Hello, I am a 66 year old fellow from Canada with no interest in cosplay. I stumbled across one of your videos and after only a moment I was hooked. You, and your husband and dogs, are some of the most entertaining lot I have ever encountered. I have been binge watching your channel for hours. Your enthusiasm for your art is obvious and you are a real joy to watch. Cheers from the left edge of Canada.
The dogs' look at the end: "She's FINALLY gone off the edge..now where's our food, hooman?" 😂 I see your New Year resolution was to be more subtle in advertising your books..😉
I was having a pretty good day already, and then I get this awesome KamuiCosplay tutorial??? Life doesn't get much better than this! Absolutely gorgeous build. I think this might be my favorite so far
this looks amazing! although please be careful using the vaping device as a smoke machine ;-; they overheat really quickly especially when activated for such long periods at a time and not fully ventilated!! :(
I really love the final outcome. Your videos really help me to produce ideas about how to make cosplay versions of weapons and armors which appearance looks very hard to copy irl.
Actually a flail is a weapon that has a spiked head suspended from a long chain. Check out what the Witchking uses in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King film. But truly amazing work regardless!
my assumption is that they couldn't use plasti-dip to prime this one because they had translucent LED foam. plasti-dip would defeat the purpose of it being translucent so they used flexbond to help the LEDs stay visible after the paint job
>see new kamui video >get super hyped and inspired to work on my own cosplay >realize i'm poor, have no materials, tools, or skills or time to do this >depression >new kamui video comes out >repeat
You don't have to lose heart, Svetlana started with a tiny living space, not much money, no skills and cheap materials. Little steps can build up to something greater than the sum of its parts. Regarding time, even ten minutes of crafting a day, or a few times a week, adds up over time and gives you a finished project to be proud of. I'm slowly working my way through my first cosplay. It's taking me months and I'm making very slow progress but I don't want to give up, I'm just doing it for me. I hope this doesn't come across as me chastising you, I can't know your situation exactly, I just felt from what you've written that I have perhaps been in a similar boat at times and slowly realised that we can all be our own greatest obstacles in exploring the things we want to do. Either way, I hope that you have a good day and eventually do get to enjoy expressing your creativity in this awesome medium!
Very nicely said! Cosplay is not a matter of money. No creative hobby is. You can always find something affordable to start with and work your way up from there. I don‘t know your situation of course but it gets better. Don‘t give up. ❤️
Hi Svetlana ! Thanks so much for sharing your tips in such amazing videos. Everytime, you're so enthusiastic that it looks so easy and fun to make cosplay. :D I like to play World of Warcraft too, and I am a huge fan of Blackrock Foundry (WoD). So I would dream to craft Black Hand's weapon with light and smoke such like this. *O* Best,
Your videos are a MASSIVE inspiration!! And - not for Cosplay, but for Halloween decorations!!! Amazing ideas, materials, designs, creativity - THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!!!!! Surprisingly few people use foam and foam clay in the world of Halloween decor, but I think you could create the most stunning, movie-set quality stuff (think Gargoyles with light and smoke, Gothic doorways with skulls, lights, etc - and a million other wonderful things!). Halloween is getting bigger in some parts of Europe, and hey - costumes & Halloween are best pals :-) Remember Halloween is not just "American commercial nonsense" - the roots of Halloween are in Samhain, which was the festval of dead for ancient European Celtic people. And for example in Finland we have "Kekri" - similar day of the dead in October, with costumers and fires to drive away bad evil spirits...So lets make Halloween into "Euroween" and OWN IT. :-) Bless!!!
Omg this is so awesome! I probably watched it like 10 times! I know you usually do armor w/ foam instead of just costumes so I was wondering if you could maybe make an armor set from Breath of the Wild.
I know Svetlana don't really cosplay anime characters but I wish you guys could make Raphtalia cosplay from The Rising of the Shield Hero With her armor and sword It'd be so helpful :')
Yowjo Normally the costume she makes takes up to like 6 to 14 weeks and you are I don’t know if your making as complex ones she does but I don’t know so just to say
Hi, I just found this channel a few days ago and I love it. I really want to get into cosplay, is it involves two of my favorite things: making props and acting the part of a character, but I have no idea where to start, or what to do. My big question is, is there like an unspoken rule about who you can and can not cosplay as at a con? Like, obviously you wouldn't cosplay a Harry Potter character at the Star Wars Celebration, but what about a normal convention? Do you only cosplay characters that you know that the creators have a thing (I can't think of what it's called, sorry) there, or can you do absolutely anyone? Like, for example, would it be acceptable/reasonable to cosplay, say, a Lord of the Rings character if LOTR/Amazon isn't holding an event thing there? Or are cons more like a Show-Off-Your-Work kind of thing, in which case my entire question rant above is invalid? There's a character that I'd really like to cosplay eventually, but he's an obscure character from an obscure book in a once-very-popular series. TL,DR: Are you supposed to play a character that their creator is presenting at the con, or are cons Show-Off-Your-Work kind of events (with the obvious exception of series/genre-specific cons)?
Most cons are totally open and you can cosplay whatever and whoever you want as long as the costume is not blatantly offensive. So don’t worry, just pick your favorite character and have fun! ❤️
Dear Svetlana and Benny. I am a huge fan of your work and it is ALWAYS AWSOME!!! Congratualtions :-)) I wonder, what "black costume" is hanging at the door, seen in this video at 5:38. I checked roughly all your videos, but I couldn't find it... If you could give me a hint, I would eppreciate it! Keep doing your great work and say hi to your cute Corgies :-)))
Oh my god, it looks gorgeous! Great job ❤ I just bought EVA foam for the first time, and I can't wait to start playing with it! You have been a huge inspiration to me when it comes to cosplaying, and I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done. Your tutorials have been a huge help to me!
I'm just curious, but what does it sound like when you don't voice over the crafting part? I mean, do you tend to scold your stuff for not cooperating? Also, pups need ear pro, too!
& then there's a Mace & chain which is essentially a flail on a chain. Either way, i wouldn't wanna be hit by either, especially by Svetlana, Benni or the corgis
I totally enjoy your smile and videos.....However, I am still waiting for you to do the original Princess Leia of Star Wars !! Perhaps it is to simple and not a challenge, but I think you would look great with the hair buns and the white outfit. I hope you will PLEASE consider it..... thanks...

