Can you tell me what saw blade you use on your bandsaw?
Thank you for the list.
I use an 18 TPI metal cutting blade for cutting foam. I think it's 1/2" thick. It doesn't leave a perfect cut surface, but it's pretty good.
@@punishedprops Thank you!
Who else had a flashback to Svetlana going insane over making the Nergigante spikes and chuckling when Bill laughed so cutely looking at the two dozen he made
HAH! Baby steps!
i frikin love this guy
Aw thanks!
@@punishedprops thank U mate i started watching u a few months ago and i was a newbie to foamsmithing but now i have a mandalorian helmet at my desk and weapons galore, all thanks to ur funny and interesting and informative videos!
That came out great!
Thanks very much!
Hi william subscriber
That sounds amazing whooshing through the air!
Knowing full well that you're pros at your craft - I still get excited for you two to see when your projects so thoroughly and beautifully come to life.
We still get excited too XD It's great when things work out!
He always has his hat and is really chill it's the perfect combo
I'm a simple man with simple needs
The woosh when you swung the finished mace at the very end was so satisfying!
Right? It's just the best!
Hey Bill, I noticed your skill bandsaw was starting to sound like mine on more difficult resaw cuts. There is a simple fix. Just losen the bolt on the back near the motor housing and move the motor housing further away from the blade. This will tighten the drive belt and make all cuts so much easier. Hope this helps.
Hey thanks for the tip!
Bill's fingers near band saw made me wince!!
Good work, love you show.
@ 31:10 that smile on Brittany's face as she was helping looked like such a satisfying and genuine happy smile it's wonderful!
We have a lot of fun doing what we do :)
@@punishedprops I full heartedly agree. What you do looks like fun. And when you're having that much fun it's not even work anymore.
Bill, Brittany!!!! Where'd you guys go?! We need more awesome videos!!!!
Teacher: to get the circumference you-

