      😊 Hello! I hope your shop does well too! Years ago in the 90s I lived in North Augusta and I recall at that time there was a sweet little stitching shop in Lexington. I don't remember the name of it, but I am happy to hear there is one there again. I live further south in Georgia but would make a pilgrimage to your shop. I am in a stitching desert.

    Thank you, Lori for an inspiring flosstube! I haven't done mill hill kits for several years, but this year I ordered the soccer ball for our grandson. I think I can tackle it! Our grandson has spent the last 2 plus years in treatment for lukemia. This past march he was able to ring the bell!! So soccer was so exciting for him to be with other children again. That also means that we have that special family time like you treasure so much. We play canasta and he takes turns helping each of us. I've been able to cook for them again. We feel like we missed 2 years of his life because we had to be so careful of germs. My daughter homeschooled him. But we are so thankful to God for healing him and that we can have so much time with him again. Enjoy your family and those grandbabies!

      What a heartwarming story. I am so happy that your sweet grandson has rang that bell. I know that both he, and the family, is happy to have him healed and to have the ability to all join together again. God bless you all. ❤️

    Hi Lori, I found your channel through Dena at half stitch cross stitch. I live in coastal Georgia and have been stitching off and on for decades. I came back into it about 3 years ago after a very long hiatus and have been pulled all the way back in again. The first project i completed in 2020 when i started back up was an all-black Permin sampler I had about 80% completed when I put it down in 1999. I guess they are called Quakers now but we didn't call it that back then. I have purchased some new things, but really want to complete my old projects, I'm not getting any younger and I have grandchildren now that I want to have these things. I appreciate very much listening to someone who sounds like me! Thank you for sharing your projects!

    Retreats are so much fun and yours sounded wonderful!!! I have yet to attend a stitch retreat other than just for the day. Someday I plan to organize one. I organize quilting retreats 2 or 3 times a year and they are so much fun. But to stitch for 2 or 3 days would be lovely.
    Loved so many of your haul items. How fun!!! My goal this year was to focus on one piece to stitch but oh boy, I lost that goal in April!!! There are so many starts in my stash to work on but then something catches my eye and off the rails I go😂

    Thank you for such a wonderful floss tube! Your retreat sounded like so much fun too! I was sewing quilt blocks today while watching your video. On that Verlaine sampler, Jacob from modern folk embroidery did a video on that very sampler, he went into depth of the history which I found fascinating. He also made a few different charts of those motifs. I would love to stitch one of those samplers as well, it’s on my list of charts to get. :) I love your bags and floss buddies. Have a lovely week!

    It looks like you had a great time at your retreat. Thanks for the Hobby Lobby info. I used your Santa head floss drop idea of a little happy for my stitch group's Christmas gathering that same year. I'm going to look for the pumpkins and the trees too. They are perfect for little gifts for a group without spending too much.

I was able to get by The Stitchin' Kitten yesterday, and I'm so glad I did - such a cute little shop and so much to browse. Lori, another great video. I love the piece you picked for your anniversary stitch. I have almost converted entirely to one strand on 32 count on up. The pieces i've chosen to do seem to be too crowded if i use 2 strands. Maybe it's just the pieces i've chosen. You have a nice variety of designs.

    • @mischievousstitches
      @mischievousstitches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like you, I love stitching with one strand. It just doesn’t give me the coverage that I want on this piece. I want a more dense looking stitches.

    Roxy floss co in Canada created a new floss colour for Jacob's new chart called vierlander. Its a variegated over dye with dark brown/black. Would be fantastic for that sampler you showed. I've bought it for the modern folk embroidery one. Just a suggestion.

    I stitched the first 4 pages of that Vierlande sampler, hated the fabric so much I threw the whole thing out. I need to get a new piece of fabric and restart it! Maybe Sulky black on 36 count?

      @mischievousstitches  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow! I hope that you enjoy your restart much better. The Sulky threads will give great coverage on 36 and 40ct fabric.
