The tapdancing scene still leaves me utterly aghast. I love the way that she still keeps on doggedly trying to tapdance despite being wracked with jolts of psychic agony.
Yeah , Linda Blair really brought it despite the story being all over the place. Loved her in the 3rd act
I love the Exorcist II The Heretic it has a special place in my heart. Yeah it's stupid but its very entertaining. The Exorcist part one is my fave movie of all time and it has influenced me as an artist.
You're the first reaction channel ive seen that didn't let all the negativity towards this film sway your viewing experience. I saw this movie on TV when I was 7 and loved it. With the 3rd film, the three are a good trilogy, together. Originally, when sequels appeared, critics panned them all.... PSYCHO 2, ROCKY 2, JAWS 2. So, from the beginning, Ex2 never had a chance. Other reaction channels heard this film was bad and funny, so they were laughing from the start. It's not a perfect film, but it's more enjoyable than the darkness of the first, for me. The locusts are a Biblical plague, so they incorporated that into the movie. To answer a few questions... After they use the synchronizer, they both keep traveling between the spirit world and the real world. That's why the priest met Kukumo in the spirit world, failed, then was thrust back into reality. Some things take a few viewings to "get".
All I can say about this entry is that it had potential but veered off into silliness territory due to the studio (Warner Bros) heavy involvement & micromanaging and that none of the original creators had much to do with that sequel....at least the film did pave the way for the great Exorcist III (directed by the original Exorcist book & screenplay author William Peter Blatty).
It's certainly high on the list of awful sequels!
If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend 1990s "RePossessed" It is a spoof of The Exorcist that stars Leslie Nielsen and Linda Blair as well. A good movie to just shut off your brain and enjoy.
A huge...huge missed opportunity. To this day, one of the biggest letdowns in movie history.
Truly...the only thing that was strong enough to possess Richard Burton was booze and Elizabeth Taylor.
Thank you very much for reacting to it and trying to analyze it with an open mind. I dont care what anyone says but I love this movie. I love the cinematography, the soundtrack, the set design, the actors, the special effects (which were nominated for a saturn award) and the atmosphere throughout the whole movie. Its a completely different tone than the first one, its even a completely different genre, its more science-fiction/fantasy. I get that so many people dont like it because its not what they want from an Exorcist movie. But the amount of sheer hate it receives from some people is hyperbole in my opinion. If this would be an italian movie from the same time and stand-alone, it would be received much better. I also like that it explains why Regan was possessed in the first movie and I like the prequel part with Father Merrin and Kokumo in africa, its well done and very accurate with the rock church and the chants. Also the mud city of Jepti is very accurate and well done, just google "Mopti" and "Djenne" in Mali and you will understand what I mean. Many say that this was a flop but from an financial point of view its not true. It made a decent profit at the box office. Believe it or not but this movie has its fans, Im part of some fangroups online (Facebook etc) and we all are so glad that this movie received special edtion treatment on blu-ray from Scream Factory and Arrow Video just recently (already sold out).So now you can all hate on me but this is my personal opinion.
You are definitely the first reactor I know of that has reacted to this movie. Even Jen who reacts to bad movies and Nicolas Cage movies hasn't yet. She's on her horror TV shows and Buffy. That's reel reviews with jen from Canada.
Wait till you watch part 3. You'll question your own existence. LOL
Seriously no memory of Sharon, Chris's secretary in the original film?
P.S. Hope you check out #3 soon, I think you'll like it way more than this one. Don't bother with the "Legion" cut, it doesnt add much to the story, IMO, stick to the theatrical cut. Cheers for this reaction. 👍🏼
Unlike the self-diagnosed online crowd autism is actually on a spectrum. There are high functioning people like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory and then there are people who do not seem to be aware of their surroundings.
You've laid out a task to watch all these movies. Past the third you have two wildly different versions of the fourth film and then the recent one. Unlike a lot of franchises that have bad but fun sequels these are just a slog.
A "better" mind over body film to watch would be "Altered States".
You didn't "get it" because it's incoherent. Very happy to hear you're watching III. A much more satisfying movie. PLEASE watch the theatrical cut. The director's cut is a mess, on many levels. We'll be here for your reaction!
When I first saw this as a kid I hated it like most people do, but over the years it has really grown on me. If you go into it expecting a proper sequel of course you’ll hate it. Call it a failure if you must but I feel there are too many intriguing elements in this film to just write it off as a bad film. Personally I think it’s a much more interesting and entertaining film than Exorcist III. I realize I’m in the minority there, but that’s okay.
Linda Blair's not in Exorcist 3 (1990) and makes a brief appearance in The Exorcist Believer (2023).
