I’ve had my g7x mark ii for 2 years or so, never actually thought you could mount a wide angle lens on it. Thanks for this videos, now I want to invest in one 😮😆

The barrel distortion is very apparent when used close up, but does not seem so bad in general use. You should be able to fix that for photographs when needed by shooting in raw, but you will have to straighten everything up manually. It seems to be a great gadget.

Hi! I've been looking for a wide lens for g7x mark ii, since the neewer lens is designed for mark iii, hindi naman ba loose yung lens? and until now ba wala ka na encounter na problems while vlogging and taking photos? huhu thanks! planning to buy one din kasi :)😊
Hii 🤗 I’ve been using it for 4 months now and it’s very sturdy! It fits perfectly! The only difference is that the Neewer logo is not positioned symmetrically but it doesn’t affect its functionality ☺️ I hope it helped!
Also your camera will be heavier to carry around 😅 but you can still easily remove it when moving around ☺️

First of all, thank you for you comment! I really appreciate it! 🥺 and sorry for my late reply! I hope you resolve the issue, if not: in which mode are you filming?
1) Make sure you are filming or shooting with either the C (custom), M (manual), Av (aperture value), Tv (time value) or P (Program AE).
2) Check if the Digital Zoom is set to standard.
3) Check the number of recording pixel. I set mine to S1 which is 2736 x 1536. Not every image size will allow the ZoomPlus option.

Yes! It is designed for the Mark III version but it also fits into the Mark II version like I showed 😁 I’ve been using it now for 2 months and it is still intact and didn’t create any issue

While vlogging what did you have your camera on? Vlogging tripod or gimbal?
At that time I didn’t have any tripod with me and my arm wasn’t fully extended especially in public 😂 hope that helps ☺️

Hello! How is the glare on this, Is it bad when it’s sunny?
Hello! Sorry it took me a while to reply but I recently tried vlogging outdoor with the sun and there wasn’t much glare. However, there was flare when I was facing behind the sun. But it depends really with the camera position to avoid it.

Hi Thea, sorry it took me awhile to reply! 🙈 so I’m still not an expert with the settings and I’m still learning on how to improve the quality while filming. So I currently have my camera set to Custom mode. The Auto Focus is on One-Shot if I’m not moving that much (but you can switch to Servo if you have moving subjects). The image quality is on S1 that can also allow the ZoomPlus. The video resolution and frame rate is on Full HD recording with 25.00 fps. ND filter in auto. ISO Speed in auto. White balance is in auto too.
Let me know if that helps, obviously there are more different settings but these are the main settings when I film at the moment ☺️ it might change if I’ll learn something new.

amazon says it's compatible with mark III I'm afraid I ordered it and it won't fit the mark II
Hii sorry for the late reply! I have the Canon G7X mark II and it fits to mine. As I explained in the video, it won't be symmetrical because the mark II has an extra button on the bottom right side of its lens but it's still work. Let me know if you need further help! 🥺
How does it perform in photography?
I’ve tested it to see the difference and the quality is still really good but it obviously forms slight curves of the image’s sides like a fish lens effect. I’m not a professional but I hope it helped 😁

Distortion though at the edges are real bad.
There’s people that like it, there’s people that don’t like it and I respect that. I personally really like it! It looks like I’m filming with an action camera 😁 it really depends in which purpose will be used. Obviously if you want to shoot cinematic shots, then it’s not so appropriate and that’s the downside of it. But this camera is mainly for vlogging so it’s doing a really good job ☺️