Teacher: *no...*

Foam is a valid math tool!
@@punishedprops lol true. Love the weapon even though it's from a game idk!
Axes, hammers, ie big bonky swingy things are +A character design in my book.
I ran into the same issue you did at 7:13 wrapping 10mm foam around a tube when I made my M2 flamethrower backpack. I found the easiest way to remedy the huge gap was to make the wrap about an inch longer and beveling each edge .5 inch in. One bevel going up, the other down.
When it's wrapped and glued, there's less stress of shear force trying to rip apart the seam. It also helps a whole helluva lot to heat form the curve too. It's pretty much an invisible seam too.
I always enjoy the days we get videos from you guys!!
That's really great to hear, thank you for your support!
Great video! Good to see you guys!
Thanks so much for watching!
Your modpodge woodgrain effect worked really well on my Tiki mask. Thank You!!
You're so welcome!
Great timing, very inspiring, exactly the ideas and techniques I needed right now
Great to hear!
This turned out so great! I've been watching a lot of your videos, and I also love playing Valheim. I want to try to make Frostner, and your videos as well as SKS Props' videos have been giving me some great ideas. Thank you for putting out great content!
Hello and greetings from Monmouth Oregon! Love all your work and your sense of humor and that's what makes your posts worth watching, not to mention all the simple walkthroughs you provide 🤙
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you taking the time to watch our content!
I love that u just wing some parts and still looks so good. U give me hope that i can do this too
You absolutely can! Winging it is a critical part of prop making :)
This is amazing, I love it
Thanks so much!
My favorite method of taking out deathsquitos is with the dragur bow and needle arrows. It's net-needle-positive and such tasty vengeance!
Ooh nice!
Fantastic video!
Thanks buddy!
Before the video even starts, great to see a new vid from you guys!
Woohoo!
awsome job bill and britt looks really great
Thank you very much!
Ive been binging your vids all morning and doing a lot of research, I think I just found my new hobby. Ive always loved making things with my hands, and Ive always loved video games. Thank you ❤
Heck yeah! Thanks so much for watching, and have fun with your next project!
Another epic build! Can't wait till the next.
Thanks for watching!
That was really fun. Thanks for this one!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that was a crazy build! The spikes are so ridiculous, but that's why it's amazing. :) Loved seeing another long build video again. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for watching!
That came out so nice!
Thank you very much!
It's awesome to see more foam weapons, definitely some of my favorite videos from the channel. It would be cool to see Loki related stuff to celebrate the Disney+ series
Thanks for watching and letting us know you'd enjoy that content!
Love this
That mace came out sick 😱👌🏼
Thanks so much!
This looks really amazing^^
Thank you very much!
that came out AWESOME!!! I love the Mod Podge affect for metal... need to remember that.
It's SUPER handy! Thanks for watching :)
Just made our Monday!!!
Cheers!
Foam is one of the crafts I have not tackled yet! Plan on jumping on it as soon as Comic-Con opens back up!
Oh it's so fun! We're excited to see what you make :)
It's completely ridiculous, but that feels appropriate given the source material. Looks awesome!
It IS ridiculous! We adore it
I listened to you describe this project on the Tested podcast a few days ago, so I was waiting for this to be posted.
Right on!
This needs to be your Christmas Tree Topper
HAH!
"Hide your crimes." I'm so sloppy, I'm the Dexter of hiding my crimes when foam-smithing. LOL
HAH!
Yet another amazing creating u guys, u and your wacky creations inspire me, and made me who I am today as a cosplayer, especially with my recent Safi jiiva Greatsword
Hey thanks so much, we really appreciate your support!
That is super cool, and the spikes are amazing. And that is a neat sound when you swing it.
I was expecting some green in the metal, because the black metal always has a green tint.
Isn't it fun!? Thanks for watching the video!
I was clenching so hard when he was cutting that taper into that foam...
No worries! The band saw is one of the safest tools we have in our shop :)
One of my favorite weapons from the game!
It's just so fun!
@@punishedprops The weapon I had the most fun using though has to be the Stagbreaker ^^
Nice build Bill! :)
Thanks so much!
@@punishedprops Always a pleasure to watch your build!
love this build bill! you guys are one of my favorite prop makers, gotta say when you started playing with the spikes on my fingers i couldn’t help but think of a few spiky/sharp clawed famous characters and i think it would be awesome if you did some, like freddy krueger or wolverine gloves! i even thought of edward scissor hands 😂
Fun ideas! Thanks so much for watching :)
Super cool =D
Thanks so much!
I was watching too much Alec Steele this morning and I'm not used to watching things being cut like butter with pocket knives. My brain hurts.
HAH! That is quite the 180
Whoah so cool! THE PORCUPINE
It's a beast!
When will we get another video
FUN! :D
Right?
What has happened with you guys, you were one of my favorite props channel on youtube, but since a lot of time you ´ve just started vanishing of youtube, hope you can come back as before. I really miss your videos. Hope you can read it Bill, í´m a huge fan.
We're still putting out our usual two videos a week to our Extra Credit Club, but our next channel build is coming soon!
Apply glow powder after painting to get a better effect 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the tip!
Absolutely amazing.
In honor of Masters of the Universe Revelation coming out next month I’d like to see you build He-man power sword or Evil-Lyn staff or Skeletor’s sword or his Havoc Staff.
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@punishedprops you’re welcome. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet I’d recommend watching it.
38:40 Mixing games I see. It fits.
Sometimes ya just gotta!
Absolutely amazing!!! The day you do anything ninja turtle related is the day I know I can die in peace, lol

