Hi Dave, I managed to get a Korg 3000x about 4 years ago, after hours & hours of messing about I gave up on it (all the gear no idea) just followed your excellent video and set mine up its a great piece of kit ,many many thanks Dave not just for this video but all the vids you put out on You Tube it really is appreciated. Regards Roger
Thanks so much for responding Dave - and yes, I've done a reset several times, but several buttons are sticking and I believe it needs to be opened and checked over - which is not within my area of expertise. However, very good to hear you have 2, neither of which have gone wrong, as that gives me hope of it being repairable. Ayjayb
A great instructional video. I've been using a Yamaga Majicstomp ll programmed with EFTP patches I bought from Charlie (Ross) Hall 10 years ago. Not used it much due to work commitments. However, now I'm retired I'll have more time to play. After seeing your video some months ago I looked for an AX3000G. I managed to get a used one from Japan. Your video has reduced my learning curve on the Korg drastically. Thanks for sharing the settings. As you say it a good starting point.
Hi, Dave really found this useful. I have only just acquired the Korg ax3000g and being a beginner at Guitar and setting up the Korg I was wondering if you plan on doing any more videos on settings of the Korg ax3000g in the future. I really am struggling with settings and how to set up the Korg. There does not seem to be any English videos showing how to set up one of these. I would like help in how to save these settings and any others. I do hope you are able to help, more instructions in the future would be great. And thank you for all the other videos you do, always enjoy watching them.
Hi Dave. Thanks very much for this tutorial. In the last month I have obtained this Korg ax3000g and used your patches from your personal website and those from the Brian Holden link you very kindly left. Considering this effects pedal is now quite old it really is excellent for replicating the Shadows. I don’t think I have ever had such a nice tone as I have now and I have used a lot of effects pedals but never really enjoyed the tone from them. I find the Korg ax3000g to be easy to navigate. Thanks again Dave you have helped a fellow guitarist to finally enjoy playing. All the best Mark.🎸👍😉
If you select the patch you want to demonstrate, click the effect you want to review n click on the arrows on the display it will show you the settings
Thanks for sharing your knowledge its much appreciated. Do you also use the 3000 on your cover of' Once upon a time in the west 'I love your rendition of that
Hi Dave, great informative vid, is there a particular reason why you are using the red and white Audio cables rather than aux cable into your interface?
@@OldGuitarMonkey ok I wasn't sure if it was something to do with stereo or something, I've got one of these to pick up when lockdowns relaxed a bit more after my vox one went bang the other week! Cheers
Hi Dave, thanks for sharing the set up info, always good to see what goes on behind the scenes before the take :-) Was there a gale blowing outside? Lot's of background noise? Thanks again for sharing!
Nice video Dave, just wondering if I can use this very tone for you never walk alone ? ..I've been inspired by you on this but I can never get my tone right.
Good Morning Dave, Your instructional video was GREAT, but you lost me at the beginning when you said, "Hello". But that's ok, because I am technically challenged. I never realized how much goes on behind the scenes in your studio in order for you to produce the wonderful sounds of the songs you do. I'am off to listen to "Atlantis". I know it will great. Regards, ~~ Karen
I have owned a Boss ME50, Zoom G7, Zoom G1Xon, Mooer MG100, Korg AX1500, Korg Pandora mini, Alesis Quadraverb GT and Korg Toneworks AX3000G, and for me, (I only want somewhere near Hank Marvin's sound), the AX3000G is the best and most versatile. I now have two, 1 for a backup.
Hi Dave. Please can you tell me how to save your settings. With knob I have to use. Yesterday I bought a second hand AX 3000G. Thanks for your answer. Regards: Alex.
Make the changes you want for each effect setting. When you are happy and want to save it and overwrite the existing settings... 1> Press "Write" once. 2> If you want to save in a new location, Select the new location Bank (1-24 using the Down or Up pedals) and select the new position (select from pedals 1-4). If you don't want to change the location go to 3>. 3> Press "Write" to confirm. The new settings will be saved.
Hi Dave, Can I ask please, have you had any problems with your ax3000g - i.e. sticking buttons, or effects not working properly and if so, were you able to get it repaired? Reason I ask, I've just bought one 2nd-hand that does work, but not exactly as it should and I'm wondering if it's worth getting it repaired - or returning it! Thanks, Ayjayb
HI DAVE I HAVE JUST GOT AN AX3000G AND FOLLOWED YOUR U TUBE FOR A SHADOWS SOUND (ATLANTIS) AND IT DIDNT GIVE ME THE SAME SOUND WOULD YOU NO WHY IM AX3000G INTO A XENY802 MIXER AND THEN INTO A FENDER CHAMPION110 AMP HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME BUY THE WAY WATCHING YOU PLAY ON U TUBE HAS INSPIRED ME TO PLAY I THINK YOU MUSIC IS GREAT
I have two AX3000G pedals and they both sound exactly the same with the same settings. I plug my AX into a Focusrite Audio interface (2i4), which is connected to my desktop computer. I record the output directly to audacity and monitor with headphones. I don't use a mixer or an amplifier. I'm really pleased I inspired you to play. It's a wonderful hobby.
On the following page on my website I have links to Manuals on how to use the AX3000G and also some settings I used as a starting point for a Shadows sound.
Cheers Dave, been experimenting this morning and have done your Atlantis patch , brilliant sound, so glad I bought the ax and thank you for all your help. Keep up your encouraging work. Ralph
hi Dave ! you are a great guitarist and a great sound engineer !!! your setting for Shadows is very good!!! do you have made other presets for the AX 3000 G ??? because i find it very difficult to use .... :(( you were professional musician certainly ? Fred fom Paris
No no no....your effects are too exaggerated and intense. Hank's sound is unmatchable. Your equipment is good but your settings are to be tweaked much much delicately. I cannot afford a Fender Strat but I get fabulous Hank's tone..almost...with my left handed Squier Standard Strat , Marshall 30, and a vintage echo/ delay...all I can afford but I'm super happy with the tone.
I'm glad you are happy with your tone. I'm happy with mine. Hanks tone changed over the years and between songs. I prefer his later sounds of "The Final Tour", not the early original, high treble sounds.
@@rajarams5988 Hank would be referring to his amplifier. I don't use one. I record directly from the AX3000G signal processor.. Hank didn't have an AX3000G. I'm trying to match Hank's sound, not his settings.

Hi Dave, you've made another great demo on the AX3000G. Glad I still have mine.
thank you so much dave I was going insane
Thank you very much dear Dave , your tutorial is awesome!!
Thanks for sharing Dave.
Great video. Certainly nailed The Shadows sound.

Good luck with the AX.
That's a seriously nice gentle sound, sir. The target Shadows tone is pretty well captured here.
Thanks for sharing Dave. Much appreciated.
Sure wish I still had a working Korg AX3000G...a great sound machine and you make it talk...super video...Thanks for posting...Ye Olde Coach

I share your story Mark.
Still struggling with mine though!
Gavin Mathew Hi Gavin Hope you manage to get your Korg sorted out. Is it manually inputting the patches that you are having trouble with?
Thanks for your message Mark. I think it's the expectation that I would be able to play and sound like Dave Monk!!! I'll keep trying. All the best.

Hi Dave, interesting to see how you get your sound. Cheers Mick
Very good!!
Thank you OGM. . . . .nice job. . .dan ncr manila

The AX has a stereo output and this twin mono cable connect into the two inputs of my Focusrite 2i4 audio unit.
Ok cheers Dave! Hopefully gonna get in the next few weeks

Have you tried resetting it back to factory settings. That might do the trick.
