Tour of New Jersey Transit’s Hudson Bergen Light Rail System. 8/27/24

Taking full advantage of New Jersey Transit Free Fare Week,  I decided to take a trackside tour of this dynamic transit system.  They run from North Bergen via Hoboken down to West Side Avenue and Bayonne.  They use a fleet of articulated cars, and in some places they move pretty fast but another places it’s like street running. The most interesting part of the line is through the high-rise district of Jersey City.  Buildings tower over the cars as they negotiate sharp curves along the way. A very warm sunny day made the tour that much more pleasant as afternoon views on the tall buildings accentuate the scenes.
