I am unfortunately a Prairie Chicken...but I fell in love with the ocean the first time my father took us out to Vancouver Island when I was a kid, I love being on boats...as I type this I get a little misty bc it's been years since I've been able to go out there again...but I will always love the sounds and smells of the ocean...thank you for sharing your coast with me...God bless...

I agree, I grew up at the Pacific Ocean, Yachats Oregon. My parents are both gone so I value the time your spending with yours. We didn't have ice, but the smell of the ocean is home to me. I'm moving there soon. I spent hours at the ocean, your not crazy. Blessings to you all.

Only people from the bay know that feeling when returning to the salt water. It's a feeling like no other. It's great to have you part of our community, and even being from the opposite side of North America, we still have a lot in common.

Hi from Corvallis! Wish I was able to move to the coast. Oregon coast is so beautiful.

Growing up in Weymouth, MA on Quincy Bay, we had lots of rockweed (kelp). When the tide came in you had to swim past it to get to more open water. And we played with periwinkles. Moved to NH as an adult and when we visited the coast, I'd gather up rockweed for my garden. Nothing better for veggies. Hi from Oregon, US.

It's great to have you here from Oregon. Dad is obsessed with getting kelp for the garden. I guess you love the smell of the ocean after being away from it for a while. For me, it brings back so many great memories every time I get to smell the ocean.

Very interesting. As an artist I would love to try to capture some of that beauty with my paints. Never have seen an iceberg.

Just do a Google search of Newfoundland Icebergs. We get Icebergs every spring/summer. We're in what's known as iceberg alley, so some drift closer to shore and will make it's way in the bays of a lot of towns in Newfoundland.

Triton is an awesome spot, been there a number of times over the years. Spent some time there working on the cellular network, stayed at Fudges a few time delicious fish. Yep likes iceberg ice in my drink , I have a video up last summer from Twillingate where we got out in the boat and got really close to the bergs and got some ice for our drinks lol. Oh yeah and we got fish too lol. I grew up on the south coast near the water too , and can totally relate to the smell of the ocean. Great drone footage, great video.

      Thanks, much appreciated.
Being from the bay is a different upbringing than most people realize. Small communities have a more family style of living even towards people with whom you have no relation.

Is the ice berg ice/water salty being it came from a salt water body?

No salt at all. It's constantly melting, so there's no salt being added to the ice. As you seen in the video with me eating that kittle piece of ice, there was no taste of salt, just pure fresh water.

There’s nothing better than the smell of salt air, I grew up on the east cost of Nova Scotia . I seen two icebergs when my family explored Newfoundland. I was 12 then but still remover that that moment was truly magical. My husband and I would love to come again! I never got to kiss the cod lol

@darleneallen3135 hahaha you really need to plan a trip. Do lots of research before your tip to find the best time to visit and the best areas to visit. Its a big island with lots of beautiful scenery. Gros Morne should be on the top of your list.
