The Douche was honestly the funniest character in the movie.

He's one of the few villains in recent memory that I felt had actual "weight" to him. As in, it felt he could potentially do some messed up things even to the protagonists. Often times villains just feel too watered down, all bark and no bite.

I was surprised this movie even had a villain. An incredibly scary intimidatingly menacing villain at that. Loved him. He was my favourite part in the movie. Brilliant villain

The scene where the douche basically rapes a helpless juice box is one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a while. I know it's just a movie and they're inanimate objects, but the scene is so mean spirited I felt sick watching it

In Food Fight, food brands take the form of a singular individual who band together and fight off generic X brands with a touch of systemic corruption. In Sausage Party, the food all have their own personalities (all the individual corn-on-the-cobs have their own consciousness) as they pray to the "Gods" to whisk them away to eternity. This film battles touchy religious topics and a hint of racism/sexism.
Nick Kroll is so funny, he was great in Uncle Drew and I can't wait for Sing 2 to see him reprise his voice as Gunther

I can't say I know what the FIRST movie was, but I can tell you there have been R-rated fully CGI animated movies already. And as far as Beowulf (I think its PG-13), whether or not the movie is "cartoony" or not is irrelevant because that wasn't even mentioned. A quick google search can give you a list of movies that have already been out over the past ten years or so. Sausage Party is probably the most commercially successful, and hopefully it will make people more open to the idea that animation can be appealing to adults as well as kids. I'd love to see another Heavy Metal.
Appleseed (2004) is the only R rated CGI animation I could find, though that only released in Japan I suppose it still counts. Beowulf was PG-13, yes. If they had gone just a little further and said it was the first "big budget" r-rated CGI, then that would be a fair claim, though I guess that didn't sound impressive enough.

As a fifteen year old girl heavily protected by her parents from stuff like this movie, I have not seen it, so I cant say if its good or bad, but one thing's for sure: the character design for a big portion of this movie is really cool and creative and definitely makes me want to see it in the future
