    And these days Greg doesn't even want to speak to Jaffe. That's sad. Yeah, Jaffe is very straightforward. But he is really honest, he's not a slime ball. To bad he doesn't make games anymore. But I'm loving his podcasts these days!

    What a great interview and show, which just demonstrates the passion, honesty, humour and caliber of both IGN and David Jaffe. Loved the blend of comedy with the discussion of topics. Very informative and entertaining. I already had high respect of Jaffe and of course Greg, but this interview just shows how genuine they both really are. Thanks IGN for delivering this free to the masses and thanks David for always thinking about the community first... BEYOND!

    It would be great to see this extended version of the interviews as its own show. Each week, one game director, one on one with Greg. Could be a great talk show.

    IGN is something else. Look at those posters in the background, showing what all the PS3 games would look like if they were games for the Atari 2600. To me, that's real proof that nobody on IGN's staff has ever played a game on the Atari 2600.

    It's so shocking and fresh to see someone so open and honest like Mr. Jaffe. Never holds back on what he thinks or censors himself and I never get a whif of bullshit from him. He lays everything out in the open and if you don't like it, fuck off. I highly respect him for that and I think he's definitely one of the most interesting people in the business. He's absolutely right about why people are fat, me being just that.

    David Jaffe is one of those developers who gamers know is going to put out the best product possible because this is what he loves. It's obvious he loves video games just as much as the rest of us, and that's awesome that he doesn't hide behind his PR curtain all the time. He's there, with us.

  • @Winters989
    @Winters989 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MonkersX It's not that stories in games suck. What he meant is that when a game attempts to devote their time into the story but a little on gameplay, if that story sucked then what else do you have? Honestly most people that play Call of Duty don't really give a crap about the story and just want to have fun with their friends to kick ass. Sometimes a game doesn't really need a good story to drive people in. People didn't play games 15-30 years ago because of a story, they wanted to have fun.

  • @Jushin15
    @Jushin15 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great interview

  • @Winters989
    @Winters989 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MonkersX But honestly, the best stories of Twisted Metal were in Twisted Metal Black. They might not be the best stories but they were definately dark and a bit evil. Seriously though, Twisted Metal is more or so loved for it's gameplay, the stories are an added bonus and they seem much better than previous installments since I saw a live video of people in machinima playing it and you can really see a difference.

    @15thCrypt I'm not saying it's the same as pirating. I'm saying as far as the developers/publishers care, it is the same. It doesn't matter whether they're pirating or buying used games, the creators don't get money at all. If a game has online features, then the creators need to spend money on the servers and stuff. New game buyers will be paying for the servers while used game buyers will be getting the game cheaper and not have to pay for them. It's unfair to the developers.

    I don't mind about online passes because games with online multiplayer I tend to purchase them at launch because I want to play with people that are at the same level as me right when I get it. If i was to buy the game later in 5 month I wouldn't enjoy online as much as I would at launch because I people would be owning me. Only games that I would buy used are the single player games only like god of war for example.

    I'm fine with online passes as long as it's included with new copies. I completely understand and support online passes with used games as long as the combination of the used price/online pass are still under the price of new. Example new game is $60 used game is $20-35 with online pass being $5-10. I think that would be perfectly acceptable. That way all parties are getting a deal, Gamerob I mean gamestop get's their cut, developers are getting money and the consumer pays less.

  • @15thCrypt
    @15thCrypt 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @joevictor53 its not just about buying things at launch though
    for example, a game after a year or so might just hit 20 bucks used but new would be about 26 bucks
    yes, 6 is not a lot of money but sometimes people just dont have enough which is why people like me would buy things used & there was that time about 2 years ago when used games were more expensive so I bought new games instead
    I have no problem buying new games & pre-order sometimes but 15 for a pass just cuz it was used is messed up

    @15thCrypt (cont) online credit, in the end thats kinda wasting money because if you have ANY credit leftover and have nothing left to buy it feels a bit like you wasted that few bucks
    I know not everyone buys dlcs, Im one of them (most dlc dont seem like a big deal to me)
    also youll see I never said they make enough money, I try to stay away from that excuse as much as possible, I just said they get some extra money from dlc
    I understand the reason they do this and I do sympathize with them in

    @joevictor53 I never said age was an actual matter
    I said EXAMPLE, I used a certain age as an example to how some gamers just cant afford things, as a result its unfair to both parties
    when are there never any new games around? lots of times, unless the game is like a year or 2 old (and even then) every copy out might be used, that is the cases a lot in some stores and in order to buy stuff online you either need a credit card (which once again, becomes annoying for some ages) or buy cards worth

    @orwell9788 I guess I should have utilized my space more to expand and say that by the time I would be purchasing a game used it would be at that price (20-35). I wasn't trying to say that the used price is that low on release day. We all know that Gamestop only drops the price by $5 which isn't worth it. I'd rather the money went to the developers. I'm a patient person and very few games call for preorder. I'm also an older gamer so much of my funds go to bills.

  • @joevictor53
    @joevictor53 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @15thCrypt (cont) Also, so what if they're only 14? When I was 14, I only bought about 2-3 games a year. They can save up money they get like pocket money or money they get for birthdays, etc. When are there never any new games around? I can understand if you're talking about old games from 2 or 3 generations ago but not relatively new games. Everything from this generation is available new online. Not everyone buys DLC. They already have enough money? The same excuse pirates use?