OK...lights are cool....smoke is cool....and here I am blown away with cutting bevels at an angle to form the studs. What?
I know right?
BUY HER BOOKSS!!
Bennie we know this is you...lol
I wish Benni was this enthusiastic lol
Woo
I will
This is nothing short of amazing: you've crossed yet another threshold, from lights to SMOKE?! Very cool. Great video, too. Thanks.

Wow. KamuiCosplay is probably the coolest chanel on youtube.
So hyped to see Demonic Brigitte debut! 😍 Such an awesome design & you & Benny are the perfect mastermind duo to bring her to life!
Wow! That’s amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Benni at it again with the paint jobs that I, an artist for a living, could not replicate. Amazing job to the both of you!
i have a feeling i need to buy svetlana's books... i don't know why...
Don't ask me why...don't ask me why
I have a very good feeling this diablo skin will be in the game this coming Halloween
this looks amazing! although please be careful using the vaping device as a smoke machine ;-; they overheat really quickly especially when activated for such long periods at a time and not fully ventilated!! :(
Great Koonga Moonga!!!
That is the coolest thing of all the coolest things ever!
Your ingenuity with your builds never fails to amaze 😍
You can also use a fan + e-cigarette for the smoke.
I really love the final outcome. Your videos really help me to produce ideas about how to make cosplay versions of weapons and armors which appearance looks very hard to copy irl.
This prop is awesome!
Actually a flail is a weapon that has a spiked head suspended from a long chain. Check out what the Witchking uses in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King film. But truly amazing work regardless!
I wondered where you guys went!!! Missed you!!
Winter break :)
Ahhhh much needed I’m sure !!
Keep attention on your Smoke Maschine. E-Cigs you perss max. 15s for vapeing. Li-Ionen Batteries can Explode when they getting to hot.
When using a primer, is it all personal preference or do the ones you use specifically work for a specific kind of prop?
I think they have a video on comparing different primers that goes into pros and cons of each one. th-cam.com/video/ROZlkW96hFI/w-d-xo.html
my assumption is that they couldn't use plasti-dip to prime this one because they had translucent LED foam. plasti-dip would defeat the purpose of it being translucent so they used flexbond to help the LEDs stay visible after the paint job

Okay yeah. I guess that is pretty awesome. . . It's not like I was hyped to see this ever since I saw it on your Instagram or anything.
I was waiting for this!!!
oh my god IT'S SO COOL!!!
3:57 honestly the funniest part of the video 👏
AMAZING! It looks so good it makes me want to cry ... in a good sense 😁
It's amazing!! 😍
I suddenly have this strange desire to buy her books. Don't know why...

❤️❤️❤️ damn why are you so inspiring! This is amazing. I have bought one book and need more!!!!
finally!!!! so happy . good job as usual
i love this cosplayer.. i will be buying her books and she inspires my wife and i to keep improving our skills!!!!
The key to amazing props? Foam Sausages and Kamui's Books!

