We wanted one of this to see the critters in our backyard. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGix1RueFf66g4dKZ0w4Qsw_3Vv6Xqant The first thing that I like about this is that it has a rechargeable battery. The other is that it is small and fairly easy to use. The instructions weren't too great but we played with it awhile and figured it out. Can see very well in our back yard down to the woods which is roughly a football field length in the dark. There were certainly more expensive ones out there but this works for us and was within our price range. We have not tried the video recording portion and may update the review later.

When I was a younger almost 20plus years ago there was a toy some kids had that looked just like the new 4 nod nvgs. It even had the eye divider glass for the site picture . It was white and purple and were supposed night seeing devices. I wonder if they got the patent from that toy company or if it was the other way around.

I’m confused, the Lindu housing is 10k how did you get the housing and the tubes for 6k total? Not tryna be rude just curious, and other than the experience of building NVGS, for that price wouldn’t it make more sense if you did spend the 10k to just buy actual PVS31s? I mean 10K for the housing and even being conservative with the price of your tubes wouldn’t it come out to be the same or even more price wise? Again not trying to be rude but I just wanna know if I’m missing something?

    • @nighthorus

It's not a mistake. I got the Lindu PVS-31 housing for 2k on Alibaba at the time.
and Two 2k tubes For 4k total I got it.
      2k housing + 2k IIt x 2 ⁼ 6k
      Total cost of 6k.
It may have gone up in price now. If you are interested, please contact the company via Alibaba chat.
I don't know why the price is going up, but maybe it's cuz of the situation in Ukraine?
Similar PVS-31 housings from other Alibaba companies should be available starting at 2k

Some do and some do not.
I wouldn't even worry about it since the gas inside of the NODs will eventually escape in a few months.
      If you do this,
      use argon wine gas.
With the opening facing down, remove the ocular lens and work in a sealable storage bag. Place the NODs in the objective lens unit and reinstall the ocular lens.
