State pension is not a benefit. I worked all my life and paid taxes for England. The people who should be checked are the ones who have lived on Benefits all their lives and have paid nothing into the country Dispicable..!
100% agreement. I left school at 15 and worked till I was nearly 65. They take WFA off me. If I did't get my arse out of bed and never worked I'd still have a better phone, tv and probably enough to afford to drink every day
I have paid into this since I left school at 15 when I started work we had no choice it was deducted from our pay automatically, I tried to divert it to a private pension but the government said no so I didn't get a private pension as I couldn't afford both at the time
You paid 'into' nothing, your deductions paid the state pension of those already retired, there is no state pension 'pot'. The state pension is, literally, a state benefit. With the current low birthrate the state pension is going to be unable to pay people by as soon as 2035.
Slash state pension’s,there’s not much to slash, they seem to think they are paying us a fortune,I’d swap mine for the pension Starmer awarded himself and it’s tax free, two grand a week he’s going to really struggle on that and he’s talking about slashing our pension, the man’s a total Tosser.
State pension is not a benefit people paid taxes and national insurance all there working life to get this plus the gov gave a percentage to our pension pot what didthey do with he money bad investment or what
Probably because this government is duplicitous and don't want to tell you their end game, they said they would keep the triple lock but didn't say they are looking at means testing it. Yes the UK gov should be straight with us
I don’t think a lot of people have realised that, anybody who pays tax is not going to get the 4-1% because they will take back 20% of that figure in tax, they must think we’re really stupid not to know what there up to.
It takes years of paying in to get a pension. I believe you only need to be an MP for one day to get their pensions, and Starmer has changed the rules to lock in his pension!
If he slashed the benefits of the ones on welfare that are getting between £20K and £90K or more, to a realistic level (OAP's level) I think they would save around £3 billion a year.
The Universal Credit rate for a single person under 25 is £311.68 per month that is £72 per week. For a couple under 25 it is £112.90, which works out as £56.45 each per week. It does not cover living costs which is one reason why young people end up living on the streets, such people dying at a younger age. The governments plans for assisted dying making it far easier to pressure people to end their lives because they cannot afford to live. Additionally their are plans to use artificial intelligence to replace people, so you could find yourself in the same position as those you so gleefully suggest should have welfare cut. People cannot get jobs unless there is employment to be found, we are in recession, particularly as a result of high energy costs, the US having blown up Nordstream, sanctions, and the current war mongering and imbecilic policies of our government such as Carbon Net Zero. You are evidently delusional the maximum benefits you can claim is as follows: The current cap is: £486.98 per week (£2,110.25 per month or £25,323 per year) for couples and lone parents in Greater London. £423.46 per week (£ 1,835 per month or £22,020 per year) for couples and lone parents outside Greater London. The above figure is for a couple, so should be halved to give the amount per person so outside London it would be £11, 010 a year for each person of the couple. This is nowhere near the 20k and 90k you are telling people, which indicates you are delusional. The country is in recession by cutting the amount received for the least well off in society, who already do not have enough for living costs it makes the economy worse, as there is increased bad debt, increased costs associated with health both physical and mental health, and people are unable to afford to pay for goods in their community, food, warmth and shelter especially take more than is available, so businesses will close, increasing unemployment and further reducing the money circulating within the local community.
As we've paid into the system for our state pension then any reductions should be met with demands for our contributions to be given back to us pensioners
The wide spread deppresion of the elderly myself included, the fear of what he will come next. He wants the houses that we live in the space we occupied as indigenouse people to give to a man from a land that dose not respect that space.
Starmer keeps paying out billions of £ for people who should not be in the country, there are illegals who been in the country for years who have claimed benefits all those years, not a word about cutting their benefits, Starmer let us take it off the pensioners and give it to the illegals
You have not paid enough into the system to get a better state pension. Everyone should have taken out a private pension 50 years ago or par a lot more tax.
I did David and now it is being means tested which is why We no longer get WFA and if they are allowed to means test the triple lock, I wonder why I paid in to a company pension.
I worked on a zero hour contract within the NHS, and paid into the occupational pension scheme only to find they have effectively stolen the pension contributions. It would be impossible to pay more tax and live, as the salary failed to provide enough to cover the costs of food, warmth and shelter, which causes damage to one's health. The occupational pension scheme being based on a percentage of one's salary, of 5%, then when one is low paid, with long term health problems, then your pension will be ridiculously low as well. Your idea would in effect mean culling the population, and we paid National Insurance, to pay for a pension, over the last 50 years and to provide a safety net. The attitude by the NHS being that once they've got the money it's theirs, so make us pay it, we are in control, and we will do as we see fit regardless, because we are the NHS.
@@geoffreypalmer911 if you paid into a private pension this would have been tax free. I saved 40p in the pound paying into a private pension. As long as I don’t withdraw more than £40,000 a year I will only be paying 20% tax. Seems fair enough to me. In addition the pension investments have increased massively over the years. Another bonus.

The SP is literally a benefit from the state.
We still have one of the lowest state pensions in Europe.
Pensioners 4.1% , Train Drivers 22%. Stop thowing money away overseas
UK pensioners along with the pensioners of Denmark receive the lowest pension in Europe.
And he wants to cut it even further. A true Muppet.

Well someone's gotta pay for all the new comers haven't they?
NOT THAT MANY PENSIONERS ARE ON THE “ FULL NEW STATE PENSION “
Europe's poor man. Starmer will be replaced n the OAPs will rejoice !
I t is against the law to slash our pensions. We have worked all our life for our pension, and you cannot touch it.

Not for all pensioners. Get it right. We all want thr top rate
Just get him out. PLEASE
It's about time Ministers wages were locked at and their expenses.
Except if my Pension is increasing by £400 in April 2025 but remember the Government has taken £300 so the increase is actually £100

Is starmer and the rest of his government going to slash their wages.
Why are all your photos showing healthy happy pensioners? There are not many like that.

How many workers live to retire, plus the costs too keep up with a retired pair visits to hospitals. Are they strong enough to use public transport.?
what about the data protection act