Diese Waffe schaut so crazy cool aus 👌 vorallem der Rauch trägt viel an dem guten aussehen bei 👍
Are you going to do a tutorial for Brigitte armor?
Omg this is so awesome! I probably watched it like 10 times! I know you usually do armor w/ foam instead of just costumes so I was wondering if you could maybe make an armor set from Breath of the Wild.
As soon as my design is finished, I know which books to get, so I can build my armor. ;)
Safety first :D 8:49
Hi, i'm from Cape Verde, i'm starting on creating props and cosplay and I love your works😍👮👏👏
Queen of Sausage foam clay after that one MH armor XD that last annnnndddd clean your... ((no spoilers here))
You are so talented and cute!! :)
can you make a tutorial on how to make a sword sheath out of eva foam?
Maybe a video on air brushing! seems very daunting but so fun!
Damn i knew i forgot something when i went to the bathroom helpful hint around the end of the video.
Is there a tutorial on the big sword in the back?
only on the blog on my website if you scroll back a few years :)
"sausages" 😂💜
Another fresh and cute video for this amazing and talented girl. Nothing better to start my morning.
Pretty cool!
You're AWESOME!
Are magnets are strong enough to keep upper part of flail , until performance with fast fighting moves for example ? 🤔
I know Svetlana don't really cosplay anime characters but I wish you guys could make Raphtalia cosplay from The Rising of the Shield Hero
With her armor and sword
It'd be so helpful :')
Flail really looks KICK-ASS!!! 😎👍
Enjoyed watching this.
This vid's ending. 😂
I love it, but I'm pretty sure this is a mace and not a flail. A flail usually has a chain to attach the handle to the head.
100%
SO. HECKIN. COOL.
Wow beautiful I want to make a genji sword or a Reinhardt hammer but I'm out of foam
Can you make an reply on how to make it?
Please please please come to London MCM comicon this year! 😁😍 ( Club together for a ticket?!)
I loveee your work! You are amazingg
Very COOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!
What type/model of motor did you use for the smoke machine?
The ad omg 😂 so awesome
Ottimo lavoro complimenti, che tipo di Arduino nano hai usato?
Wipe your poop! Brilliant work looks wonderful 👍
You must use special batteries for the smoke machine. Simple batteries can do BOOM and fire show ))
7:15 and you will both ride to the gates of Val Halla
Why cant I build like that, oh I dont have the books yet hmm :/, I think I need every single book that I can buy, so i can build a costume in 2 days
Yowjo Normally the costume she makes takes up to like 6 to 14 weeks and you are I don’t know if your making as complex ones she does but I don’t know so just to say
@@jill3929 It was sarcasm I even can't make gloves in 1 month xD

@@KamuiCosplay Awesome, thank you very much!!
How about doing a totally original Harry Potter/Star Wars mash-up character like Harrison Ford Potter?
Great stuff!
hello :o I have a little question: what kind of glue did you use to fix the magnets? When I use contact cement, they fall off :/
You might try super glue.
her camera is so high quality that it almost makes her look 3d animated
A great build! Very inspiring! Why is your corgi wearing ear protectors around its neck?
Corgis need ear protection too
Oooo. Smoke!
paint layering makes the difference.

Beautiful, and the lights and smoke are killer. But I think its technically a mace, not a flail.
Oh technicalities
& then there's a Mace & chain which is essentially a flail on a chain.
Either way, i wouldn't wanna be hit by either, especially by Svetlana, Benni or the corgis
SO AWESOME!! But aren’t you ever concerned that your electronics will overheat and melt something?
Die Axt sieht echt Nice aus 👍
Könntet ihr mal den Schild von Brigitte nachbauen ??? Z.B. aus Plexiglas ...
Awesome!
I need a vid about all setting sprays. Shiny, matt, satin..... ♥
Forget it, I found it in one of your books xD
Замечательно позитивное видео))
So sick 😍😍
That's awesome...
You must be a god a gift giving.
I tried looking around local stores and couldn't find any LED foam/plastazote
Are there any other materials that may make a decent substitute?
I totally enjoy your smile and videos.....However, I am still waiting for you to do the original Princess Leia of Star Wars !! Perhaps it is to simple and not a challenge, but I think you would look great with the hair buns and the white outfit. I hope you will PLEASE consider it..... thanks...
I'm surprised you can slide pieces on after applying contact cement. The stuff I use bonds instantly and will not move.
Well not mine :)
So I made a giant hammer recently. I put some small dowel rods inside to help keep the handle steady with the hammer head. Is that ok or unnecessary?
Wouldn't it be easier to prime with a airbrush? or is the sealant too thick for it?
Hmm - flail?
As Diablo player I would have called this a mace.
A flail is a spiked ball on a chain (Morgenstern).
I know but in the game she can extend it and swing it around on a chain
@@KamuiCosplay ah ok, I didn't know that :-)
So do you calculate the weight when you are planning your outfits ?
Is it possible to make your own foam clay?
I'm still extremely broke right now. But I promise you, one day, I'll make something like this and bring my dream costume to life.. 😭😭✨✨✨✨🌹
How’d you make the perfect circular Eva foam?
Question!
Is the translucent EVA also primed with FlexBond or is it just airbrushed?
