If you go easy on the gas pedal, like 25% into it, the CR-V is very quick and peppy, I guess Honda design the car for you to be easy on the gas. Give it a try next time.
I have a modern Civic and you quickly learn NOT to stomp on the gas peddle if you want to accelerate quickly. Just give it a quarter push, then after a half a second, you can push the pedal to the floor and the car accelerates quickly. I am sure the CRV is the same. Every fuel injected car I have driven has been the same.
Jack Black I got a 2019 CR-V EX and I get the same results. It’s got plenty of acceleration for 99% of NORMAL people. Not like goons who want to mash the gas pedal through the floor
If you anticipate your start you can get the engine revs up and let that turbo spin up. Ride quality is fine and maybe not as good as others but handling is likely better. I find the handling to be pretty good and way better than a truck. You really can move around legally and comfortably well in the urban or suburban environment. Love all the tech and utility and great sound when using Android auto or a USB stick.
I found that if you dip into the throttle progressively (instead of instant wide open throttle) it takes off quickly. And as you keep pushing the pedal it keeps accelerating. Its actually quick off the line if you drive it right. I guess if you just stomp on the gas pedal Honda didn't want burnouts or protecting the CVT (?). I can get wheel spin if I add too much throttle too quickly as it accelerates. When I first got the car I'd try to stomp on the gas to merge into a gap in fast moving traffic and got that lag too. Again its how you drive it.
I own a CR-V Touring heated steering wheel is a $700.00 dealer installed accessory. I don’t mind not having a panoramic sunroof but would like to see Honda ad USB C adaptors, a plug-in to charge my laptop, heated second row seat, power port in the cargo area, 360 degree camera and rear automatic breaking and front/rear parking sensors.
I am in the NORTHEAST and I HAVE A 2019 HONDA CRV EX-L. I can get a HEATED STEERING WHEEL in MY HONDA for $500.00. The PANARAMIC MOON ROOF is AVAILABLE FOR THE HONDA CRV...in CANADA. The HEATED STEERING WHEEL CAN BE A DEALER INSTALLED OPTION( i forgot to mention that). HONDA CRV is for now THE UNDER DOG...SO WHAT, IT'S STILL A GOOD CAR FOR MY USE forTRAVELING in ALL 4 SEASONS.
1:20 completely agree, agree on rising quality as well, long ride is not v comfortable. Multimedia is also buggy, if you get a message your navigation stops and don’t come back. I stopped using Bluetooth just use it with cord. USB ports are different to access if you have stuff inside. Rear seat should have reclining options.. good review
I drive a 2014 Honda Civic with the CVT and it has the same off-the-line lag. I've gotten used to it, and otherwise it's been a solid car, but I'm not a fan of the CVT. The 2019 Honda CR-V looks sharper than any of its competitors -Forester, CX5, RAV4, etc., in my opinion.
Who stomps on the gas pedal like that? And if you do, maybe you need to relearn how to drive a car...! Ease the pedal in (as most have said below) and there's more than enough go to hop into merging traffic from a stand still, especially if you turn ecom off and then drop it into 'S' mode - something I rarely, if ever, feel the need to do in everyday driving. In regards to the body motion, I am wondering if, in like days of old, US models are softer sprung? Certainly, our 2019 Australian CRV has very little, if any perceptible body roll or motion in any direction; in fact, it's sprung quite hard and stays very flat.

This “review” is pixie dust because it fails to mention cost, reliability and cost of maintenance. Yeah some cars have heated wheels and panoramic sun roofs but they cost more MSRP. The Rav 4 has more features but with all of those optional packages it’s like $4500 more. Bang for your buck the CRV is toward the top. Easily 1st or 2nd in reliability along with the Toyota. They should re review ever car in 5 years and see where they are at. Some of these are closer new and then at 100,000 the problems pop up
white clarence I don’t know where you are pricing that, but on the Genuine Honda Accessories app it only costs $433.00. I’m sure labor probably jacks it up though
I think mainly two reasons : rubber band effect where there is bit of delay and people are used to the feel of the traditional transmission. The other reason is that in general the have bad reputation when it comes to reliability.
The CVT apparently will not be repaired by a Tran shop. When they break it is usually catastrophic and has to be replaced and they are not cheap. The manufacturers use them only because they help with fuel economy.
A turbo CX-5 better looking inside and out and faster acceleration but has less cargo space. If one needs more space I would prefer Subaru Outback, especially next year's 2 liter turbo with improved interior.
This is one of the worst cars you can ever buy. The computer system can fail at random times, lock up your steeling wheel, and make the car undrivable. AVOID
My parents' 2012 CR-V's battery went dead suddenly a couple of years ago, thankfully it was in their driveway but it was annoying. The dealer chalked it up to fluctuating weather messing up the battery but I don't believe that for a second
@@soiceyboy33 Motor Trend CR-V long term tester needed a battery too. They didn't own it long enough to see if 1 5t was mixing fuel in oil. Or are you talking recalls or Takata airbags?