OK…”Exorcist 3: Legion” is the only legitimate sequel; it was written and directed by William Peter Blatty (RIP), the author of “The Exorcist” and “Legion” novels. However, only watch the Theatrical Cut, not the Director’s Cut, which is an incomplete film.
John Boorman directed this movie. More movies from him were Zardoz. See Sean Connery in a wedding dress and....
Also, Deliverence and my favorite Excalibur. His take on the King Arthur and Merlin legends.
I'm not one who hated this movie. I liked it the first time but hearing this was English extended version, I don't just like it, I loved it!! Go watch Sean Connery in John Boorman's Zardoz (1974). Another totally BONKERS movie!!!
Thanks again for reacting to this movie my friend! I don't regret giving this movie to you! I still loved your reaction! Don't worry! I also plan to give you Exorcist III and Repossessed! 😁
Want to comment before watching your reaction. This is the greatest Non-Italian horror film ever made. Those familiar with that genre, should find my remark comforting. If you are a fan of this movie. I am a fan. In particular, I love John Boorman and his films. Excalibur and Hope and Glory are his best.
Now, I will be the first to admit, there are problems with Exorcist II. The biggest of these problems, studio interference. Same thing happened to Alien 3. The screenplay that was initially green lit for Exorcist II never made it to the screen. The studio was changing the screenplay, as they were filming, from day to day. Of special note, Boorman has problems with his dialogue scenes. Excalibur has similar issues. Louise Fletcher sounds like she's running out of oxygen, trying to get her scenes right.
Many have argued, why Locust's? Friedkin was the one who introduced Pazuzu as a bug winged demon. Remember the statue Father Merrin faces off in Iraq. As this scene fades, the sound of flying insects are mixed in with the sound of jet engines as we fly form Iraq to Georgetown. On The Wings Of A Demon. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.
There are many complaints that can be lobbed at Exorcist II. Showing a teen girl tap dancing to Lullaby Of Broadway, in a braless tee-shirt should not have been filmed. Regardless, this is a gorgeously mounted production. Filmed in studio. The scenes of the cliff and mud cities are incredible, as are the tribesmen fending off the swarm of locusts. The film borders on science fiction with its visuals and ideas. Perhaps that is the films biggest of faults. There are lofty ideas floating around this story. Too bad the screenplay was altered while they were filming.
Even the actors who were in the movie hated it.
Every time I watch this movie, I see something new or different. It's really not that bad, but fans were expecting more pea soup and head-spinning and they didn't get that this time.
Seen once, I think, not memorable. Watching for your laughs & possible disappointment/confusion. LOL
Hey, go for it. Some bad movies I liked. This was one of them as well as Battlefield: Earth with John Travolta and Forrest Whitaker and I'm probably the only one that loved M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening with Mark Wallenberg.
I use to have a best friend I watched it with - it was so bad that we enjoyed it. I've seen in 20 times and can't really tell you what it's about.
The only good thing about it is Ennio Morricone's Score. The Chanting is impressive. But i've seen worse
Yoko Ono was worse lol
That's for sure, because the singers involved here know what they are doing
Linda Blair Is A Beautiful Woman!!!❤❤
Love Her Movies Too!😊
I've heard how bad this is but haven't seen it!
Don't, it's terrible!
Neither have I. I've seen the original and The Exorcist III, but skipped this one based on reviews.

Just can't watch this reaction. This movie is awful but don't let it stop you from watching The Exorcist 3. The theatrical version is better than the directors cut. Looking forward to watching the reaction.
watch "One Dark Night" from 1983. Its okay
No need for a question mark. "Worst sequel of all time" is a factual statement, not a question. This movie is an absolute piece of shit. Sad.
Dear Jaws 2, Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and any other horror sequels I talked ish about...I'm so, SO sorry
I don't know who told you to watch this, but they don't like you very much. This movie was horrendous. I mean, come on now, grasshoppers, locust, give me a break. It was horrible, even the mother, Chris Macneil character. She didn't want to be in it. It was horrible and it was Linda Blair's downfall. I don't even have the energy to watch you. Watch itPoor thing, I'll pray for you, though
This is the worst sequel and the worst 3rd part of a franchise goes to Halloween 3 😁 slightly worse than alien 3. How you been. I hope you're not working as much as me. I'm so behind on my reactions but they pay me big🤑and i want my electric skateboard 🛹 im off Halloween week what you are missing from this movie is a whole different movie called Brainstorm. I can't give you any spoilers in case you haven't seen it yet. Its. Not that scary more suspense but some1 dies👈😏a must see slightly less scary than altered states.
