    I love this watch. I've got the black and gold one, and really, it is stunning. The build quality is beyond the line for this price point. I've got a big wrist, so the size is no issue. I love the design of the bracelet as well, very reminissent of the Omega Seamaster, I LOVE IT. One of my favourite watches.

    I agree about the movement, a Miyota 9015 would have made it a more compelling package for me. I have no interest in the NH35/38, as they add thickness, and the lower beat rate is less visually appealing.

    Phoibos is a brand that I have followed from their beginning. Every time I see one of their models that I like, it is either too small or it has an NH35. Oh well, sooner or later they will produce something that I will be quick to pull out my AMEX card.

    Revisiting this video after humming and harring about ordering this watch as 2 things didn’t quite fell into place - wasn’t sure about the colour way (I was torn between the black/gold and the red) and the bracelet (not a fan of this style of bracelet). I just realised you absolutely nailed it: White is the best colour and it needs to be on a strap and not a metal bracelet!
    Went back to their website to order one only to just find out they don’t even list the Sun Ray White anymore… 😞
    So far, online searches for this model pre-owned have produced no results… gutted.

    Hi mate - thanks for the review it helped me decide on a purchase of the same colorway. Please could you kindly check one thing on your unit that is slightly bothering me about mine:
    Do all the date numbers always fit centrally within the 3 o’clock date window? On mine, the numbers from 24 until 11 (especially obvious on 3,4,5,6,7) all sit quite a bit too high. Whilst the 12-23 numbers seem much better aligned.
    This can be seen both when quick-setting the date by 1st click crown, or when date changes naturally after midnight. Over half the numbers are misaligned towards the top of the date-window. So it’s unlikely a date-wheel alignment issue or it would affect all the numbers equally. Maybe just a strange printing on the disc for a 4-o’clock crown. Wondered if yours displays anything similar?
    Great to hear from you, well done with the channel, and keep up all the great efforts. Happy New Year!

    Thanks for the video and honesty that this is paid review. "As all of you know that never influences my review..."....to be honest nobody can know it.

    Great looking watch apart from the ugly TAG 80's style bracelet and weird Roman numerals,I'm a big fan of compressor style watches but compere this to the longene ,a clean ,elegant watch, sometimes less is more. I appreciate it's not an homage and that's a great thing but if they just cleaned up and simplified the dial this would be an absolute winner

    Nothing is wrong with the movement. Nh35 a reliable seiko movement. Some reviewers are disguised watch snobs.

    • @PeterKotsa
      @PeterKotsa  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true, it's solid as a rock, i have many watches in my collection with the Seiko movement.
      Personally I feel this watch would benefit from a hi beat movement for a smoother sweeping hand, thats all
      Cheers

    "it does look like a more expensive unit than it presents itself" what does that mean? Talk about a contradiction. Please Explain!

      Well done, I was going to edit it out and re phrase it, however I let it ride.

    Looks better on a strap. Think it would look better with the brand name on dial rather than a picture of an Octopus, those sort of logos seem a little childish to me for some reason. Nice looking piece thought.

    Hiya Pete! As much as I appreciate your opinion on watches in general, I completely disagree about this watch There is too much going on: knurling of the bezel, knurling of the crowns, the bracelet style, feather texture of the dial, roman numerals in the railroad minute track....nothing fits together, nothing corresponds, they're just random design elements put together. The handset with the hour hand being way too big is just ugly and the indices at 6 and 9 are too small....just my two cents, sorry!

    • @PeterKotsa
      @PeterKotsa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No apologies needed Alex, I love hearing other peoples point of view. 👍
      Of all those elements the only thing that visually bothers me are those Roman numerals
      Thanks for sharing bro, appreciate your opinion and feedback 👍👍

    Phoibos makes very pretty watches but that logo is such a turnoff for me.

    It's certainly an unoriginal format, but at least your voice isn't ridiculously and cartoonishly over-processed. Better music too.

    new Orient looks better costs less! and this is the main reason! micro brands must have a micro price, otherwise there is no point in them. A watch from Aliexpress level 20-30 dollars cannot cost so much How many dishonest sellers ask for them. you have to be a complete idiot to buy this watch for such prices

    Seriously, this is just a cocktail of arbitrary, superfluous, unrelated design elements and tacky decorations without any stylistic or historical connection but with a mushy 90s style case and flashy bracelet. Nothing in this design makes any sense. It hurts my eyes, I consider it an insult, I want it wiped off the planet, I love to hate it. Yuck!
