    I am glad it is progressing. I have used AnyRail for three layouts now but never print any track sheets. I have the track plan to show what it will look like, that it will fit on the baseboard I have and it gives me a list of parts to buy. Every time I have gone to lay track, I have changed my mind here and there and usually because of point motors.

      Yes I get that, I feel that as with most things, planning can be done, but knowing that some variation is possibly needed as you progress, cheers P

    It is great to see the progress and the frustrating “real life” issues that crop up such as the double slip wiring. Nice to see the progress you have made and totally understand the other demands on time we all have to extend the timetable of the build. Best wishes for 2024 Paul

    Double slips will give you trouble every time.

    Wher I join sections I would overlap the top surface with the base joints, that way the two adjoining tops are fixed to the same bit of frame and would hold level, just an idea. regards, Geoff

    All the Best Paul, My Bolton layout is still up and running but I also plan a major upgrade later in year with a replacement station of Sheffield Midland its quite an investment as there are 27 points including 3 single slips map is from a 1966 British Rail map and I also plan on using iTrain software .... Regards John

    You Brits surely love your turnouts,( points ), it always seems so convoluted . However looking at track like that makes me happy. I dont know why but it always gas. Now running on that maze is another thing. The thing that really amazes me is that British Rairways operation uses all those switches as part of the operations. Just wonderful.

    Amazing progress Paul, so impressed. It will be fantastic when all the track is down and you can just watch the trains run. It's like watching fish - so relaxing love it.
    Had to pause when I heard your opening words. 'I had to take a section out'. My heart nearly sank, then you explained it was for installing a riser - PHEW, lol

    So lovely to see all the progress you've made with your well earned time off over Christmas. Great video Paul, I've really enjoyed seeing how it's coming along. I hope your knees have recovered from all that kneeling on the floor lol.

    A great start, Paul, and I look forward to the next episodes. Congratulations! I especially like your attitude as it comes over on the video; things go wrong, they don't turn out as planned, you make mistakes. All very human, and all so worth watching. Thank you!

    Great to see the first steps and seems as ever that once you get passed those first few bits of track, the rhythm and flow gets going. Wouldn’t worry about lack of progress over Christmas/Ne2 Year, especially if you had a great time! I have got loads of small repair and maintenance jobs to do plus some new locos and stock that are Christmas gifts that are yet to be run and here we are at the end of the first week of January already!
    Will watch your progress with great interest as and when it happens!

    Great progress, coming along nicely. Black to back is a great idea but what happens when your track does a 180?

    • @Sandlingjunction
      @Sandlingjunction  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it happens, Turn tables you work it round, track wise a use a reverse loop module I believe, cheers P

    Congratulations Paul you should be rightly proud of your 'new' approach. One question. How are you proposing to install replacement sleepers between the pieces of track you have laid?
