As someone who has been filming with the Canon C70 for the last few years. I've slowly started integrating the R5M2 into my video shoots and because of it's superior focus system, I may be selling my C70 and just use this camera for all my video work. Clog 2 and internal raw in 8K is amazing. And with a good lighting setup it mimics C70 look pretty well. I can see feature film work being done with this camera-
This is coming from an ex R5 shooter: I got my R5 II 5 days ago. I had one professional shoot for video commercial 2 days ago - the clients were STUNNED by the video quality, this camera blew their mind... It blew my mind too! The image is cleaner than the original R5, the contrast is better, the autofocus is 2 times better(video & photo!), just amazing!!! I just received a call for second project from from the same guys 2 days ago and im not even ready with this project! 🤩💸 IF you are a professional and you are making money by Filmmaking or Photoshoots - you should buy the new R5 II for sure!
Just bought R52 3 days ago... But I'm confused about the lenses.. I have a budget of 700$ right now .. which first lens should I buy ?? What about the card Cfexpress card or normal?
@@iabdulhaseeb I’m using those lenses: RF 85mm f1.2 DS Version + RF 70-200 f2.8 + RF 100mm f2.8 Macro + RF 14-35 f4.0 Memory Card: Lexar Professional CFexpress type B
For that weird "noise pattern" you mentioned turn off lens correction in LR. This eliminates the strange banding on both the R5 and the R5II at high ISO when you push the shadows. I'm not sure why it occurs but disabling lens correction fixes it (unless it's a different banding than the one I'm referring to).
Great review, thanks for putting out this thoughtful video! Just curious, do you ever use a gimbal head for your work? I'm shopping around for one and would like to know what folks recommend. Thanks and cheers from San Francisco!
One thing to note is that eventhough mechanical shuther and electronic shutter are both 14bits that does not mean the noise performance is equal. Its still beter in Mechanical shutter.
Hi Kris great video at the moment. I have a R7 with 100-500 and I am thinking of going for 5:30 the R5 mark ii but I am a bit concerned about the reach as it is a full frame camera I do bird photography wildlife do you think with the 45 mp I will be able to zoom in on your computer so I won’t notice much of a difference as it’s 13 mp then the R7 any advice you could give me would be much appreciated thanks KeithDavies
My R6 ii VF fogged up for the first time last weekend in persistent drizzle. Highly annoying. Its never done it before in any conditions. I'd definitely purchase a R5 ii if I could justify the expense.
At 25,00 ISO it is best to go to Clog 1. Clog2 is very noisy in low light. I know for my R5 when I use Clog 1 in low light there is literally no noise at 25,000 ISO
Personally, I’ve tried everything and the the R5ii blows everything out of the water in clog2 with a rec709 convert. I’ve only shot aurora at extreme ISO’s though so maybe different subjects are going to perform differently… Perhaps a youtube video test is in order
@@KrisLuckPhoto actually I just did some tests in my neighborhood in complete dark with Clog3 and it does really good at 25,000 ISO. Especially adding noise reduction in Davinci with the Luna 45 it’s basically almost gone. I am working with the R5. Love this camera. That being said how much better is the R5ii then the R5 for video? I do think the R5 autofocus in video jumps a lot. It’s pretty frustrating. Is the R5ii autofocus on part with Sony
Comparing to the R5, it feels about the same in terms of length. However, I am now using 8k60 and 30fps a lot so I bet the battery is better if you use the same settings as the R5. There are reviews that show the new battery in the R5C gets nearly double the record time
I'm about to unsubscribe from any double SD card or micro HDMI slot moaner. If you have the money for a 4K camera, how is it you can't afford high-quality original cables and cards? I wonder, you clowns!

These images are fantastic!
Thanks for the great, in-depth review! I've been researching the R5 mk ii to upgrade from DSLR.
It will definitely be worth it!
Same here
Same here.
Same here! Waiting and excited for A1m2 announcement on the 19th though. I wish R1 had more than 24mp.
Great video buddy! I’m currently working on my full review also
Not close to finished😂
Nice! It’s a great camera and I’m sure I havent touched the surface on its capabilities yet

Thanks! Forgot about that, i just started using the Lightroom AI denoise instead haha

I recently got a FlexPro Shooter Ball/“gimbal” head. Definitely my favorite tripod head for wildlife

Is this true? I’m going to have to try it out!

Great video! Wish I could get up to the northern part of the world to shoot some day! 😊
Great review.
I wish they had implement the video toggle switch round the joystick/touchpad in a similar way to the R1.
Totally agree
Got mine yesterday to stand beside my 5DS R monster.

Did you have a 600mm f4 ? oO
The battery is good?

@@KrisLuckPhoto Thank U your answer!
The battery is not strong enough to power large dual motor lenses.
Video swith on left, did Canon do that purposely or some lunatic approved it. 😂😂😂
Complicated review. Something a little better for a trpple price or mayne still the same.

Can I ask what on God’s green earth are you talking about?
Canon shill!😂😂
