This is actually the Spanish national final performance, not the Eurovision one. And yes, this is heavily flamenco-influenced. She's quite impressive! - if you enjoy this kind of Eurovision performance (one that exhibits characteristics specific to one country's culture), you should check out France's Barbara Pravi with "Voilà", which placed a close second at the Grand Final in 2021. It's a very beautiful, rather classical example of "chanson française", masterfully performed.

This song is a great introduction to Eurovision because it has it all - culture, vocals, staging and an amazing production. My favourite song this year

I'm certainly happy there's a mix of jury and popular vote, because without jury votes this song would have scored the at the bottom... I'm not a big fan of it, but it was certainly a cool performance and deserved a high placing.

@@rowaystarcothis was never going to be a televote favourite, but if the jury was doing its job, it should have elevated Eaea way way more than it did. It’s a complex song that competent juries should have understood and appreciated more

The lyrics are gorgeous. Its a lullaby. "My child, when I pass away bury me in the moon. So that I can (still) see you every night. Every night except for one" - the night of the new moon, the only one in the month when the moon is not visible

Ahhhh you’re doing Eurovision!🥳🔥 there are definitely so many songs and acts that you need to react to like “Cha Cha Cha by Kaarija” “Euphoria by Loreen” “Tattoo by Loreen” “Ziti e Buoni by Måneskin” “SloMo by Chanel” and “Unicorn by Noa Kirel” and many more!🔥(those are just the ones on top of my head) but ik you will recognize some of them and especially some of the artists that both participated and also won ESC like Celine Dion, Måneskin and even Abba! Ofc it will take more than just one week lol, this show has been around for more than 60 years!🔥 Also, if you are wondering, Eurovision is a “SONG” competing and not a “singing” competition, meaning all genres can be performed and the acts are not judged by their voice (although vocals do help) but mainly by the sound, staging and overall feeling of the performance. Can’t wait to see what more you guys react to!🔥

This song is essentially a fusion between techno and flamenco music, which does indeed have quite a lot of common ground and shares sounds with Middle Eastern and some Indian folk music. This isn't surprising since Flamenco was created by the Spanish romani people (incorrectly called "gypsy"), who originally migrated from Northwest India a thousand years ago and settled in different points of Europe over the following centuries. Many experts say Romani people incorporated a lot of elements from their ancestral land and mixed them with elements already existing in southern Spain.

Eurovision has some music that represents their countries culture (like this one) which is kinda flamenco with modern influences, but there is also a lot of generic pop songs. Also about what you were talking at the end "niño mio" means my kid, "mijo" means the same (mi hijo) but "mijo" is only used in mexico (I think, maybe other latam countries). If i'm not wrong, the song is about a tale/lullaby about a mother wants to be buried in the moon so she can watch her child from there, every night, except one (new moon).
From eurovision I would recommend Belgium 2015 or Latvia 2015.
