IRON ISLES

I wanted to create a vast expanse that wraps around the viewer, in this sense this piece of work has cinematic quality to it. A medley of oxidised iron, copper sulphate and acrylic makes this aerial style depiction of an imagined landscape where sea hits the mountains, beneath the incoming clouds. Inspired by my trips to Iceland where minerals clash together forming vivid colours when seen from afar, I wanted to capture this feweling of a living earth.
