I almost didn't watch it because I thought it was just going to be kids acting silly (not that there's anything wrong with that, of course) but it blew my mind at how complex it became. Jessi's storyline in particular was so heartbreaking... It really is NOTHING like what I thought it was going to be.

Kind of a shame we regard a show like bigmouth as filthy and wonder whether kids should be able to watch it when it pretty accurately addresses exactly what a lot of these kids are experiencing at that age. Seems more like age appropriate humor to me. We are more willing to allow kids to watch violent action and horror movies than a comedy that actually deals with puberty as honestly as it can.
My cousin thinks it rots the brain. He didn't have an average puberty. He was an over achiever and missed out on a lot of fun things in his teenage life. Seems to me like he's jealous that me and his li'l bro are living the life he never got to...lmao

It's true- this show is a great vehicle to talk to your kids. My girl is 12 and has been battling depression for over a year. She really identified with Jessie and the depression kitty. She talked to me about it through that. Any spark right now is a victory.
