Kochi Japan

Our Holland America Westerdam stop at Kochi, Japan was not the sunniest. But we still had a great time walking through the city on our way to Kochi Castle, visiting their Obiyamachi Covered Shopping Arcade and even strolling through the cute Harimaya Bridge and the small stream full of cherry blossom petals. After all, we retired a bit early, so we could have time to linger as we slow travel our beautiful world.

I quite fortuitously came across your channel and watched your Japan uploads (Kyushu and Kochi (in Shikoku). I hope you had a good time there despite the rain. I am pleasantly surprised that there was a lot less whining than the usual Yanks visiting Japan. Where are you off to next?

We consider ourselves to be very lucky to be in Japan, no matter the weather. Sorry, for such a late reply. We're very new to TH-cam, and are just feeling our way around. Our next video posts this Saturday will feature Kagoshima and Shimizu (Mount Fuji). It's the last port of our cruise. We will do our best to try to improve on the videos as we go along. Did you find the city easy to walk around from port? or did you require transport to Kochi Castle?

We took the complimentary shuttle from the city of Kochi and walked the rest. Have a great cruise.

Many thanks for the video! Going to Kochi next April and want to do same as you. I was wondering when you where there and how did you get into downtown from the port area?

I believe on this port we took a free shuttle the city provided. We found that sometimes the ship does not let you know ahead of time. Have a fantastic cruise. Japan and Kochi are lovely. And we were there in the Spring. Got to see many Cherry blossoms.

Thanks for the video - looks like you were easily able to cover the main sights by walking. Cruious to know a bit more about the shuttle - was this arranged by the cruise line or the city? Is there a particular timetable?
