I've almost thrown this song into Patreon every month so far...brain cell to whoever requested this one! By far one of my favorite Propagandhi songs! (Disclaimer though, most Propagandhi songs are one of my favorite Propagandhi songs....but this honestly is way up on my list)

Hell yeah, absolutely, Mr Kaiser. This cd has not left my 6 disc changer in years.

Haha…totally…I agree with the sentiment that all Propagandhi songs are my favorite Propagandhi songs.

If you consider music and lyrics together Propagandhi is easily a 9/10 band. One needs to read and understand the lyrics though. Cheers from a fan from Norway!

the only part you're missing is that it was written about a video game called "America's Army"

Yeah, definitely German. It translates to “the youth are marching” (to war in this case). The clip at the beginning is a Hitler youth propaganda song for sure. The parallel here being that the Army used tax dollars to program and distribute a video game called America’s Army to use as a child/youth recruitment tool. That’s pretty fucked (and a fairly apt) comparison for a lot of reasons and ol’ Chris Hannah of Propagandhi is here to tell you all about it 😂. Dude is just the best…I love him so much.

this song hits home too hard. i know these guys and also played "america's army". the video game they're actually talking about as a device to indoctrinate the youth. made me feel horrible when i thought about it. but at least i thought about it.

Def about recruitment process but also addressing the video game “America’s Army”’s part in it

Oh holy shit do I LOVE this song. I especially love the switch that happens about halfway through, lyrics-wise (i.e., starting from "Did I say that out loud?").
As Charles/Chuck said, I'm a fan of how it's presented as a speech.

For sure. That part definitely stood out to me as well. It transitions into the last half of the song so perfectly.

I'm fairly certain Chris Hannah (lead singer) writes the vast majority of the lyrics however, their bass player will usually sing a few songs per album as well. I don't think you've reviewed any of those ones yet though. Those songs are a different sound altogether; a bit more hardcore and intense but in my opinion, definitely not as good as when Chris sings.

Todd’s songs and voice have really grown on me over the years. He’s a hardcore force of nature for sure. I saw an interview once where he talked about taking jazz guitar lessons and now I have such a greater appreciation for his writing cause now I can really hear the jazz and his love of Nomeansno…haha. Makes for a nice dynamic on the albums and at live shows.

Your children already belong to us. What are you? You will pass on. And they won’t know a f-ing thing but this community, this real life enders game. Forget what you think you know.
When I first heard this song, my jaw was on the floor. It’s such a complex song musically. And the lyrics are equally as complex. The talent these guys have is mind blowing.
The “indoctrination of the young”. Our kids are going through school with 0 knowledge of how the world works for the most part. And they’re being taught certain things that will allow them to be contributors to this society without questioning it. “Here’s what we think you need to know” Now soak it in and get out there into the workforce and help keep this bull s@&t economy running. Because that’s all that matters in life..
