WCW should've never have gone out of business. They had great talent and hit gold with the NWO, Crow Sting, Rey Misterio and thr Cruiserweights, Goldberg, WolfPac, Scott Steiner, Booker T, etc.
bro your videos are so informative . dude ive learned so much from you . i cant believe you dont have millions of viewers .legit one the best wrestling channels on youtube
Wrestling Bios’ Reliving the War recently covered the nWo Wolfpac’s run, and what a damp squib that was. Looking back they didn’t actually do much week to week except cut promos, their most notable storyline was the Kevin Nash/Scott Hall feud.
@dave knows wrestling Just curious. Do you think lex Luger should have been world champion at least once from 1988-1990? I feel like he completely got jilted. Are you a lex fan? Great video. Long time Wcw fan here.
Your jokes are classy like Freddy blassy! Greetings from Germany the home country of classy Freddy Blassie! Subed since 2021 at minimum and I Chated with you livestream couple month ago. You up there where cultaholic is in my book.keep up the good work, dude! Peace
I love this, but I was there for the latter history of WCW. I watched from about '96 until the company folded. I would love to hear more about the early history of the company. It was just kind of glossed over in this collection.
I started watching about a year before Turner took over. The old product was great. I mean some of the angles were so ridiculous they were hilarious. Like the Robocop PPV.😂
i have a question. so we know that WCW was winning the ratings war for 83 weeks. but was WCW ever the number one promotion for sometime? i know the NWA was. so was the AWA. and nowadays the WWE/WWF.
The NWA wasn’t a promotion, it was an alliance of independent promotions. And before the WWF went national, there was no such thing as a “number one promotion” because the promotions were all territorial. It also depends on how you define “number one.” If you go by global market share then it’s always been WWE/WWF, no promotion before or since has ever come close.

I wouldn't say McMahon filtered out ALL of Russo's bad ideas. Remember when Terri Runnels was "pregnant?"
It filtered out most of them.
What about all the bad ideas after Russo was gone.
Let’s not forget the Brawl For All. One of the worst ideas in pro wrestling.
Needed to be! Terri was old as hell back then even though she was fine as hell too!😕
@@dwightsimpsonjr.7636 She wasn't that old back then. She had a daughter and didn't want her seeing that crap.

I started watching WCW about a year before the takeover. I watched until about 92/93 I think. Sting was just getting started.
I never realized robocop was a R RATED MOVIE. LOL.
Nudity, violence, and gore. Have you watched it?
1989 could definitely be called the year of Flair.
Teddy Long said Ole Anderson was the worst booker in the history of the world.
The Disney Tapings did nothing for WCW.......
"That Doesn't Work For Me, Brother"

I was a Lex fan as a kid but I kinda grew out of it. Although he was a nice guy when I met him. For me he wasn't the just yet at that time

I thought Watts was an old fool. The older I get, the more I think he was onto something.

The entire first part was the early history

to me the craziest tthing about wcw is that it only made money for 2-3 years of its existence but wrestling wise it was some of the best ever
Dave's Scott Hall impression is spot on.
You can argue that guaranteed contracts actually cost the wrestlers to have more money.
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
Hope you make more longtime Videos like this in the future!
That would be awesome!
WCW is a megapower company
Good job

It does depend on what you count qualifies as number one but I say yes it was

It also depends on how you define “number one.” If you go by global market share then it’s always been WWE/WWF, no promotion before or since has ever come close.
@@MrBeardsley during the territory days was there ever a number one or top territory?
The NWA was also a promotion in addition to being a governing body. If you're gonna be needlessly nitpicky (which you shouldn't) at least be right
I would say that WCW was the #1 promotion during that 83 weeks. Remember this entity known as WCW only really existed for 13 years, from 88-01.
Goldberg was never over with the fans. WCW invested millions of dollars on the Goldberg character, but got nothing out of it.
LOL
