    Awesome!
    I had made a couple purity seals recently for my space marine cosplay. I burned them, but I hadn't considered using a belt sander to rough them up like you did. I may have to try that out.

    Idea. Maybe a tech priest purity seal should be an old punch card?

  • @karstenvonfjellheim5321
    @karstenvonfjellheim5321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Coffee grounds for staining. Have you not tried that, to stain with? The seals still look "too new", maybe the canvas is a tad too thick-but it does look great, don't get me wrong.

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can't add any water based or dirt based weathering on top of the transfer because of the plastic coating it will leave a distinct outline around the transfer area.

    What’s the too you used to make the starter seal? Or was it just something about the right size?

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Pearson just something about the right size. Honestly you could use just about anything to flatten down the clay. But I used the sculpting tools to clean it up and give it a little more character

    How difficult would it be to make something similar out of wax, for a candle or something like that? would red food coloring work?

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      J C I could easily pour wax into the mold instead of resin. Rather than adding food coloring I would just melt down the color you want

    • @JC-ze2et
      @JC-ze2et 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SKSProps all I have is white wax from stubs from those emergency candles, and all I really want is to make something cool for my shelf, and candles would be useful too. I know that I would have to put a little blue in as well to darken it, I just don't know if food coloring would mix well with the wax, or if I would need to get a special wax dye. also, any tips to avoid the wax collapsing in as it cools would be very helpful.

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      J C everything I see online says food coloring should work if you try it and let me know the outcome!

    Could you just use red was for thr mold instead of white then painting it?

    • @SKSProps
      @SKSProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Inquisitor John you could use smooth on 325 and color tint it but it would not be opaque. Anything else would be more pink than red because it curing white or off white. Just easier to paint it once cured

    These are really well made and impressive. If you still have an injet printer you can buy A4 and A3 canvas sheets to run through it. I made a video about making purity seals a year or so ago th-cam.com/video/bLujm8b2rD8/w-d-xo.html but your video has inspired me to revisit and redo the video better.