We do all our sound effects in-house 😎
Great build. It was fun to watch and I always love your enthusiasm. I noticed you wearing a respirator when applying the contact cement. Do you use the same filters on that when you are doing the contact cement as well as sanding? Or do I need special filters for the different materials?
this is a fun build of a mace!
Btw. before you dismantle and throw the old server to the garbage, make sure to look for all the nice Greeblies inside!
We have QUITE the greeblies collection already and since we were moving out of the shop we yeeted that server into the dump XD More greebs will come!
@@punishedprops yeah I can imagine.
Whoa! A cordless heat gun!?!? I have to get one
It's pretty handy! Our outlets in the basement shop had trouble with heat guns in the past so we got this one :)
Cat hair aka a trait/infusion of the prop
Accurate
there is a way to find the center of a circle with just a compass.
I feel like you guys just moved in there. Time flies. Dang.
Isn't it crazy? 3 years flies by!
*war cries at the beginning*
Me over here with a horn next to my desk: *smug smile*
Hehehehehehehe
Do you guys have any Mold making / Resin casting projects coming up? Love your guys work and dedication BTW!
I'm not sure! We just moved our shop so things are a bit in flux at the moment. Thanks so much for supporting us and watching our content!
You should do a collaboration with Odin Makes !!!
He's on of our good friends! Maybe when the Pandemic is fully over we'll think about it
Sometimes in the summer the dollar store near me has extremely cheap foam footballs for kids to play at the beach. Have you ever tried using prefab foam shapes like that in your builds?
I haven't but that's a great option if you're on a budget! I wonder if the coating those have would make it tough for paint to stick
21:31 Ba~ba duuuke....~duuke
Hah!
Is there any way to preserve that chip brush you used for glue? I would like to be able to use the brush again if possible.
That would be cool if the spikes were resin with leds inside
Oh yeah! We wanted to be able to smack ours around without worrying about the spikes snapping but that would look awesome!
The spikes are only too big if you are being hit/killed with them. Lol.
Mood
I just realized, they haven't done a Vermintide build. But they must be so busy.
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
@@punishedprops omg....made my day in the AK.
Any suggestions on how to make it a solid head for the mace? For those of us who want a little more weight.
Hmmmm You could try casting it out of expanding foam or a latex foam. Or you could glue something on the inside of the hollow tip to add some weight.
You guys should make a master chief helmet from Halo
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
Hey I know you probably won’t see this but I’ve been a big fan of the original Ben 10 since I was a little kid and I was hoping you could do one of these with an omnitrix
can you guys do a lego man head or even a full costume?
17:05 I expected exacto knife followed by a heat gun, any particular reason for the iron? More texture? Really fun build, it's so great to see Bill's reaction when the spikes are glued on :D
It creates a different texture! It's easier to do more organic lines and get some awesome variance in depth and width of the line. If I used a blade and heat gun, the lines would all be an even width and look less natural.
@@punishedprops Gotcha, didn't think of the thickness variation, thanks!
You guys should make Hanzo's bow from Overwatch!!!
Thanks for letting us know you're interested in that build! We have our current schedule worked out, but there could be room for this kind of video in future plans.
"I'm feelin' a little anxious"
Constant state of existence
watching this video sped up is scary
I bet!
Would be cool to see the mace from black ops 3 made
Thanks for the suggestion!
Nah, those spikes come from deathsquitos. Those mfers can one-shot you in early levels. It makes sense that they're huge. This looks AMAZING. I love it.
Thanks so much! And yeah, acquiring all those was..... fun
29:23 - anyone else only see the piñata from hell?
HAH!

Which point? We have MANY XD
@@punishedprops well played sir....well played

HAH!
Replace the pip boy cuff With leather ! I just watched the pip boy video any you said you would do it.
We'll see!
Is there any possibility to order it ?
Thanks for your interest but we don't sell the props we make
This is probably a super long shot, but you wouldn’t happen to do pattern commission would you?
I feel like they switch their heat gun every five videos XD
In the Tested podcast, Bill said they moved out of that shop back into their basement. He also said that using a heat gun down there would on occasion trip the breaker and the lights would go off, so a battery operated heat gun is great.
Yep! Also we may have uh... broken a heat gun or two and had to replace it
Isn't that life? Also I may have melt the cord a time or 2 when setting it down when hot. Never to the point of exposed wires. The 1 we had before would always pull itself onto its cord when set down. We moved a power strip under our workbench so that ii plugs in below rather than at the back of the bench, that seems to help stop that and using the vise as a stand/holder when hot. Haven't killed 1 yet, but we are a once in a great while user rather than a daily tool.
I was wondering if you every use anything to seal in all the paint on the final product. I'm worried the my projects will be ruined due to rain and snow, especially because I want them to be resistant to such weather. I've seen some people use clear varnish but I've also heard varnish dries hard and could be prone to cracking. I'm really at a loss about what to use.
We seal sometimes, other times we don't - it just depends on how we want to use the prop. If you have something rigid like a sword you can seal it with varnish or a regular clear coat, because it doesn't need to flex. Flexible sealing is a little more challenging but can be done! Check out our foam sealing guide: th-cam.com/video/ug6Rs06FEpk/w-d-xo.html
@@punishedprops thanks!
Have you made any minecraft props if not you should make some or also some Jedi fallen order stuff would be cool
😍
😀
How are you feeling 32:10
The world may never know
super not safe band saw operation there, Bill.
Please be careful of your fingers when using the band saw! For small bits especially it's a good idea to push with another piece to keep your flesh further away.
I find it easier and safer to have more control over what I'm cutting so I'm not accidentally pushing something the wrong way!
A gun from valorant would look incredible in your hands ngl 0-0
I really hope you answer this 🙏my question is regarding the silicon bonding, assuming I want my different pieces of silicon to bond, how strong will the bond actually be? Would it be as strong as silicon the was poured all at once?
Knowing that Bill & his crew are probably really busy & might take some time to respond @OdinMakes might be able to Help answer your question
@@tpseeker3367 thank you!!!
@@doonyoo374 if neither reply just do a test on spare material.
@@tpseeker3367 I wish I could, I just don't have any, I'm pre beginner with a specific project in mind, I'm doing all the research I can before I start
