with 35 or even 37 inch tyre`s. They winched me out and then got my son going. Bloody relief to get into town and top up our fuel tanks and grab a bite to eat at the bakery. One lesson I learned was to carry two 20 litre jerry cans if fuel. I refuse to pay the one and only servo the prices he is charging for petrol, diesel and LPG. Blatant rip off.
Easy way to break the tyre bead. Lay it down next to another vehicle and drive over the tyre without hitting the rim and it will pop straight off the rim.
How do I "Like" this more than once? LOL...... I suppose, just another comment will have to suffice LOL. Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland) Jan, 2021 "It's hotter than a Flat Screen at Cashie's" - Harry Fisher 2018..... hehe
Cheers Mike, glad you liked it! There was one new gopro on board I think but other than that I would say it's just a gradual increase of camera skill 🙂
I'm late to the conversation here but how did the Willys get right side drive? The Willys MB/Ford GPW was a standardized design and they built 'em with a left side steering wheel. Even the ones provided to the Allies (including Britain) were the same left handers...unless I am totally wrong (wouldn't be the first time). I've just never seen one before other than those older postal service jeep DJs.
I'm not too sure on that one myself! They must have converted a few of them to right hand drive for civilian use after the war I guess. The owner would know for sure, he knows every little uncanny detail about the things
anything less than 10 needs bead locks really,or turn vewy vewy swowly.plus, this is why i only fit 35" tires,.most retards buy a truck with a 4x4 badge, std tires, then die first time out.most 4x4rs are only 2wd,traction control can get you in more trouble, not worth it..locker in front,NOT ARB,& lsd,or same in rear, cant steer with lock rear.as good.
Great vid guys, so just asking... is it still possible are you are able to drive from Lanno to Cervantes along the beach? Without going into the defence force training area?
Thanks mate 🙂 yep still possible, but as it was in this video, the beach near lancelin is very soft. 12psi and decent experience in beach driving is advisable
Yeah as stated there, you don't have to be road registered but you need off road license plates. It's pretty much just to identify you and the machine you're riding and they're very cheap.
17,????,try 12 or 10,plus,turn off that traction control,if fitted,then rip it out & toss as far as you can in the surf.then,go buy some decent tires,say,??,35",bf googies,built for it.you really need 2 or 3 sets of tires,toyo.s for mud,bf.s for sand,conventionals for road.,then,,jack it 4" minimum,eh,?,whats that,??,you cant ??,why,??,its what.??.ifs,mmm,easy fix,..BURN IT...o.k.,why 35.s,well,your 29.s or 31.s when let down go to 27.s & 29.s,my 35.s go to 33",.WINNER.
Cool .. but instead of putting out one long episode a month, why not change your editing to a 10 min movie a week.. not everyone wants to watch 30 mins
I forgot about how bad that beach was at the start. You need to be like a midget at a urinal there- stay on your toes
Did you get the tyre deflator back? Haha

Easy way to break the tyre bead. Lay it down next to another vehicle and drive over the tyre without hitting the rim and it will pop straight off the rim.

Ever wonder why that gold patrol has that turbo whine? Not the flutter.
I have it too but haven’t inspected it haha
A parently,,IF,it howls under load,or up hill,theres a leak/crack, in a pipe somewhere.im fixing one now.damn annoying
Haha feeding old mate that slab of meat looks like the Sarlacc pit from star wars haha.
Video was legendary but put Harry in it.....becomes historically Epic
Good to see the trips starting your again.. Please keep them coming.. P.s. When are you getting a 4wd again Alex?
Toby Muirson Alex owns the gu patrol that had the maniqune head on it
Taylor Daw oh sweet, glad he got another patrol. 😊
17psi for the beach?
Are you mad?!?! 7psi for that kind of sand
Hugh Jazz I was running 8 which worked well
I tend to start on 18 and lower them from there. I've rolled too many beads in life 😂

Great episode, as usual! But damn, I always forget which truck is yours. The gold one, right?
Yeah it's the gold GU 🙂 its not particularly distinctive hey.

@@Alex.G yep all good mate well experienced and capable. Thanks for getting back to me!
Hey I'd love to know what those grills were that you fellas were using?
They are Cobb cookers mate. Pretty good little units! Powered by their own sort of charcoal briquettes
Do you guys have a map of the roads you took ??
The 48 would of pissed it in 2wd along there! 🤣
What's the name of the song that plays at 6:30?
haha Jadon. Classic
Does that 200 have an aftermarket exhaust?
Dan Mckinley yea mate pretty sure he has a full aftermarket system
Mabey put your foot on the clutch to put it in low 4x4
No sand flags?
I forget to strap it onto my roof about 50 percent of the time and don't realise until I reach for it ☹
What's with the dolls head on the Patrol?
Chris Behn we used it as a go pro mount
Where are the sand flags?
11:02
c'mon guys 5/8, that's old measurement......
I thought we had moved to the metric system????
Joe King I'm a similar age and I use both for peoples height
Doesn't make it right!!
If we continue to use mixed measurements we'll end up a mess like England is.
Joe King Australia is already a mess
where are the dunes? because I've been to Lancelin and I saw people without licensed vehicles have them taken away by the rangers
Vintagecat40 gaming .. they need off road licence plates ,its just a small fee
Yeah as stated there, you don't have to be road registered but you need off road license plates. It's pretty much just to identify you and the machine you're riding and they're very cheap.
Intents Offroad where do you buy them from?
how come u guyzs dont use sand flags please?
We plain and simple forget the things! Poor example I know...
Ya don't win friends with Salad.
It's pronounced why-lees

rleilander 10 minutes is for the old days when internet data was expensive, get with thd times man lol , i often watch 3 hour live feeds now
rleilander speak for yourself
I can certainly see your point of view. I started out doing these a bit shorter, but most people want to see longer ones
Intents Offroad yes longers ones for the win 🤙
