    I have been geeking out on astronomy since the mid-90s. I've always been particularly facinated by The Great Attractor. As expected, it is most likely to be due to something pretty mundane. Not a hypermassive black hole but simply a very large galactic supercluster or several large supercluster. A hypermassive black hole could never have enough mass to pull the lanakea supercluster towards it. I think our surrounding superclusters are also being dragged towards it but not sure at what point the Great Attracted ceases to influence the movement of superclusters.
    I just found your channel today. Watched the apocolypse one first. Hope you do some more astronomy/cosmology videos in the future. Difficult to find new channels due to the sheer number of AI generated science channels cluttering the algorithym

Imagine the size of the sun.. it converts 600,000,000 tons (1,200,000,000,000lbs) every single second into 595,000,000tons of helium with 5,000,000 tons being the light and various energy it emits into the solar system. EVERY SECOND! I thought that number was 6mil and had to check when you said 600mil (my apologies!) My mind was boggled at 6mil.. holy crap we really have a hard time grasping it's size. Add to that our sun is barely average.. meaning half the stars in the sky are bigger

      It’s even funnier when they agree that other planets are round “because we’ve been able to observe them”. That alone should show that earth being round is the logical conclusion. Why would only earth be flat? (Not to mention that there is at least one well known experiment made by flat earthers that was meant to prove its flat but did the exact opposite. And they still refuse to accept it.)

    Concerning the Oort Cloud: why isn’t it visible? Shouldn’t the asteroids reflect the suns light? And if light can’t reach them or whatever, why does the suns gravity still hold them in orbit at that massive distance? I’m just curious

    • @connors-curiosities
      @connors-curiosities  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a super cool topic! The stuff in the oort cloud is so sparse and tiny that it doesn't reflect enough of the sun's light back to us. It ALSO is overpowered by the light from OTHER stars from outer space, like trying to watch tv with sun coming in from the window. The light blinds you so you can't see the TV. Hopefully that makes sense ^^

    TH-cam physicist here.. could dark matter and energy be what happened to all the matter & antimatter that encountered one another at the time of and after the big bang? Or is it what the big bang exploded in to.. like stirring cream into coffee. Where st the instant it gets dropped into the mug starts swirling around into fully mixed. Ok, I'm probably way off.. but that's what you get from only learning from others videos. Love yours, by the way. Not a simple explanation nor too highly scientific where only physicists would understand. Thanks!

    • @connors-curiosities
      @connors-curiosities  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as you condense it down! Jupiter has more than twice the mass of every other planet combined, due to its more dense core. That's why Saturn is only slightly smaller BUT has roughly 1/3 the mass of Jupiter ^^
